Too much for my own good

1) So this time I was at the BHH. It wasn’t that easy to go, believe me. I have always fancied myself brave but somehow meeting people you know through their blogs in person is scary sort of like going on a blind date or going to meet your online heartthrob. I contemplated for hours whether to do one of the three things 27th offered as excuses. Then I thought getting backup would help, so I called up matanda but he wasn’t gona make it in time. Then I tried to convince phantom but he too had an engagement. Finally I called country boy, who was gona make it but much later.

By the time I got guts it was like 7.30,armed with the perfect plan. Simply walk into mateos and head straight for the bar pretend a bit, then scan around. But waaa before I could even entered the outside part; Dalkom sniffed me out and called out. I was in shock at how she was spot on and that is how the fright disappeared. I was immediately engulfed into the warmth of Dalkom, Heaven, Ivan, Dante.

At the other end of the table, 27th was busy learning Chinese so I got his warmth later. Scarlett was talking away with Jackfruity. Then later Country boy and S.a.g.e came and fanned the fire. Anyhow, it was quite something, I bet the rest of you are dying for the details but hey you ought to come next time so am gona be mean and save them. Bottom line me, 27th,Dalkom, Ivan, Dante and Heaven had a nice time.

2) My weekend was roller coaster with party after party; I was dying to catch ma breath the whole time from Friday. Friday one of my gals graduated, then Sato my neighbour in office got married and there was Miss Ug, then on Sunday my niece had a birthday party.

3) But what really made a mark this weekend was the discoveries I made at the functions thanks to all the lugambo passing around.
First my ex most recent one had kwangulaed. Now this one hit me big time, not coz I still have hots for him, but coz he was so not the marrying kind. He was the kind of hanging with my boys at the pub guy. Whose idea of life was having a blast and thinking about the future whenever.

And there he was being introduced, gosh a shocker especially since one of the reasons I left him was coz he seemed unserious and I didn’t see a future. I thought someone else had more potential than him and look at yours truly not yet flashing her bling bling.

Anyhow I haherd, then one gossip party said mbu he was being pushed coz he has a kido with his galfie oops fiancÃĐe.Ok! we can chew those sour grapes later. I am still getting over how he turned out but no nugu. I just realized that there is something about leaving or hurting some one else. It’s like you get paid back one day when you see them flourishing and you wonder what if??? So those who are mistreating their darlings take note.

Seems it was ex’s weekend out, coz again my favourite ex of them early campus days n vac tells mi how he moved in with his galfie last month coz he was fed up of being a commuter parent. (They have a one n half year old). Surprise coz dude had told mi repeatedly that he was no longer interested in babe n infact hadn’t seen a future. He thought lots of unpleasant things about babe. Anyhow no sweat.

Then my secondary ‘A’ level letter writing ex called me for mob minutes, now this one got married two years ago n has two kids and I was serving the high table on the wedding. Yes! For mi I don’t keep beef; we are good friends besides that was puppy love.
Basically that was my weekend. Oh and the Miss Uganda thingy was a blast for me especially was I was at the very front row next to the judges and my contestant won the title.

Nothing but the whole truth

I have been feeling howly since last week. Howly is one of those things- like ‘just’ so don’t even ask me what I mean by howly, simply try to read between the lines.
Work has been so stressful for the last month and as if to counter the stress my party nights multiplied.

I have been up and about every weekend for the last over one month and some weekdays too with my friend S or a gang of hot looking chicks (and we are straight)
It is liberating to walk into a hangout simply stand at a spot and enjoy your black ice or soda whatever the mood that night and not be bothered by uncouth men or empty conversation.

Have you ever simply wanted to be? Not even try to make conversation or listen to buddies, male or female and worst of all not wanting to be hit on. And the best part is when a man’s pickup line is ‘where are you girls going, can I give you a lift’ and oops! You have your own ride.

That’s what I am talking about. Anyhow, last weekend was just not flowing. Went to this place on Friday, felt bored with the monotony. The girls were hyper though, so for the first time in ages I went home in the middle of the plot. It was no better on Saturday.

I think my system is craving for serene fun. You know Lionel Ritchie’s voice in the background, delicacies punctuated with stolen glances, sips of whatever to cool the burning insides. Ok! Wake up duksey. But you guys get the idea hmmmm. Anyhow am going to lay low for some weeks and get over myself.

Edmo n cheri tagged me, for some reason he thought it had happened before but hey, nope, today is your day.

The rules first...
1. We have to post these rules before we give you the facts.

2. Players start with eight random facts/habits about themselves.

3. People who are tagged need to write their own blog about their eight things and post these rules.

4. At the end of your blog post, you need to choose eight people to get tagged and list their names.

5. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

Some things you do not know about me
Funny how I often interview people about themselves and now am finding it hard to get down to me. But anyhow here we go.

1) I am 5ft 5,medium size, have this smile I love flashing around, you cannot miss it, and have one other thing the guys especially never miss. I leave that to your imagination. (Clue; 27th would be grinning) Oh! I also have a soft voice, does that count for soft spoken?

2) Was meant to be a social worker but ended up in the media. I love writing and have this passion for acting too. Am into some mostly expats group called KADS and will be in some kina Uganda movie yet to be shot. You can line up for autographs coz this baby is going places.

3) I am an emotional person and affectionate person. A romantic, I can say though have dated unromantics who have killed my spirit even for poetry, which I adore. Am used to being the center of attention coz I was an only child for years (am daddy’s girl) and somehow tend to be a favorite of people but otherwise have four siblings. This has made me kind of bossy coz am used to having my way. But the good part is that I don’t impose myself on people; simply make them want me to take charge. I am friendly I think.

4) Patience is my thing. This makes me able to understand my friends and withstand pressure. I don’t break loose in tantrums but wait for the perfect time to react. But I dislike people who are slow, I love fast moving stuff. I loathe posers, hypocrites and selfish people. The first five minutes of a conversation with such people kills the day for me.

5) Girls just wanna have fun defines me too. I love to have a goodtime so I can be you mutasubwa anytime but hey, don’t let your imagination run wild, I know the limits too. Guess this gives me my sense of adventure and humor. I am the kind of been there done that person. Ironically I take life so seriously when it comes to my work or anything I have set my mind on. I am the type who talked a lot in class or cut lectures but came out shinning coz I know when to get down to business.

6) Oh yes I love cats so much, have one called Ruby and her black kitty which my boss took last week. So poor Ruby is lonely now.

7) It would be nice to say am a simple, down to earth person with ordinary tastes I guess. Down to earth maybe but unfortunately, I like sophisticated stuff, nice shoes, clothes, perfume, food (Chinese, Indian, am addicted to pizza etc) and the best part is I love to treat myself. I love perfume so much. My nostrils are often alert to get a new scent especially the male one. Dare I admit perfume turns me on. My theory is that you don’t have to afford that kind of lifestyle, all you need is the right attitude to go for what you like once in a while.

8) I am crazy about muscles, try showing me a 6pac then you will see. However I date brains alongside other things so I have never dated a man with pacs, all I can do is drool over the ones up and about, then swallow hard. (I have concluded that brains and 6pacs don’t go hand in hand).

Bonus, I blog coz it allows me go into another world that’s my own. My secret place I can say where I can interact with loads of people. Besides I spend the whole day caressing a keyboard so what do you expect?

There is just too much to write about me so I can’t exhaust it. This will have to do for the mean time pips. looks like most of you have been tagged, but i will go for tandra, s.a.g.e, Phantom, carlo, Inktus my internet connection sucks today so thats why its just bolded.

The ghost of the past

Yesterday I was at my old secondary school which i last visited two years ago. As I strolled through the compound I was amazed at how years fly. It was as if yesterday that I was rushing for prep, practically scampering after hearing the siren, ahead of the teacher on duty who was waving an intimidating stick as if we were cows.

Ok I must admit the way we ran made us sort of look like cows. Those who faced the good old days of the rod will identify with me on this one. Exchanging chits at preptime, dreadful preps, exam pressure, reading novels (mills and boons), nicknaming teachers, hanging around the canteen, dressing up on Saturdays, going for school trips and lots of other scandalous moments.

Just as I was walking over to the headmaster’s office, I run into one teacher, oh yes! Wasn’t it that Arts and craft teacher who gave me a swollen bottom on one occasion? It is so ironical when you meet these teachers years later and see nothing intimidating about them. Remember the tummy ache that came whenever you were summoned to the staff room?

When he flashed me a killer smile,I was thinking, what the heck did I ever fear about this guy. Then the memory of one cold dark night in front of the staff room in senior two came back to me. It was during night prep when a grasshopper landed on one girl’s shoulder. The tickle sent her screaming and every one else in pursuit of the door.

Such chaos! Five minutes later my class was kneeling in front of the staff room as that teacher on duty demanded to know the culprits. But like real students, solida (protecting the criminals/law of silence) ruled. Painfully we ‘tied’ our butts as three strokes of the cane had their way with our bottoms.
What years those were, someone buy Fagil Monday a cold drink for banning the cane.

Anyhow so I was saying, being in memory lane was really special. Though I am still very mad that the school built a swimming pool years after me. How could they do that to us yet we were more deserving students than today’s lot.

One thing I still marvel at is that the teachers still look the same. What do they feed teachers on? I could pass for the same age as my history and home economics teachers back in the day. And the men apparently look like they can buy me lunch with out raising a brow. Many be I should have been a teacher.

Anyway it felt so good to walk in and out of the gate. Gosh I hated the process of asking for permission. Being in boarding school was practically like being in prison. How I looked forward to finishing school and returning to boast with hot clothes, hair and all. Such sweet memories.
