Malaia is getting so big.  She had a fun birthday.  We started the day at the Rec Center.  She did kids zumba, while Dylan played basketball and I work outed.  Her zumba class even sung Happy Birthday to her!  Then we went to the grocery store and when she got her free cookie (actually it was a donut) the bakery ladies sung to her too!

That night, we had Chicken Alfredo for her birthday dinner (however she choose not to have chicken in hers).  She opener her card from Grandma Brown and we went to the mall to get spend the money.  We didn't tell Malaia where we going.  She was so excited when she realized where we were going!  She picked out to "build" the My Little Pony, Rainbow Dash!  The helper lady was so cute and fun as they built her.  Malaia decided to name her pony, Rainy.  Malaia has pretty much taken Rainy with her everywhere this week!

When we came home, she blew out her candles and opened her presents.  She was very excited to have new earrings.  She hasn't changed her earrings since we had them pierced when she was 9 months old!  She has watched Frozen everyday since Monday.  I have to limit her to once a day or I think she would watch a lot more!  For  bedtime we read her new book for her bedtime story.  Malaia said she had a very good birthday!

The kids' school on the last day of school have a Dance Festival where every grade dances for their parents.  The kids have fun and I love watching it every year!

Swim Lessons

 

Dylan and Malaia have been in swim lessons for the past 2 weeks.  They love it!  This is Malaia's first time and she is very comfortable in the water.  I've had Dylan in lessons once a year for a few years.  When I was signing him up this year, I could not remember what level he was in.  I guessed and put him in Level 5.  Well, the first day, I knew I had put him in the wrong class when they immediately went to the deep end.  The teacher at the end of the class came over to me and said he would do better in the Level 4.  I couldn't agree with her more.  He did great in level 4 and I think that was the best level for him.  However, I happened upon his paper from last year and he was in Level 2.  Oops!  Oh well, I think he did very well in Level 4 and they definitely did more swimming in Level 4 than Level 2.

The last day of swim lessons they go down the tube slide.  My kids' were definitely looking towards it!  I'm proud of Malaia of not getting scared at the last minute.   Dylan did awesome swimming from the end of the tube to the stairs to get out!

 

 

 

Going to See Santa

A couple of Saturdays ago, we went to the mall to go see Santa.  Malaia did really well and no hesitation stay on Santa lap.  She told him she wanted a baby doll for Christmas.  He asked her questions and she was answering him.  I was quite amazed because she is normally shy around people.   I guess she is coming out of her shell! 

Too bad this is the only picture we got of all three of them looking at the camera.  I guess blurry is better than nothing.

I think Dylan thinks he is too big to sit on Santa lap because he looks like he didn't want to.  Dylan told Santa he wanted clothes and Sonic Colors.  He kept saying all he could think of was clothes.  I guess he doesn't do well under pressure.

And it starts.....

 

The Toy R Us Christmas toy catalog came the other day.  It has turned into one of Malaia's favorite book to look at.  This day she was telled what she wanted to get for her baby.  Also, she was very insistant that we get her a new cart aka grocery cart.

Just having Fun

Malaia was just watching tv and I decided to play with my black & white setting on my camera.  I think it took some pretty good pictures.  It doesn't help that my "subject" is so cute!

Pumpkin Carving and Halloween

Due to our (mostly mine) crazy schedules in the evening.  We didn't carve the pumpkins until right before trick or treating.  But at least it happened at all.  We scooped out the guts the night before and then carved the faces the next evening.  Since we did them quickly this year they aren't anything too fancy, but we liked them all the same.
