A Few New Videos

A couple of new videos for your viewing pleasure.

First, we have our stud athlete. By the looks of it he could already start for the Mets (I'm sorry, but the 3-0 start is just not going to last and they could use some young guns).

Next we have Ethan trying egg yolk...and giving daddy a heart attack by being less than clean.

The next two videos go together. The first video is Ethan and Pop-Pop David having a little back and forth. Every time Pop-Pop grunted, Ethan grunted back. The second video of this group is one of our favorite videos of Ethan of all time. It is Ethan watching the first video and grunting back and forth with the video version of Pop-Pop.

Who's My Daddy?

I turned nine months old on Sunday and I had my 9-month doctor appointment. They drew some blood but I was a total trooper. They also took some measurements: 29.5 inches long (85% percentile) and 20.75 pounds (65% percentile)...that's right ladies, I am one lean mean drooling machine. But, the real question is, with those numbers, who is my real daddy? I mean, anyone that knows what my "dad" looked like when he was younger (maybe he weighed 20.75 lbs soaking wet when he was 9 YEARS old) has to wonder the same thing I'm wondering...did mommy have a date with an NFL linebacker about 19 months ago? Well, while we all ponder that question, here's a picture of me at nine months...ain't I cute?

Florida

I had a great time visiting Grandma and Grandpa in Florida. We did so many fun things, tried lots of new food, went in a pool for the first time and even started crawling. Here are the highlights from an amazing week...I can't wait to go back.

Here I am getting ready for take-off on my first plane ride ever. I wore a special outfit for the day, but I was so excited to fly that I spit formula all over my "That's It I'm Going to Grandma's House" shirt. After a few minutes I realized that flying is boring...especially because the mean old man in front of me complained about my playing with the tray table. What a putz. Anyway, with nothing else to do, Daddy and I decided to take a nap.

Everything in Florida is much more relaxing and chill. I especially enjoyed my relaxing breakfast time with Grandma and Mommy. Of course, my favorite part of meal time was staring out the window at the trees.
We don't get that in NY. Usually when I stare out the window at our apartment I see the weird old couple in the building next to us that smokes on their balcony. Florida 1, NY 0.

A good portion of my time was spent watching golf on TV with Grandpa. Here he is explaining to me about keeping your head down at impact....either that or he is pointing to the water and saying "that's where my ball goes."

Even though we were there to visit Grandma and Grandpa, I also got a lot of QT with Mommy and Daddy. Here are some pictures of us hanging out.

Also, that little kid that follows me around our apartment in NY came with us to FL; funny, I don't remember seeing him on the plane. We hung out a bit in my room, he was very friendly and here I am sharing a special moment with him :-)

One of my favorite parts of the trip was going swimming for the first time ever. Here are some pictures and a video documenting the experience. Move over Michael Phelps

Mommy and Daddy say a pool is a lot like a bath, except in the bath I don't have to wear that stupid hat, see: (I did not like the hat!)

Florida was also the first place I started to crawl like a real baby and not do that army crawling stuff anymore. Here's a video of me crawling to Elmo, who surprised me by coming to visit me in FL. I LOVE ELMO!

Let's Catch Up

It's been a while since our last post and Ethan has grown a lot, so we thought we'd upload a couple of recent videos of Ethan. He's getting ready to crawl...of course, he's been "ready" for about a month now, but still he mostly just army crawls and gets Jenny super-excited that he's about to start and then ends up doing the upward dog pose. He's also started to clap a lot and wave, though mostly it is just to himself at this point. Finally, as you can see in this first video, he has found his groove.

1. I'm Dynamite.

2. Hooray for Ethan

3. ALMOST Crawling

The Good, The Bad and The GROSS

I'm getting the hang of this eating thing. Some food, such as sweet potatoes, I liked. Some, like the rice cereal and barley, I didn't mind. And then, there were the peas. They were, how should I put this...VILE! I thought mommy and daddy were punishing me for something. Look at the faces I made...why, oh why, did they keep forcing this garbage down my throat. They didn't even have the decency to let me wash it down with a chocolate milkshake.

Loving the sweet potatoes (I think I got some on my lip)

Accepting the rice cereal (not my favorite)

Despising the peas!!!!

Eight CRAZY Nights!

So there is this holiday called Hanukkah...and I'm not really sure what it is (something about oil lasting for eight days - I think). But, what I do know is that Hanukkah means PRESENTS FOR ETHAN!!! I opened one present each night and some nights I had even MORE to open...

First night of Hanukkah: Lighting the menorah! (I wanted to touch the candle, but my very mean parents wouldn't let me. Apparently I could burn myself. Whatever.)

Here is a picture while I'm opening my first present from Mommy and Daddy!

Can you guess what it is? Check out this video! Note: You will see that I was very tired, (because I was up past my bedtime) so I'm not my talkative self. However, when I woke up the next morning, it was like I was seeing this toy for the first time! My parents rock :)

And that was just the first night! I continued to get presents for seven more nights: 7+1 = 8 nights...I'm a very intelligent little man! Here are some pictures of my new toys. FYI - Not all of my Hanukkah presents are shown because 1) I haven't received them all yet; 2) Our camera died; and 3) I'm worried that if I post them all, other babies following my blog will come to my apartment and steal them.

Night #2: New PJs from Aunt Lauren. Good thing because Mommy just found a hole in my favorite feety pajamas!

Third Night: Aunt Melissa and Uncle Jeff got me a walker! I know what you are thinking - this is a perfect gift for me because I look exactly like an old man. I can use it to help me practice walking, so there will be no excuses.

4th Night: Remote control car from Daddy's co-worker, Martha. It is so cool. I keep trying to grab it, but Daddy moves it away too quickly. MEAN! See video of Daddy being mean to me...

Night #5: Uncle Brian & Aunt Erica bought me a few toys...the twirlin' tumblin' fun park, crawl along music ball and lettersaurus. Unfortunately, our camera died so we don't have a picture of me opening these. :(

Sixth Night: Sent from Florida by Grandma Marv (hehe - that's what Cousin Miles calls him) and Grandma Beth - An Elmo book (I want to eat him!), Where's Baby's Dreidel, and my own calendar. Grandma always gets her children a calendar on Hanukkah! So now that I have one, I'm officially a Frank (even though I look NOTHING like Daddy).

7th Night: Gift from Grammie's co-workers. Mickey sweatshirt (one of my favorite Disney characters) and Bday Keepsake that tells me all about my name and the year I was born.

The Last Night: my last present was a stand and play musical table. Here daddy is showing me how to use it. I may look like I'm listening but I'm just acting cute so he'll give it to me quicker.

Booo...Hanukkah is over. I've learned that Jews have been asking "Why?" for centuries so here is my why question! Why can't every night be Hanukkah?! The up side is that lots of Jewish holidays have presents so I can't wait for Passover because I'm pretty sure I can convince Mommy to tell me where she hid the afikoman :)

So This Is Food?

For the last couple of months, Ethan has been becoming more and more interested in the food and drinks of those around him. Finally, this week it was his turn to start eating, albeit just rice cereal. As is typical with babies eating for the first time, he had a hard time getting it all in his mouth. By our estimates, 25% ended up in his stomach, 25% on his face and 50% on his bib. Regardless of how much he actually ate, it was really cute. Here are some pics (we have a video but are having some issues uploading it; if we get it to work it will be in a subsequent post).

(Getting ready to eat)

(Not loving it so much)

(Okay, give me that I can do this myself)

(Messy, but still super cute)

(Finally back to the bottle, this food thing is overrated)
