De Ja Vu!

When I was about 11 years old and Brooke was about 2, I was put in charge of my sisters while my dad either studied or went to school for his masters' degree. One night I got in trouble when my dad walked down to find Brooke up on the vanity dancing naked in front of the mirror. I was completely enveloped in the show that was on and didn't hear the loud banging of her feet against the countertop. Well, it's come back to bite me again...

I was reading (can you guess what?!) and something broke through my subconscious. Banging! This is what I found. She was up on the table, dancing, looking at herself in the mirror. Here is the smile she gave as my reward for oblivion...
She's not naked, but she was pretty close. I'd taken her hair out of her piggies to rest and gave her those beautiful "wings." She's so happy. What a goof. Now, I wonder if her daughter will be the same. I'm happy to think that she didn't get it from me- Thanks Brooke!

All put back together again!

So, I thought I'd show you the finished project- although it's not completely finished; we still have the kitchen.

This is my favorite view. I love that it's the first thing you see when you walk in my door. I love the piano. Thanks again mom and dad for selling it to us.
This is the other thing you see right as you walk in our door. I love the way it looks with all the different colors of wood.
Here's proof that I've been helping. I don't have a picture, but I was doing the chop saw, too. ME! I'm so proud of myself. I was pretty sore from the position you see. I was up and down both days!
This is the awesome tool we bought to do the floor. Randy's back hurt from that position. It was all worth it though. I can't wait for Saturday to finish the kitchen. I can wait for the pain though!

Dental Disaster

On Saturday night at about 10:30, Keilie was woke up from her sleep with a tooth ache. She was screaming in agony. We gave her some Motrin, called a dentist in our ward, and finally put her back to sleep. The same thing happened on Sunday night. Monday morning the dentist's office called me and had me bring her in. They took an x-ray and told me that she would probably need a crown on the tooth and to come in on Tuesday. I took Shelby and Brennon thinking it would be a fast procedure- Boy was I wrong.
They gave her two doses of "sleepy water" and had to wait for it to take. It didn't. So, they gave her one of these...
and it still didn't work. By this time it had been an hour with no work done. Shelby was done! She was sick of waiting for her balloon. They let us wait in a little play room which was nice, except now I could see into Keilie's room. They came in to tell me that the tooth had abscessed and would need to be extracted. I wanted to die. This all could have been prevented due to a few things. Anyway, I signed and told them to go ahead and do what was needed. I'm playing with Shelby and look over just in time to see two nurses laying on Keilie and hear her blood curdling screams. I start crying!! Long story short, the dentist had told her the truth, that it was going to be uncomfortable to give her her second shot and that he wanted her to scream as loud as she could. You know my drama queen- she didn't disappoint! Everything is better now- the tooth fairy is on her way- and Keilie once again loves the dentist. She was able to eat dinner without crying and hasn't woke up screaming yet. Who knows- it's only 10:13! I would do anything to take away that memory and pain. Thank goodness for the "sleepy water!" Where's Dr. Sherman when you need him?

Wood Floor update.

So, Thursday after we'd bought the wood, Randy got home, we loaded it into the garage and started on the project. From 8:00 to 10:00 we moved furniture, took off baseboards, pulled up carpet and pad, and pulled out the tack strip. We swept of course and got it all prepped to work.

Here is the first bit. It took Randy two hours to do the first row due to the tile around the fireplace. It juts out just a bit, so Randy had to put in the shims and make sure it was straight, and then start on the fireplace. He had to cut it just right and then sand it to perfection. And when I say perfection, I mean Randy can go overboard a bit. He sure did a great job though. After that... we were off.
Here is the first night. This was about 6 hours of work on Friday night.
I know there is a smudge, but you get the jist. This is after a whole day on Saturday. Randy did most of the work. He let me go out to breakfast with my friends and go to a family fun fest in the afternoon. We all went to Keilie's initiation, so we ended up working till 1:00 AM. As you can see, we made it through the dining room. He also worked hard on the closet that you can't see. We have a few more nights to work, but it's turning out great. Oh, this is a picture from the front wall into the dining room. I LOVE it. We at dinner tonight with our table in place without worry of drinks spilling! Yay.

I Love Daisy's!

On Saturday, Keilie was officially inducted into the Girl Scout program. She is in troop 1104 and loves it. As a group, they sang "I'm a little daisy" sung to "I'm a little teapot." You could hear Keilie singing over all the other little girls. Below you'll see (L to R) Keilie, Carissa, Breanna, and Madyson. Keilie didn't know the motions that well, but she sure knew the words. It was so fun.

Menard's Mania

So, with all the hype about our new Menard's opening, we went to check it out. We noticed right off that their selection on lighting was better. We passed around the idea of putting can lights and hanging lights in our kitchen. Well, we didn't have enough time to really look, so we continued to browse the store. We came to the hardwood flooring. This is another idea we've been passing around. We found one that we liked and moved on. Well, today Randy said that he'd rather do the flooring- after going up to the attic to see the work involved with lighting- and I jumped. I knew that the iron was hot and cooling off quick. Well, we went back today and looked at more of their flooring selection. We found one called Hickory Cedar that looks something like this, maybe a titch lighter....

Well, we both fell in love. However, there was a discrepancy in the price. One area showed it for $3.29/sq. foot, while under the boxes it showed $2.69/sq. foot. Randy calls two people over and has one go find out the price while asking the other about installation. Heather, comes back and says it's the lower price- "thank goodness"- and leaves us to work with Dace for the rest of it. Well, after talking about install Randy decides to find out more about the wood. It turns out that it wasn't $2.69, but actually the higher $3.29. Well, since she'd even double checked for us, we got it for the $2.69. Here's the even cooler thing about it. They're going to have a sale next week and in October- We got an even better deal than both those dates will give!!!!!! So, not only was the iron hot, it was the best iron we could've gotten! I can't wait until we have no more carpet under our dining table and kitchen bar.

Holy Crap!

Ashlee called me yesterday and told me a story that happened this last week to her friend, Emily. I gagged! Emily and her husband, John, moved into their home almost a year ago. They had a home warranty that was about to expire, so they decided to take advantage and have inspections done. On Friday, they had an A/C guy come out to check all the ventilation and A/C stuff. As he walked into their home, John gave the man a glass of water in case he got thirsty and showed him where the bathroom was. The man politely said that he wouldn't be needing it. He went about his business and left. Monday comes along and they get an insulation guy to come and look at their home. He comes down from the attic and says to John, "There is no easy way to say this, so I'll just come right out and say it. Someone has PEED and POOPED in your attic recently and wiped themselves up there!" AAAAGGGGGHHHHHHH! Well, the only person that had been up there was the A/C guy! YUCK! Needless to say- they are getting it cleaned out and stuff, but I couldn't believe it. How nasty is that! Emily, of course was disgusted, but was also asking Ashlee if their house stunk since they'd been over on Friday(the day the feces went flying). Ash assured her that she hadn't smelled anything. How sad is that. What would you have done? Cause I'm coming up blank!

Confessions

My friend Stacy wrote some confessions on her blog and I loved them. So, here are some of mine...

1. I shower every other day. My doctor said it's better for you hair. It also helps my skin stay supple.
2. I leave my bathroom as the last room to get cleaned in my house. It's the most neglected of any other room. I sanitize the front bathroom every other day though.
3. I have to have all of my doors touching the door stoppers. It bothers me to have them away from the wall when open.
4. I love dressing up and getting "all" ready, no matter if I'm over dressed or not. I don't get the chance to enough.
5. I'm a compulsive "trasher." I throw things away if they become clutter. My theory is if you haven't used it in the last six months, you won't remember when it's not there.
6. I love to sit in the bath- wasting gallons of water- just to read a book and relax. Most of the time it's Twilight I'm reading- but I'm sure you could have guessed that!
7. Sometimes I get so behind on laundry that we have to find the cleanest shirts for the kids to wear. That is the day I try to catch up- and always fail!
8. I put my kids to bed at 7:00 PM after changing the clocks to say 8:00 PM. I lie to my kids every night! But I just can't get enough!
9. I spoil my meals on a consistent basis by eating candy and junk food. When I say consistent- I mean every time Randy goes out of town.
10. I check my blog, email, and foxnews 4 times a day- at least. No kidding

Mamma's Boy

I've been trying to capture my favorite little face so much, so I've had my camera out for everything you can imagine. We were out enjoying a nice day and Brennon was in such a good mood. I finally got some good ones of his cute cherubic face. He's not too photogenic, but wins you over in person. Now, you can see what I see.

Rain, Rain come and play

It has been raining on and off all day today and Caden couldn't wait to finish his homework to go out and play. He made his own umbrella. He thought that since it was raining he would be able to fly his kite with the wind. It's only a slight breeze, so he thought of a better use for his kite. He found many worms to love and cherish!

Fantasy Weekend

On Friday at 3:00 PM I was off on a kid/testosterone free weekend. We were officially on our way to Fort Collins, Colorado for 30 hours of food, friends, shopping and fun. I couldn't wait. Here's Kimberly, Me, and Darlene as designated "back seat drivers!"
Here's Kim and Kimber as "Preggo" front seaters. If you'll notice 3 out of the 5 are Kimberly's. Darlene and I are definitely left out! It's easy for them to all use different names though! Thanks for driving, Kim. And thanks Josh for cleaning it out so much. It was a nice ride.
We went to Texas Roadhouse for dinner. We called ahead and were able to walk right in to eat. It worked out perfectly.
Because we were able to get dinner so fast, we were able to make the movie. We went to see House Bunny. It's definitely not one I would see with Randy. It was a chick flick that I will never see again!
That night we went back to the hotel, exchanged "favorites" gifts and played a game. I definitely divulged the most information, but wouldn't trade the laughing that came from it. I LOVED getting to know my friends better. We stayed up talking till 3 AM. It's funny that when I'm home I can hardly keep my eyes open at 10 PM, but I didn't feel too tired at 3. It was definitely a once in a lifetime thing. We woke up to shop at 8:00 AM. I can't believe we made it all day! Here is all of our finds. I love outlets.
We ate at Red Robin before we left and loved the food there. It was fun to go to stores that we don't have here in Casper. We made it home at 8:00 PM, where the kids were all in bed. Randy had our new hot tub warm and ready. I ended up talking to Randy until 10 PM. I guess all the talking and fun was the reason for my onset of Laryngitis. So, I won't be talking for a while! Thanks girls for making it the most memorable weekend. I won't soon forget it.

Recently I've made the mistake of taking my most treasured gift for granted. You- The faceless Knight in Shining Armor of my girlhood dreams. You are exactly the man I'd always wanted and more. I'm so grateful for everything you do. So, as I'm about to leave you for a day and a half with our "blessings" I want you to know I'll be thinking about you. Especially when I get out of the car and not have to worry about anyone else but myself. Especially when I order dinner for myself without thought of anyone else sharing. Especially when I sleep in a room without the thought of kids waking me up. And most when I say my prayer tonight and Thank my Heavenly Father for the best thing that has every happened to me- YOU! So, just know that now that my Knight has a face, his heart is with me tonight. I dedicate this song to you! I love you my handsome prince.
