Today not Tomorrow

The Lord really challenged me last night about the way that I live for the future. I am always anticipating what is to come and lose sight of what He wants for me and from me now. I am so focused on change and tomorrow that I become useless in relationships, in ministry, and among the body today. But He didn't promise me tomorrow...He asked me for today.

"13 Now listen, you who say, 'Today or tomorrow we will go to this or that city, spend a year there, carry on business and make money.' 14 Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes. 15 Instead, you ought to say, 'If it is the Lord's will, we will live and do this or that.' 16 As it is, you boast and brag. All such boasting is evil."
.:James 4:13-16:.

Especially with the baby, it is oh-so-easy to look toward the future...and with great excitement! And I believe this is okay...I just have become so focused on it that I've neglected the life that will happen up to September! This baby is not promised us. But His return is! That means that people need to hear the truth today! It's so easy to lose sight!

With those who may read this I know that there are weddings, graduation, seminary, a new house, and maybe even a new baby :0) coming very soon! But will we be useless as we await their coming? Let's let Him fine tune our hearts to dwell in today so we may be useful for the Kingdom! Today is ONE opportunity! Bless His name for it! May He be the keeper of our hearts and hopes for the future!

I forgot what I was going to say...

Lately my tear ducts have been very much in touch with every emotion that rolls over my heart. Tears can fall almost immediately. This has it's advantages and disadvantages. Nausea has also been a part of everyday. But I do consider this a blessing, as it's a continual reminder that there's a real-live baby growing inside me! I do feel like I'm more adjusted to pregnancy now, but ladies keep telling me that this is just the beginning...in a few weeks the baby will be growing faster than a...well I can't think of anything cool to compare it to...but you get the point. :0) That's been happening too...I'm forgetting everything...wait...what was I saying...?
