Today is a Chocolate day! It seems dark is better than milk according to this Beeb Report.

Hmm I found a good excuse to have some chocolate! My resistance fell low yesterday so I popped over to the Spar next to work and got a bag of Malteasers (its good when the middle fizzes on your tongue) to consume during the afternoon. Well the bags had the Chocollect bit on, so uninterested in work as I am at the mo I wandered that way and registered my pack .. didn’t win a prize but found that if I eat 9 more bags of Malteasers (or other Mars Confectionery of my choice) I’ll have a free Odeon Cinema ticket. This is very good news I felt for a cinema going chocoholic I know (and a male one at that!) … he’s got 6 credits so far (but didn’t know of the Odeon offer) so I feel he might be tempted to fill his hollow legs with some more chocolate! … so girls (and male chocoholics) there’s your good excuse for chocolate!

On another note I’m feeling at the mo that my PH licence stuff is rather farcical, having had a really rubbish (40 min) meeting with my PH mentor last night (not helped with having to wait for 20mins for her turn up back at her house having forgotten about the meeting which we had rescheduled due to her forgetting about the original one). She was then telling me I should have my QM file written up (that’s 8 weeks beforehand!) despite me only agreeing the menu with my QM the previous night! She also was more concerned about not having a bit of paper she’s seen before in my folder than my programme for events at pack holiday! Needless to say my view of her isn’t great and I’m currently annoyed with GGUK again!

I’m still not enthused about work and its nearly the BH weekend so 3 days off! So as I was the only one in earlier I went for a little surf over to the Book Crossing website after seeing a bit on Sat am TV which I was reminded of by one of my message boards.

So as I’ve found delight in reading the Saga of the Exiles series (which was borrowed) I thought I might let a book loose as I rather like the idea of picking up a book you wouldn’t have chosen and just reading it (and as the case was with the Saga of the Exiles books enjoying them!). Amongst my friends we’ve swopped a number of books we’d not read before so why not record the fact?

… so which book do I let loose and to whom shall it go to? More news later I guess …..

Still can't get inspired by my highways work .. must try harder, but it's just not where my heart is workwise; I want to play with ferries!
This hence means that yesterday's highlight of the day was blood doning with a site visit along the hill (great views of the city) in the morning.

Well at least the weekend is a bit closer and I get to spend a whole 3 days with the delighful dr! ... hmm yep I've got too much time on my hands to think so descending into a bowl of mush!

So guess I better get back to writing up tender docs (yawn) to try and keep myself occupied....

I refound The Purity Test which rather reminded me of my student days at Playfair Rd ..... unsurpirsingly since then my score has somewhat lowered!

On another item I'm currently debating on whether or not to go to the SAGGA Alt Rally as its just up the road from me this year ... but its more the case of whether the people I want to see are there. So if you're going use the commentage box to let me know!

Well the weekend is over and its back to work. But at a different desk due to my secondment I’ve moved all the way to the section next-door (and the maritime end of it as well!).
The premiership has started, and very well for Pompey who were at home & won. So because of this I gave my car a very good wash (sills included!) and cleared all junk out of it … Dr T I hope you’re impressed at the weekend!

Other than that I spent the weekend on a bit of a Season 8 X Files marathon whilst blowing my nose/ sneezing and sewing. Hmm and I even did a bit of tidying.

Hmm I've just found out that my home city is a UNESCO World Heritage Site for more click here ... well I suppose it does have a particularly fine cathedral. Mind you they don't have anything interesting on for the August Bank Holiday!

Its still hot down here and I'm still frying in a metal box daily, but this is my last week on site before I head to the cool and air conditioned office known as Civic.

I spent a lovely weekend doing not a lot with the Delightful Dr T ... it was just what the Doctor (except maybe not one with a PhD ;)) ordered after too many weeks of being frantic.

So I come away with from the weekend with a load of material to make into neckers for our Harry Potter PH (the kids will be having portable points charts!) and having watched T3 finally!

Oh and after sitting in new cars at the Portsmouth & Southsea Show last week I have a list of cars I want to test drive before the year is out!

Phew its hot down on the south coast at the mo! Today we had a 33.7C registered in the container .. and tomorrow is going to be hotter! At least today I was donned in shorts as the other engineer had worn them the previous day so figured I could too. Only prob is that the only sandals I can drive in properly (ie on a motorway) are my surf sandals as trying to find wide smart sandals is as much as buying short legged but long bodied jeans ...ie near impossible (mind you I have found success with £10 Matalan stretch jeans!... a reason for them to stop making them!)

Also as I've sat on the same site for more than month since the NZ trip it time for me to be moved on ... so I have this week and next week on site before I head towards the civic to do some design work ... but for how long?

Hopefully things will cool down by the weekend when I head north for a weekend with the delighful Dr T who I've not seen for nearly 4 weeks! .... as you can imagine I rather looking forward to it. Material shopping for PH neckers & watching of T3 are planned ... along with a bit of sleep!

Long time with no posting from me due to the camp known as gascit. The backpacker tent went in the end but within hours I was wishing I had the mountain hardware tent if only for the drying space after pitching tents in the rain on Friday. I had a fun but tiring time (signified by me nearly falling asleep at work infront of the comp for the 2 days after!). Before anybody sends me a message I will answer the questions everyone seems to be asking.. prior to gascit 'No Dr T isn't going despite it being a Scout and Guide event' ... at gascit I seemed to have everybody asking the M question (there were obviously too many old married of our era there!), still can't understand why it was being asked now? Anyway back to Gascit spent some enjoyable time on our Sub-camp of Space (where of course nobody can hear you scream (particularly some of the kids)) with Granville who was very amusing with his descriptions of some of the SAGGA quirks! Auntie Mad came to visit on occasions to see how we were and even help the 1/4 raddish (aka 1st/4th Reddish) to sort out their washing up probs (ie they argued over it all the time and didn't quite seem to get it done! We had PL arguements on the sub-camp so had the whole camp experience there!

Next leave is PH ... why is all my leave related to Guiding this year? I plan to stop this sometime before the new year with a long weekend with Dr T somewhere ... suggestions in the message box (Paris is already out as he doesn't like speaking French {and if you'd heard his accent you'd know why ;)})

So back to life here with 3.5 hours OT on the tower this morning and the Portsmouth & Southsea Show with a Friend tomorrow... Dr T awaits next weekend :)
