This blog is a mess, but I still use it.
So this blog has essentially been the source for me to share picture links or ideas - and here's another one.
I am going to be working on some new projects and to tie in personal interest with business, I figure I might as well plan out my forces to paint for the future.
I've always been interested in the Punic Wars - not just Rome VS Carthage, but also, Greece vs Carthage. I am wanting to do some Hoplites and Italians to fight for Syracuse against the Carthaginians in Sicily. I figure this would be a great way to start planning. I recently bought the Theban box set of victrix hoplites, with lets me have x16 men per unit (total 3 units) - so I can already make a nice force for Hail Caesar.
Anyways here is the plan
Mercenary Hoplite Forces:
x3 units of Heavy Hoplite Mercenaries (Theban and mix) - 16 men a unit
x1 unit of Gaestraphates (belly bow)
x1 unit of medium ballista (artillery)
x1 unit of Light Infantry Archers
x1 unit of skirmishing archers?
The Italian Allies:
x4 units of medium infantry - 16 men a unit
x1- 2 light infantryunits
x1 light cavalry skirmishers
x2 medium cav
I'm basically using the Samnites type forces I have to align with the greeks. to fight carthage.

Hello everyone! The first Heraldic Waterslide Decal Kickstarter was quite a hit, so I decided to continue on with the series and work on the next set of waterslide decals. I just released the pre-launch page for the next batch and you can now follow it on Kickstarter: https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/destroycarthago/heraldic-waterslide-decals-for-wargaming-part-2
In the first project I focused on a sort of Bretonnian style by presenting the decals in rows of 9. One row would give you a single colour of an animal or mythical creature and included the same image facing left 5 times while the other 4 images faced right. This time I've changed the format of the decal sheets - now instead of 9 of the same image with different facings, there is only 5 images and now a single row has 10 images total. That means I can have more image variation per sheet and there's more decals per sheet as well. Additionally, I've experimented and decided to include miniature versions of some of the decals that worked out in tracing for people who want to include multiples of the same image on a shield or banner.
Totally unrelated, picture to share on LEAD Adventure.
