Farm Days

This week it was Farm Days at COSI so we decided to hit it up and see what was going on. We showed up at 4pm and the place almost completely dead. (When we got there three buses were being loaded up so we missed all the Y kids.)

The first thing we looked at were chicken eggs in an incubator. I tried to get a picture of Mason looking at the eggs but as soon as I said chicken he wanted nothing to do with the display. (He kept touching his nose and saying, "no chicken bite mas nose." I guess the chicken pecking his nose at grandma's house left a mark.)

Outside Mason got to sit in a few different types of farm equipment. And there was no lines so he got to play and touch every single button twice.



They had a track set up for tractor races. Mason did really well pedaling the tractor on the first lap, the second lap was a different story. The COSI volunteer ended up pushing him around the track.We also got to "milk" a cow. I even let Ethan out of the stroller to give it shot at milking but running was way more fun.


After checking out the Farm we still had time left so we hit up the indoor play area. Ethan loves this place. I tried to get a bunch of cute pics of him playing but he was running around so quickly that he's either a blur in the photo or I completely missed him. Ethan is awesome at climbing. He's worse the Mason ever dared to be. I guess he spent too much time watching Mason and picking up on what he was doing. He is almost able to climb out of his crib now. Sadly just as he gets to the top of the rails he falls back and and snags his leg between the rails and gets stuck.

At COSI Mason pretty much sticks to this one place. I can leave him to chase Ethan around and I know he will still be playing with the trains when I come back to check on him. Mason has now taught Ethan to say CHOO CHOO and somehow they both know when we are getting ready to cross some train tracks because they both start chooing before we make it the the tracks. Lately Mason has also been lining up all of his toys, food, etc and makes a big train out of them. And then says, "Look Mama, a train. A train. choo choo."

Touch a Truck

This weekend we went to Touch a Truck at Homestead Park.  And we were lucky enough to have Daddy join us.  The boys enjoyed playing with all the horns and sirens and buttons.

We also saw a fire truck (Mom was NOT allowed to get in the fire truck!), a garbage truck, and a school bus.  

 

After Touch a Truck we headed to McDonalds.

Bubble Bath

I thought that it was be super fun to fill up the bath tub with tons of bubbles for the boys.  There was maybe an inch of water under all the bubbles.  Mason loved it and Ethan enjoyed it for about 10 minutes. 

Ethan's 1st birthday

Ethan had fun on his Bday. He started the day going to the pediatrician. Then it was lunch time with the family. Krystee picked me up and we went out. When I came home from work we opened presents (Mason helped) and then had cake and ice cream. Krystee made the cake herself. It's hard to believe this little dude has been around for a year.

West Virginia, Mountain Momma

So I finally had another week of vacation so we decided to take a small trip to the In-Laws West Virginia. We left on Tuesday since I took Monday off for a special golf day. Played alright too. Bogied a 245 yd par 3, with water traversing the fairway at 200-220 yds. Danny had been fixing up Krystee's old go cart and was waiting for the new engine to come in. Well it came so when the gals and kiddos came back from getting hair cuts it was go time.

Christmas Photo!

Every time I tell Denton its time for new pictures he looks at me like I'm crazy. This was only the second time I've attempted to get pictures of both boys together and was very grateful that Denton was there to help wrangle at least one child. The photographer took a dozen or so pictures and only two had both boys looking at the camera and only one of them both smiling. The above picture was the very first one that she took. And we only needed one! I guess they weren't messing around!

Family Night

Last night was OhioHealth employee night at the Columbus Bluejackets hockey game. And who can say no to free tickets?  We had a blast! Unfortunately the Bluejackets lost. 

 At the beginning of the game Mason was super excited and kept dancing to every song that was played.  That excitement wore off within the first 6 seconds of the game.  Luckily no one was sitting directly in front of Mason and we brought cars and snacks.  When the Bluejackets scored Mason got super excited and started clapping and cheering with everyone else. 

 Ethan was a champ during the game.  He just sat on our laps and talked to everyone sitting around us.  He fell asleep during the game right before we left and as soon as we stepped outside and the cold wind hit him  he immediately woke up.

Mason is dancing in the above picture.  We taught him to dance in his carseat where he can only moved his arms. So now everytime he hears music he'll yell dance and start shaking his arms.
