My Wild Farm Animals

Wow-- I'm really on a role here, people! Two blog posts in two days! Boom. As mentioned in yesterday's post, paisley loves to change clothes. The cow costume is a typical outfit change for her. Sometimes it's pulling teeth to get her out of it... aaaand sometimes she just wears it to family functions. Today, we decided to get Sadie in on this action. She actually loved it! That is one cute duck if you ask me!

I have quite a bit of catching up to do! So, let's get started! I'll start off with Sadie. Where to start? She's my strong willed, into everything, go go go child. She keeps me on my toes, knows what she wants, already has a sassy little attitude, and is FAST! She also LOVES to snuggle, loves to give kisses, is tender but also rough and tough, and loves to eat. Her favorite things are baby dolls, baby bell cheeses, her big sis, bananas, her blanket and her paci. 

In the past two weeks, Sadie has gone from only having TWO bottom teeth to having EIGHT with her ninth and tenth popping through as I type this. And FOUR out of the TEN of those teeth are her MOLARS. So, eight teeth in 2 weeks has been a lot for this little girl. We've (me included) been popping Tylenol, wearing  teething necklaces and eating Popsicles like nobody's business. Through it all, she has been a trooper! We have definitely had a lot (AKA a million) of challenging moments in the last few weeks, but knowing the pain she must be in, she is taking it so well!

Now onto my sassy little 3.5 year old. She is full of personality, has a great memory, loves people and loves preschool. That's right, she started preschool a few weeks ago and can't wait to go every week. She's already made "two best friends named Violet and Harper" and "they love to get their backs rubbed." 

She is really into being a superhero and jumps off of everything. She loves to change her outfits 5 bazillion times a day, she is extremely talkative, loves to talk on the phone, and "really misses her cousins. Like, a lot, a lot." 

Oh, and last but not least, we bought a second car! Yep, that's right folks, we have been a one car family for 3 years! We feel completely and utterly blessed by having a second car. Sometimes I don't even know what to do with myself!

I'm a bit late here, but better late than never, right!? So, our sweet little Sadie girl is ONE year! Hard to believe-- it's gone so fast and we can't imagine what life was like without her! She has made our hearts burst with happiness and joy. We love her more than words!

She is a tiny little peanut that is FULL of personality. She loves attention, loves people, loves to wave, loves animals, loves to smile, loves to sleep, loves to eat, loves to make people laugh and LOVES TO DANCE!

We finally went in yesterday (at 13 months) for her yearly checkup. She weighs 17.5 lbs -- so yeah, she's small. I have no idea where she puts all the food she eats. She still only has 2 teeth, and yet, I always blame everything on teething. Oh, she's fussy? Must be teething. Oh, her nap was only 30 mins? Must be teething. Oh, she just pinched your child? Must be teething. Yep.. She pinches. It's something we are working on. 

She laughs at the word no. She keeps us on our toes. She is extremely active, but loves to snuggle. She says mama, dada, birdie, no, shoe, bye, hi, wa-wa (water), baby, mimi, papa, babe. Speaking of babe, she just recently started calling Paisley "babe".. It's pretty funny

11 months!

Man, I cannot believe Sadie is almost a year old. This has definitely been the fastest year of my life... And I'm sure it won't be slowing down any time soon! 

She lights up our life, is full of personality, keeps us on our toes, loves people, can be very serious, can be extremely smiley, is head over heels for her big sis, loves to cuddle, and is constantly dancing. 

BEACH

It was the most perfect evening. We went to the beach, played at the park, gathered lots of sea shells, skipped rocks, and ended it all by getting a waffle cone frosty at Wendy's. Did you know there was such a thing?! Zach and I kept saying... "Why did it take them so long to come up with this?"

Easter weekend Festivities!

-I just recently made this, this and this and they were fabulous.

-I can't wait to make this next. I'll let you know how it is.

-Today I started week 2 of Insanity.  It's just as insane as the first day I started.  It's a major love/hate relationship.  I love the results (yes, results even in only a week..thats pretty encouraging!) but I absolutely hate the workouts. Ha! 45 mins is a LONG time, especially when all I really want to be doing during nap time is, well, napping. But... I am going to stick with it and do it for 60 days.  Or is it 90? Ay yi yi.

-I just filled out Paisleys application for Preschool in the Fall.  We weren't sure we were going to put her in it, but we prayed about it and feel like preschool would be a good thing for her.  She could definitely use a good, structured environment. And, of course, the learning aspect would be a bonus too! ;)

-I turn 28 tomorrow.. I'm gettin' up there, my friends!

-We are currently in the planning stages of re-doing our kitchen.  Giving it a little face-lift.  A little TLC. I'm not sure what the people were thinking when they chose the countertops in our kitchen, but thats okay. I'm looking forward to getting started.  First up - painting the cabinets WHITE.  I can't wait!

-And, if re-doing the kitchen wasn't enough.. we are going to do a little somethin' somethin' with our back yard, too.  Like, add a little fire pit.  And maybe a few plants.  And maybe even add a few chairs. 

-My life has changed drastically since Sadie has started moving.  I forgot how much you actually have to watch them at this stage - ha! Gone are the days of just setting her down and finding her in the same spot.  

And, I'll leave you with this quote that I saw today on instagram.

"You will never have this day with your children again. Tomorrow, they'll be a little older than they were today.  This day is a gift. Smell and touch them; study their faces and little feet and pay attention.  Relish the charms of the present."

Sometimes I'm reminded to stop and smell the roses (or, in this case, let her ride the germ-mobile). Usually I'm in a hurry while running errands, hurrying between naps or feedings, that I always say "no" to things like this. But I'm so glad that we had a few extra minutes to kill today... Because she loved every second of that .50 cent ride. And that made me so happy.
