Wingards: Praise! Kelly's brother-in-law, Kris, is coming stateside for his major back surgery. There is a 4 mth recovery, and his troop was supposed to come home in May. So, they are thinking he will not have to go back to Iraq.

Murphys: All those that are traveling.

Roughleys: Pray that they sell one of their houses.

Caplenas: Brandon's grandfather is in the hospital. he has Parkinsons/Alzeheimers and is not doing well. They are looking to place him in a nursing home.

Streckers: Pray for families salvation, them looking for a new employee, and for a family member that is going through a divorce.

Myers: Justin's brother-in-law, Tony's salvation. Also, please pray for Liza's salvation, one of Bonnie's friends.

Opela Baby Has Arrived!!!

Avery James was born around 6:30 Thursday morning. He weighed 9 lbs 11 oz and was 20 ½ inches long. Mom and Baby are doing great. They went home on Friday.

Christmas Caroling

We are going to try and go Christmas Caroling again tomorrow, Tuesday, Dec 18th, weather permitting. Plan on meeting at the church at 6:00 PM, and we will leave from there.

Clarks: Jonathan is still looking for a job, please pray for God to send the job they need for them.

Simpsons: Jared and Athena are both looking for job changes.

Jones: Please pray for Valarie's brother, Shane. He has separated from some of his family because he doesn't think that they support his marriage. He has a lot of anger in his heart and doesn't see it. I know that he loves God. Please pray that the family moves from the past.

Hands: Pray for Jaxon. They think he has another ear infection because he hasn't been sleeping well. Also, pray for Charity (a girl that works with Emily), she is pregnant but she went for her 12 wk checkup and they couldn't hear the heartbeat. They did an ultrasound and the baby wasn't the size it needed to be. The doctor thinks that she may be losing the baby.

Rings: Praise! Their business is doing good so far this winter. Pray that it will continue to do well. Please pray for their family as they will be traveling a lot this Holiday Season.

Tylers: Please continue to remember Brian's grandma who is going through chemo.

Prayer Requests - 11.25.07

Jones: Please pray for Valarie's brother, Shane. He is in the Navy and has been on the ocean for a couple of months. Also, please pray for their friend, Cynthia Hidalgo, she is having an important surgery in January.

Readers: Salvation for families. Pray for comfort and strength for Kendra's Aunt Thelma, her husband, Mickey, is dying of COPD. Pray that God would use this for his glory and a witness to Kendra's family (they are very close to Uncle Mickey).

Streckers: Salvation for families, and for a family members divorce.

Denners: Emma's friend, Angela is leaving a dangerous relationship. Also, pray for her sister Anna, to have wisdom to leave a bad relationship.

Caplenas: Brandon's grandfather has Parkinsons and has been having seizures and falling. His health has declined quite a bit over the last few weeks.

Rings: Continue to pray for Todd's grandmother. Her surgery went well, but they are going to have to do surgery on the other side of her neck.

Tidwells: Laura wants to change jobs at the end of the year (out of teaching). Pray that she can find something she can start the 1st of August after the baby comes.

Flynts: My friend who had twins last week prematurally, lost both of them this past weekend. Please pray for her and her husband as they deal with this terrible loss.

Announcements - December

Class Christmas Party:
Dec. 1, 12:00 in the Fellowship Hall. We are having it catered by Whole Hog, and will be about $15/family. We are still working on getting it lower, but for right now that is what we need to plan on. Also, if you could bring your money no later than the 11/26, that would be great. Also, you will need to bring 1 white elephant gift per adult. I will have a sign up sheet on Sunday to see who will be attending the party, so that we can give Whole Hog a head count.

Christmas Caroling:
We have moved caroling to Tues., Dec 11th instead of that Monday.

Silver Dollar City:
We are planning on going to Silver Dollar City on Sat., Dec 15th. We will meet at the church at 10:00 AM.

New Years Eve Party:
We are going to have a New Years Eve party again this year at the Middletons. There will be more information to come on this.

Prayer Requests - 11.11.07

Bennetts: Continue to pray for Lindsey. Pray that her spinal tap comes up clear and that she remains in remission. Also, Desiree is taking 11 students (3rd-8th graders) to LR on Friday for the area ACSI Spelling Bee. Pray for safety as they will be in a bad part of LR.

Wolffs: Pray for Ryanne as she is having surgery on the 20th. Pray for a quick recovery.

Flynts: Misty has a friend who delivered her twins at 24-25 wks. They are in LR right now, and the babies weigh around 1 lb. Please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers. They will have a long road in LR with these babies.

Readers: Salvation for families, direction of our nation, and opportunities to reach the lost.

Rushings: Lindsay Rushing (sister-in-law) had a pre-term birth (34 wks) - c-section. Pray for quick recovery and health of new baby (Amy). Also, Phyllis Rushing needs prayer for a friend at work, Barbara Rogers who is having surgery.

Streckers: Salvation of family. Andrea has a family member going through divorce. Heartbreaking situation, and there are children involved.

Part-Time Assistant Needed

It would be part-time (for now) on a contract basis, and would involve about 10 hours per week. This is something that would require some driving in the area, but mostly he or she could do from home.

I need someone to help me with the following:

1.) Workshops - secure quality locations, make packets for attendees, run the sign-in table, greet people as they come in, and stick around to schedule appointments. There is about 1 of these per week.
2.) Create “welcome aboard” packages for new clients (I have examples to use as a template, and all materials are ready-to-print), and order gift baskets to be delivered to their work/home (again, I have contacts for this).
3.) Marketing
a. Once workshop locations are secured, follow-up with my newspaper reps to ensure all ads for workshops are being run properly and in a timely fashion.
b. Enter workshop attendee info into Excel spreadsheet for follow-up and statistical tracking after each workshop.

Pump It Up Social

We had such a good time at Pump It Up...adults and kids. We had some races between adults, boxing matches, and watched the kids go up and down the slide. All in all, I think everyone had a great time.

Briley Tyler was born at 7:44 AM on Nov. 7th at NW Medical. She weighed 6 lbs 15 ozs. Mom and baby are doing well. Carey is in RM 1245. We are starting meals on Sat., and need people to sign up. So, please let me know when you can take a meal, and I will put you on the schedule.

Middletons: Praise! Their rent house rented to a good family. Please pray for Max as he starts school on Monday in Gravette.

Browns: Attitudes at work, God is working in both of their hearts.

Hands: Emily fell down stairs at Women of Faith and sprained her ankle really bad. Please pray for quick healing of it. Also, praise, the women of faith conference went well, and they had safe travels.

Bartmiers: Praise! They are expecting, due in July!

Gayduseks: Shelly's dad found 3 lesions on his brain. He will be going through more tests in the next couple of weeks to determine if he had a stroke or if he has MS. Right now he is having headaches, numbness, blurred, and double vision.

Murphys: Travel to marriage conference, and Jonathan to continue to heal from sickness.

Clarks: Please pray for them as Jonathan was laid off work today which was NOT expected. Pray that they can handle the decisions that will come for them financially and that God will provide Jonathan with the job they need.

Prayer Requests - 10.28.07

Readers: Pray for our neighbors, who are reconciling from divorce. They have expressed interest in coming back to church! Pray that we can get them to come and they will feel welcome.

Streckers: Please pray for steady business, and for families salvation.

Rushings: Please pray for our business growth, and that our daycare needs will be met.

Gayduseks: Warren's mother needs to have a total knee replacement. We are praying about the timing and logistics of the surgery.

Murphys: My mom is having problems at her store. Also, remember Jonathan, he has been sick.

Robertsons: Our car died last week, and we need to sell our house so we can get a new car.

Rings: Praise! They are expecting. Continue to pray for Todd's grandma, and the healing in her brain.

Wolffs: Their best friends mom passed away today (Sun). Also, there was a major 5th grade incident at school, please pray for the kids involved. And lastly, please pray for those affected by the wildfires in CA. As far as they know all their friends and co-workers are safe and home. They are still waiting to hear from a few.

Caplenas: Evan had his 2 mth checkup and his doctor found fluid behind his ears. Please pray that he doesn't have an ear infection, and doesn't take after his sister who had chronic ear infections and tubes twice.

Tidwells: A friend that lives in Mulberry is very sick with cancer, and is not expected to live through the week. Her husband was Laura's coach in high school and they are very close to this family. Pray for her and her husband during this time of sorrow.

Bennetts: Lindsey had a spinal tap on Thursday and there were some cancer cells. The doctors have not said she is out of remission. They are going to check again next month to see if there are more cells. Pray that the doctors will not find anymore cells, and that the Lord will continue to heal her.

Tylers: Brian's grandma is done with chemo, and now they are running tests to find out if it is all gone. Please continue to pray for her. Also, keep them in your prayers as they go through these next 2 weeks and that Catelyn will get used to having a baby sister.

Rings: Todd's grandma can't have surgery for another 6 weeks because her brain bleeds have not healed.

Flynts: Misty's best friends husband, Kyle, fell yesterday while playing flag football and tore his achkilles tendon. He is going to have surgery sometime this week or beginning of next. He will be in a wheel chair for 8-12 wks. Please pray for them as they are trying to get everything ready for their baby and he will not be too much help.

November Social - Pump It Up

Lindsey Update - 10.10.07

This is one of Desiree Bennetts students:
I have some wonderful news to share....

Lindsey is FINISHED with chemotherapy! Our LR specialty nurse, Ruth, called today after reviewing Lindsey's blood work to notify us that the final two weeks of Lindsey's chemo have been canceled! Her blood counts look great....but, her liver functions are still elevated...they are down from last week, but still out of range. So, our doctor said that the risks associated with giving Lindsey the final two weeks of chemo far out weigh the benefits....and we totally agree. Ruth called when I happened to be in the truck with Todd....and I was just thankful Todd was driving because I just lost it! I couldn't help it...I just started crying! Crying because I was so happy for Lindsey, so relieved that her liver would not have to endure another round of chemotherapy and so amazed that Lindsey's second treatment plan for Leukemia is behind her...just very, very thankful!

So, this evening...we had a wonderful little "chemo" dumping party! The boys each threw a handful of chemo pills down the sink and then Lindsey dumped the rest of that bottle and then two other bottles down....smiling all the way! It was a good, good thing! As soon as that was over....Lindsey said..."Sooooooo, can I go to school tomorrow?" :-) Oh...this girl!! We had to explain that she would eventually go back to school, but that it might take a few months for us to see her immune system build back up. Of course, she didn't like that answer and there were a few tears, but she understands and will wait it out!

Lindsey will have a spinal tap and a bone marrow aspiration for her final end of therapy evaluation at Children's on October 25th at 9am. She will be fully sedated and won't know a thing...I am going to ask for full sedation for Todd and I, too, but I'm not sure they will go for it! JUST KIDDING! :-)

It takes a few hours, (which can feel like days), to get the test results back from the spinal fluid and bone marrow, so that makes for a long day sometimes. Thankfully, we have been blessed with many perfect reports on procedure days...but, as you know...we also have the painful memory of two very bad reports on procedure days (Lindsey original diagnosis and her relapse diagnosis)....so, that makes for a bit of a stressful day. So, please be in prayer for Lindsey's comfort on this day and PERFECT results from all the tests, for complete healing, for safe travels and low heart rates for Todd and me! :-)

We are planning on moving out of our apartment during that same visit to LR...the apartment has been a true blessing that has allowed our family to actually be a "family" during the last couple of years. Many of you helped with our apartment in one way or another, and we so appreciate all of your help.

Prayer Requests - 10.7.07

Tylers: Carey is 34 weeks pregnant, and has started having contractions. She is dilated to 1 cm, and is on bed rest. Please pray for the Tylers as they are going through the last few weeks of this pregnancy.

Bennetts: At the risk of sounding like her 2nd graders' prayer requests, their cat, Isabel, is having surgery on Thursday. There's a 30% chance it will work. They would rather not spend more for a specialist, so pray that it works.

Middletons: Please continue to pray for their rental property. They are still needing to find a good family to rent it. Praise for God's provision of a part-time job opportunity for Melissa to provide enough to cover rental payment.

Flynts: We will be traveling this weekend to see some friends in NC. Pray for our safety and for Carter, as he is staying the weekend with some of our family.

Prospects Needed

We need more prospects! If you have a friend, co-worker, relative, or whatever and you think they could be a prospect for our class, we need to know about it. Get a little information about the couple to Misty Flynt, or Karen Couch and someone will make contact.

Prayer Requests - 9/23/07

Rings: Praise! Todd's grandmother, Bernice Ring, is walking with a walker and is in better spirits. Also, pray for our business to stay busy through the winter.

Readers: Pray for families' salvation. Pray fo the beginning of the new Foundations class and leadership according to God's will.

Tylers: Praise and Request! Brian's grandma's cancer is 1/2 way gone. Please continue to keep her in your prayers. Also, Carey's friend at work with triplets lost one, but is still pregnant with the other 2. When she makes it to 24 wks they will be transferred to LR.

Middletons: Melissa is not feeling well. Kinley is doing well with potty training, please pray it continues. Praise! We probably have rental property rented. Parents began construction on their new house. Pray that it goes well and for patience while they live with them. Pray for salvation and/or witnessing opportunities for friends at Kerry's work.

Bartmiers: Pray for Sarah, as she has been sick all weekend.

Hands: Pray for Jaxon, as he has been running a high fever all weekend.

Flynts: Please pray for our family as Chris prepares to go full time with his own business.

Hayride Information

Here is some more specific information regarding the hayride on Saturday night:

**We will leave from our house around 6:30ish, so make sure you’re there on time. Just park wherever you can find a spot.

** The hayride is approx. 5 miles long and should take us anywhere from 20-30 minutes to get to our destination. The entire ride is on a dirt road, and since we haven’t gotten any rain lately, it could be a little dusty (I don’t expect much traffic).

**Our hayride will take us to a field, where we will have a fire prepared for roasting hot dogs and whatever else we decide to throw on the fire (please, no firecrackers). Please note that this is in the country, thus there are no “handy” restrooms available. Additionally, the pasture we are utilizing is currently “occupied”, so don’t wear your best shoes unless you want them painted some shade of brown/green. Once we are finished with the bonfire, we will head back to our house (another 20-30 minute ride).

**Overall, the trip should take around 2 to 2.5 hours, depending how long we stay at the bonfire.

**If anyone wants to bring games, music, etc. for entertainment at the bonfire that would be great. We could also go snipe hunting or cow-tipping.

**When we begin the ride, it will most likely be around 75 degrees and daylight. By the time we return, it will be closer to 65-70 degrees and dark. Dress accordingly.

Moving Day for Sunday School

We will discuss the move in leadership meeting this week, but here is a little info for now. Foundations 1 and 2 will be occupying rooms 226 and 227 in the upstairs of the newly finished Building A on September 30, 2007. If you take the elevator, our classes will be at the opposite end of the hall. We have the ability to occupy a room accross the hall when we begin another class as well.

Langford Praise

Praise-Michelle has decided to stay home!! Prayer-She is going to start a small in-home daycare. She will do full time care, but will also be open to part time or drop in care as needed. Also pray for her as she speaks to her administrator at school about this decision.

Building Update - 9/18/07

Desiree sent an email letting us know that they finally passed inspection in the upstairs of Building A. They will be moving upstairs sometime this week. Thanks for all your prayers, but please continue to pray as they transition into the new space.

Gaydeseks: Pray for Warren as he is trying to keep up with work.

Browns: Pray for Makayla's father as he is having an apendectomy on Wed., and please pray that it is not cancerous.

Wingards: Pray for Kelly's brother-in-law, Kris, as he is having pain in his back. He is not getting the time off that he is needing to heal or have surgery. Pray for his safety, especially in his condition, and for his wife, Erin.

Bennetts: The inspection is this week, please pray that it goes well.

Middletons: Praise! Everyone is back from traveling. Also, please keep Kerry's parents in your thoughts as they are starting their house this week. Lastly, please keep their rental house in your thoughts.

Classroom for Foundations 2

While it was ever-so-pleasant to meet in my office with all of you, I still felt the need to search out a room for our Bible Study time. I found a temporarily empty classroom on the first floor below the Upper Room. There will be space for one and all, so please come back. I will get the class started then head off to Gravette to preach, so be praying for me.

It looks like we will be in the newly finished upstairs as soon as we are given occupancy. The Foundations department will have 3 available classrooms grouped together so our departmental strategy will be seemless.

We will be having a Hayride/Bonfire on Sept 22nd at 6:00. You will need to bring $5 per family to help pay for the food and drinks. We will meet at the Flynts house (directions below) at 6:00 PM, and head out from there.

Another Prayer Request - 9/11/07

Tylers: One of my friends at work wife is pregnant with triplets. They had a very hard time getting pregnant and had to do invetro. Her water broke when she was only 18 weeks and she went to the hospital. In his words the hospital basically told her to go home and wait for the babies to die and that they didnt have a chance. I cant believe a hospital would say such a thing. They were very upset. A week later they do an ultrasound and all 3 are still alive in her and she is on bed rest. He said that 2 of the babies are identical twin boys and the other one is a girl. He said the girls sac has not broken and one of the boys sac had but the placenta is still feeding both the boys some how. If she makes it to 24 week they can be admitted to Little Rock. So for now she is on very strict bed rest Please keep them in your thoughts and prayers.

Prayer Requests - 9/9/07

Clarks: Courtney's brother-in-law's infection is back, but not in his heart. He is on an IV at home.

Klamms: Pray that their house sells quickly in MS.

Urruchi: Pray for Pavel's ministry in Decatur

Simpsons: Pray for Jared and Athena as they finish planning everything for their wedding on Sept 29th.

Rings: Continue to pray for Todd's grandmother, Bernice Ring, as she has been moved from HealthSouth into a care facility with rehab. Pray for her spirit to be strong and God to continue healing her as she recovers from her stroke.

Tylers: Brian's grandmother is still in chemo. Also, 2 of Carey's co-workers bluntly told her that they are not Christians and don't want to be.

Bennetts: Continue to pray for construction on building A and that they pass inspection soon. Also, please pray for 2 of Desiree's friends who in the past few weeks have suffered miscarriages.

Streckers: For the theif that stole their Christian CDs out of their truck. That this person may be led to listen and God will touch their heart. Also, pray for them to adjust to the new schedule of 3 kids and a business (stressful). And lastly, the salvation of their families.
