Yesterday was Dan's 28th birthday! It's hard to believe that when we first met and started dating, he was 24. Now in just over a week, I'll be turning 24!
We both had to work on his birthday so we celebrated by going out for dinner at Joey Tomato's. It turned out that we ran into one of Dan's high school classmates there too. She was the one serving us! It was a nice night to get out and spend quality time together.
Through all the years that we've been together, I still love Dan more and more everyday. Happy birthday babe!

I Made the Cut
I can't remember the last time I had my hair this long! I was sort of attached to it, but I hated it at the same time. Anytime I went to pick something up, all I saw was my own hair! Even when I bent down to pet my cats, all they saw was a big hair mass coming to give them love, which I don't think they minded. So last night my sister Tammy set us both up for hair appointments with this great lady in Airdrie for 6:30pm. She first did Tammy's coloring (I've never had my hair colored before, and it was neat to see it being done to someone I know) and then while that was setting in she washed and cut my hair. I was a bit nervous because I hadn't even decided on a nice cut before I got there. I saw one that I liked in one of her magazines while I was waiting for her to finish with Tammy's coloring, so it was literally a last minute choice! But I'm satisfied with the end result.
After she was finished styling my hair, she started cutting Tammy's hair. I would like to see if anyone could find thicker hair than Tammy's hair! Tammy's cut took the longest and she only got a couple inches taken off. Poor Tammy having to deal with that on top of her head everyday! Even her daughter Emma says that it's always poofy. We were there until just before 10:00pm, then I dropped Tammy off at home which was only a few blocks away, and heard Emma tell me that her mom's hair "looked kinda silly". I guess she's not used to seeing it so straight and "normal". I left soon after and I got home at 10:30pm.
I do miss my long hair, but I never did anything with it. I'm really loving my new do though! It's a nice change.

Forgot to Mention...
While we were in Edmonton, Dan finally convinced me to go on this with him:
The huge red one. It took me awhile at the top, but I finally went down! Dan was pretty proud of me because he thought for sure that I wouldn't go down. He first talked me into going on that purple one beside it, and then I don't know how he got me to go on the red one, it was really scary, but I'm glad I was able to experience it.

A New Start to 2010
I have a few 'New Years Resolutions' and I thought that it might be easier to stick with it if I post them on the blog. Here they are, in no particular order:
1. Once again... buy a house! More so stick to a budget to get to this goal.
2. Get back into shape, and eat healthier.
3. Develop a closer relationship with Heavenly Father.
4. Develop a closer relationship with Dan.
5. Spend more time with family, especially with those I don't see very often.
6. Keep in touch with friends, old and new.
7. Up keep our living space better.
8. Be happy. Don't let little things stress me out.
9. Find what I'm good at and stick with it.
10. This one is a 'personal' goal, and it kind of depends on if #1 works out...maybe not. I don't want to jinx it.

New Years Eve 2009!
Wow, Christmas and New Years just came and went by so fast! Dan and I were debating on whether or not we should go away for New Years this year, but in the end we chose to stay. Dan DJ'ed an "All White" YSA party at the China Rose Restaurant (the same place the Halloween party was held). It was a really good turn out too! Mostly everyone was dressed in white so there was a big glow over the crowd with the two huge black lights that Dan brought. I think that Dan did a pretty good job this year with the music. Everyone seemed to have enjoyed their time there. Here are a couple pictures of the "glowing" effect.
Before the party, Dan and I were at Dan's parents' place (who were in San Francisco) as Dan had to load up some DJ equipment for the party, using a U-Haul trailer attached the the Escape. We were there for awhile and ordered pizza for dinner. As we were leaving in separate vehicles, we noticed two police cars coming the opposite way that we were going. We didn't really think anything of it until I noticed a cop car behind me, then shortly after I noticed another one pull up beside me and stay there until he rolled his window down and looked at me. I looked back and then they drove up to Dan and did the same thing. I thought maybe they were just looking for someone in the area, until they turned their lights on Dan when he tried to move into their lane, and then the cop behind me turned their lights on. So we both pulled over, totally confused. A lady cop came to my window as two guys went to Dan's. She tells me right away why they pulled me over. Just keep in mind too, that night the roads were really bad, and we were both going 60 kms in an 80 kms zone, so I knew it wasn't because we were speeding. She told me that there was a call made explaining that their neighbors are away and there were a couple cars outfront with a U-Haul trailer and someone was loading things in from the house. Oh boy. I told the cop that the house was my husband's parents' house and that we store his DJ equipment there. She completely understood, but took my license anyways just in case. She talked with the other cops who were talking to Dan and our stories matched, so they just typed in our names to scan us and it all turned out good. It was a good way to end off the year 2009. We'll definitely remember that one! Oh, and Dan and I figured that it must have been the girl who was watching his parents' cat. She must have drove by the house to feed her and noticed us there. Thanks for calling the cops though, if something really was going down, it's nice to know that their house is under careful watch when they are away.
That night, Dan and I got to bed really late. I didn't get to bed until about 3:30am, and Dan didn't get to bed until about 4:30am. Plus, Dan had to work that next morning. Needless to say, we slept for most of the next day. I can't believe we used to be able to stay up that late and have almost no effect the next day. Those days are long gone though. I need my sleep, or I am a huge grump the next day, and totally not functional.
We have started off 2010, and no complaints! We have been relaxing and spending time together. Last Saturday, we traveled to Edmonton early in the morning, and went swimming at the West Edmonton Mall Waterpark. I thought it would be really busy there, but it wasn't too bad. We left the pool at about 3:00pm, walked around the mall, ate dinner at Boston Pizza, then walked around the mall for a little longer then headed home. It was a nice day trip, and it was good just to get away for a little bit.
