Adam and I were discussing how nobody has posted here forever. He came up with something for us to blog about (I can't remember what it was), but said, "we won't use any pictures...that takes too long." or something to that effect.

I thought, No Pictures! That's boring!

So I decided I'd not blog about anything and just post a picture. I opened the upload button and closed my eyes and picked a number (6, hence blog title). I was lucky enough to count down to the sixth folder and have that be pictures. I counted across to the sixth folder in pictures and opened "slide show" (all the pictures from our wedding slide show) and then counted across six again and got a picture that I didn't like, so I decided to count down six and got this. So I kind of cheated, but I like this picture. Adam is such a goober in it. Also, I wore that same headband today, so it was meant to be. 

I told you I wasn't going to blog about anything.

Need Help

Hi Ya'll! I'm doing a little family history and need birth dates, including years! of everyone. I know this is my 3rd or 4th time asking for birthdays, but some of the birthdays I have don't have years. This is what I have so far...nevermind.

I'm missing Travis and Emily, Elijah, and Whitney. So it looks like I'm missing years for most birthdays too, if you wouldn't mind passing those on to me, I'll try to compile them in a file to send to ya'll for your records.

While you're at it, just send me ALL current phone numbers (home, both spouse' cells, etc.) and addresses and an email for each person who owns an email addrses. I'll just start making an address book for our family.

Teaching is Awesome

My school had a Decades Day during spirit week. I didn't do Hat Day or Crazy Hair Day that week because I am just not sure what a professional teacher should dress like on crazy spirit days. I'm a professional, right? But when multiple 1st graders complained, "just a pony tail with a ribbon on crazy hair day?" I had to make a change....

Presenting the scariest teacher-lady you ever did see...oh, Decades Day!

These are two of my girls who were also 80's girls. 

The reactions of the different age groups was wonderful. Most of the first graders had to ask what year I was from, the school secretary was utterly shocked at the awesomeness of my authentic DARE shirt, the 6th graders just kept saying "awesome" and laughing to themselves because I looked like a fool, and when I walked into a second grade classroom I heard one girl whisper in awe "she's beautiful." Oh, man...that little girl is going to grow up and wear too much make up. 

A few other funny things I have overheard while teaching:

"Have you ever tasted blood from the tooth in your mouth?...It's delicious!"

"My sister's butt is huge." (stated very matter-of-factly)

"Mrs. F. is pregnant. I saw her eating crackers!" (Mrs. F. is not pregnant, however, the teacher who the child was reporting this too was pregnant, which the child did not know, and was at that moment eating saltine crackers)

"Oh, I can't wait to get my nose in this one!" (as he picked up a dinosaur book at his reading group. That one made my day)

An Olive Tree

Shelly told me that she would make a loaf of bread into peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, throw the whole loaf in the freezer, and every morning pull out one sandwich for Kirtlan's lunch. Sounded strange, but when bread was on sale, I had to try it. But one loaf of bread is insufficient. This is two loaves of bread, a total of 19 sandwiches. made into 4 different types of sandwiches. I used a whole jar of peanut butter. 

 I got to say, making lunch in the morning is now a whole lot easier. 

On Valentine's Day I came home to this beautiful vase of flowers. I made Adam take this picture before we left for the farm because I was sure they were going to be all droopy when we got back. I am happy to report that our freezing home kept them looking just perfect and every flower looked the same when we returned. It wasn't until the last few days that they started drooping. 

I got to say, they have lasted a whole lot longer than expected.

Date Night

Adam and I just had an interesting date:

1. I got home about 3:30...we immediately had dinner
2. Then we went to play Frisbee in the park
3. Soon I was cold, so he took me to the mall to wander.
4. We came home and ate a third of a chocolate cake (straight off the cake platter that Shelly gave us (THANKS) and with a gallon of milk and a cup sitting close by)
5. Then Adam turned on basketball and I finished filing our taxes

Being married is boring. I love it.
