Santa Baby

We had just returned from our Christmas service at church when Edmond and I couldn't resist taking some pictures of our little man!  After taking 4 or 5, we finally had one that was "good enough".  While Edmond was looking at the pictures...he erased it!! I was a little frustrated!! So, he decided to take one more and all of a sudden Riley gave us the biggest grin!  We like to say that he was dreaming of Santa Claus, but of course, I'm sure it was gas!

Favorite Pics and Visit with Mimi

Well, Mimi just couldn't take it!  She couldn't stand being away from her newest grandson any longer!  We had such a good time during her visit, although Riley has been a bit more fussy the past day or so than usual!  Hopefully he is just going through a growth spurt (eating every 2 hours again) as our friend Ms. Julie told us!  Anyway, despite the tears, the visit was good.  We will get to see her again in 10 days and Riley already told me how excited he was!  The other 2 pictures are just 2 of my favorites.  The one in the white gown was taken just yesterday, while the other one was taken a week or so ago.  Hope everyone is having a good week!

End of November/Beginning of December

Hello Friends!  We have had some fun times over the last few weeks!  A few days before Thanksgiving, Edmond's sisters and niece came to meet Riley!  We had so much fun with them!  It meant alot for them to travel so far to see us.  Then Edmond's parents came to see us for Thanksgiving.  I think Riley was able to be held just about the whole time!  He was spoiled rotten.  A few days later, we celebrated Riley's one month birthday.  He was really excited about it....can you tell? And then we had some fun with bath time.  He is just so precious!!  I guess I am a little biased though!

Well, alot has happened since our last post!  Riley had his first bottle (we let dad do the honors), Mimi went back to Louisiana, and Aunt Kristin came for a visit!  All is going well!  He is really a good baby...we are so blessed!!

Sweet Dreams

Sweet Dreams Riley! There is really no story to this picture....just thought it was a cute one. We're still trying to figure out who resembles. I think he will be a good mixture. Right now his hair is brown, but some of our nieces/nephews started with brown hair and then it turned blond! So....we will see!!

Ready for School

We have him trained! Here is our little man raising his hand to ask a question! He is just so much fun!!! We love watching him do his hourly stretches! We have had many laughs about this one!

Riley's Arrival

And here he is....Riley Bates Long!! He arrived on Saturday, November 1st at 6:06 p.m. He weighed 7 pounds, 10 ounces and was 19 and 3/4 inches long. We stayed in the hospital for 48 hours and then made our trip home! This picture shows how much he enjoys car rides....puts him right to sleep! He is definitely his father's son!

Pensacola Shower

Last weekend, our friends Ryan and Greta Osborn threw us a couples' shower here in Pensacola. We had a blast! One of the most interesting events was Edmond tasting baby food while blindfolded. He had to guess what type of food he was eating. Needless to say, he had a little trouble!
We were so very excited that Edmond's parents and my mom, sister, and niece were able to come into town for the shower and a short visit. We really miss our families!

Pineville Shower

Here we are at the Pineville shower. Again everyone showered their blessings on us! Edmond and I feel very loved!

Baton Rouge Shower

Well...we continue to get ready for Riley's arrival!! A few weeks ago, some friends in Baton Rouge had a shower for us. My friend Kim was so gracious to open her home for the party! It was so much fun getting to visit with college and post-college friends!! Several of my friends at the shower are also expecting! We really had a blast and really got stocked up on things for the baby!! My sister and mom posed with me for a pic!

My mom wanted monthly preggo pics to put in Riley's scrapbook! She's already halfway finished...and he isn't even here yet!! I might be exaggerating a little, but she is definitely on the ball! Edmond took this one around August 19th...just 3 more months to go!

Ultrasound pictures

We had an ultrasound on June 19th to find out the sex of the baby. I had big plans to wait until the birth (just me, not Edmond), but the thought of having cute things monogrammed, won me over. We thought this was a precious picture! Riley seems to already be enjoying his thumb!

This is the picture we used to tell our family and friends about our exciting news! We thought it would be fun to take the picture out on the beach. It's fun to rub it in sometimes!!
