More Blackmail

These two kill me. I came up the stairs the other day to find Isaac dressed in Livi's Halloween costume and Livi as the horse. Leah may have walked in the door at that same moment and may have thought I made him do this. I didn't.

New Nativity

Livi and I had such a fun time setting this up. I highly recommend the Playmobile set for kids 4 and up. I am always looking for ones the kids can play with.

Snow Day #2

When I came out and saw this I knew they didn't get far shoveling the driveway. I found them quickly going down the hill on the sled. It was so cold out and they didn't last long, but they sure had fun.

Please tell me I am not a genius. Livi's snowboots from last year were too small so we had to improvise. Plastic bags...perfect.




All he ever wants to do is eat the snow.

First Snow Day

Started off with a delicious breakfast of snow. I think Liv had 6 cups. Ethan liked to dip graham crackers in his.

So excited they can hardly contain their excitement.

All bundled up. Yes, I'm aware Livi's coat looks tiny. It is a 3T and we are getting a new one tomorrow. She and Eth are wearing the same size coat. She is just so tall!

We didn't even own a snow shovel. Mike had to borrow one from the neighbors. It was the first thing purchased Monday morning, just in time for him to shovel some more.

He was spoiled by our neighbor. Too bad those suckers cost around $700. Keep shoveling Mike!

All Ethan wanted to do was eat the snow. He wouldn't even look at me.

Hot Mama

Hot mama stayed up way past her bedtime to help me with my Christmas card. Hot mama is a wizard at photoshop. Hot mama is way to nice to her friend with no photoshop skillz. Hot mama really does look hot in this pic. And sorry to kami for chopping your head off. xoxo

Bday Bash Continues

We party hard around these parts.......All Livi wanted to do the day of her birthday was to go on a bike ride up the canyon. Geoff wasn't working that day, so Leah and family headed up with us. Good thing he was there!! What an adventure. Leah and I still can't talk about the day without laughing. The ride started off great when all of a sudden Isaac just drives right off the path and crashes. Geoff gets him back on and he proceeds to do it AGAIN!! We were all dying. After that he refused to ride the bike, so Leah took over for a few minutes. He got back on and was good after we told him no looking back checking on Livi. On the way back down, I assume Livi (who has had the bike 1 1/2 days at this point), should know how to go down a hill. In my defense it was more like slight decline, not a hill! BAD ASSUMPTION. Hallelujah for those wobbly training wheels. She miraculously made it down unscathed, but I was paranoid the rest of the ride.

That night we headed out to the Pizza Factory. Home of the famous free pizza in the shape of your number on your special day. She thought it was great!!

And I drool everytime I look at this. Oh Pazookie, I would really love you right now!

Why??

Mothers Day was Sunday.

Why do we feel the need to take these photos? Note to self: Next year skip the first thing in the morning breakfast in bed photos. Even Ethan thinks it's a horrible idea!

Livi's Present

On Saturday Mike and I took Liv to pick out her new bike. I was pretty shocked she chose this pink/girly thing over the blue bike. I asked her if she was sure like 50 times. Finally she said, "Mom, the girls bikes have white tires and the boy bikes have black tires. I am a girl!" Well then...here is to the big 4 year old and her "2 Cute" girly bike.

It's maiden voyage

Ethan was oh so happy to inherit this bad boy.

Well...he was happy until Katie came out with the silly string.

Olivia turns 4!!!

I know every parent says it.....but I must indulge you all. I CAN'T BELIEVE MY BABY IS 4!!!

Didn't this just happen??

Thanks to this brilliant/creative gal, planning Livi's party was a breeze. (Thanks Caroline!!) Despite the super chilly weather and Moanie being freaked by Mike AKA the clown, it was great. I would like to thank Mike for always indulging this side of me, Megan for her countless hours and painful fingers to help with my pom-pom vision, only to see them trashed hours later, Megan for making the birthday girl look darling, and all our friends who are like family to us. Livi came out on the balcony and said, "It looks beautiful mom!" That made every hour and every penny worth it.

Mike was in charge of the grill and we had delicious hot dogs, homemade salsa, fresh lemonade, lots of fruit, popcorn and cupcakes. It was so much fun!

We played pin the nose on the clown, had a fishing booth and Mike gave us some serious entertainment with his balloon animals he learned for the occasion.

She was in HEAVEN being the center of attention all night.

I think my favorite thing of the whole night was the photobooth. We all had way to much fun!

Heard Lately--Extended version (It's been awhile)

(Background: We follow Super Nanny's time out techniques)

After 3 minute time out was over.......
Mom: Why are you in time out?
Livi: I don't know.
Mom: I told you when I sat you down, do you remember?
Livi: Can you give me a clue?
Mom: We are not playing I-Spy my dear.

Mom: Ethan, did you poop?
Livi (from across the room): No, it's just the smell of my blanket.

We were driving home in the car one night and Ethan was tired/grouchy.
Mom: Do you know who is at home you guys waiting for us?
Livi: Daddy!!!
Ethan: No daddy, MIKE!

The little Miss has turned into quite the teacher/big sister lately. I hear all sorts of hilarious interactions between these two.
Livi: Do you want an apple?
Ethan: No
Livi: Do you mean no, thank you?? You need to say it nicely Ethan.

Livi: Hurry Ethan, we have to clean up before Mr. Hannigan comes (Mike)
The next day she called ME Mrs. Hannigan and I gave her a sad face. She said, "Don't worry mom, you get nice by the end of the movie."

Livi: Mom, have you seen Jacob and Heather?
Mom: Who's that?
Livi: Um....my dogs (said like she could hardly believe I asked)
Mom: Um...no
I heard her a second later walking up and down the halls with her hands cupped over her mouth yelling JACOB...HEATHER???

Livi: I want a chocolate banana cake. Maybe I'll go to chocolatebananacake.com

She was teaching Ethan to go up the ladder correctly at the park. As soon as he did it right she said, "Way to go son!"

Livi: Ethan, be careful because if you eat to much ice cream you'll get brain freeze and if you get brain freeze you'll turn into ice cream and the goblins will eat you!!!!
Me: ???????

Livi: Those ducks swim really well for having no lifejackets! (And yes mom, she said well...such a proud grandma you must be!!)

Grandma & Grandpa Merrill visit

My grandparents came to visit for my cousins graduation and we got them at our house. The kids were so exited to see them. Grandma having goodies in her suitcase only made them more excited. They each got some new books and climbed right up in their laps.



Grandpa stayed a few extra days and the kids loved all the attention.

5 days later---THE ZOO

Can you believe this weather?? It was such a nice day so Jen and I decided to head up the zoo after nap time. We had such a great time and the zoo was so quiet and not busy!

They were THRILLED to be outside and playing.

I took Livi through the tunnels to see the prairie dogs. When we popped our heads up one just happened to be sitting right in front of the tube. Livi, who was already nervous, jumped and screamed. It was hilarious. Does this look familiar Matt??
