Lake Powel with the Hansen Boys

The week of July 4th we headed to Lake Powell with Don's brothers and their families. We had a lot of fun playing in the water. We had some crazy wind storms that mutilated our tents but we survived. I enjoyed puking off the side of the boat...stupid motion sickness!!! Here is some of the fun...

Chloe's first time on the tube.  She loved it!

Hailey cliff jumping.  She did this at least 4 times.  She couldn't get enough.

Lizards...lizards and more lizards.  Every time you turned around Hunter had caught another lizard. He even jumped off a cliff with one on his head.

It took a bit but I got Chloe to hold one.

This is probably my favorite picture from the trip.  It took a lot of convincing on my part and lots of screaming on Ky's part but we finally got her to hold a lizard.

Hailey's Birthday

We happened to be camping at Lake Powell the weekend before Hailey's 7th birthday. What better way to celebrate than with a pirate party! All of the kids got bandannas. They would have had eye patches too but a lovely wind storm blew the package out to sea. They even went on a hunt for buried treasure.

Projects

Hailey's desk...I finally finished the desk I started refinishing at our Craft Cousin day forever ago. Lindsay...I need to to send me the before picture you took. You can't tell from the picture but the top of the desk is painted with chalkboard paint. Hailey loves it.

I bought this dresser at a yard sale for $5...STEAL! And it was even sanded down ready to paint. For some reason I didn't take a picture of it all put back together but it does look quite nice.

Memorial Weekend

Memorial weekend we decided to go boating at Yuba. It didn't work so well. We drove all the way there and the boat decided not to work. instead we found a nice beachy area and played in the sand and the water. It was still fun and the kids loved it.

From the Mouth of Kyley

This child cracks me up!  She says some of the funniest things.  I really need to get better at documenting them. Let me preface this....In the car yesterday morning, Hailey and Kyley were talking about how Santa Claus can see you all of the time and can tell if you are being naughty or nice.  Last night Kyley was outside and I really needed her to go in so I could sneak some things into the house without her seeing them.....finally....

Me:  Ky, Santa is going to put you on the naughty list because you are not obeying.

Kyley:  No he won't!

Me:  Oh really?

Kyley:  Yeah, because I stole his naughty list.

Me:  You did?

Kyley:  Yep, with my rocket boots.  I flew up there and stole it.

Me:  You did?

Kyley (whispering with her hands cupping her mouth):  And we can't give it back to him.

Me:  Why not?

Kyley (still whispering):  Because then he will put me on the naughty list.

All I could do was shake my head.  Where does she come up with this?  Hailey would try to convince me she was good.  No, not Kyley, she tells a whole story and admits she is naughty.

Private?????

I have been debating with the idea of going private.  So if you would either post a comment with your email address or send me an email to threepigtails@hotmail.com so I can start adding all of you.  Most likely I will end up going private in the next few months.  Also....I will post some new pictures soon, maybe this weekend.
