Devon & Santa

Devon wasn't too fond of the man in the red suit... shortly after this picture was snapped he turned to look at the person holding him & erupted in tears (unusual for him at the time). Hopefully that will change in a few years.

Devon's New Ride

We got a walker for Devon a little before Christmas. He figured it out right away, and loves to go cruisin' around the house, honking the horn the entire time. He really loves going in reverse! He gets into all kinds of mischief while he's "mobile," which has given us just a little taste of what it will be like when he REALLY starts walking on his own.

Thanksgiving Highlights

We spent Thanksgiving day in Ft. Worth with my family.I'm not quite sure where my mother found the time for making these elaborate turkey cupcakes, but they were a big hit! I think my mom had as much fun making them as everyone else did eating them!
My sister's son received a skateboard for his birthday & was very eager to learn how to ride it. Since no one in our family had ever ridden one (successfully) except for Matt, he was quickly elected as instructor. Of course, all of the cousins got in on the action. It wasn't long before they became very creative & found different ways to have fun with it!

We also celebrated my brother's daughter's birthday while we were all together. She is lucky that her birthday is always on or near Thanksgiving so she gets special treatment while everyone is together during that time!

The next two pictures are my FAVORITE! Unfortunate for them, my sister & sister-in-law were caught on camera making some fun faces. I hope they won't hate me forever for posting them.

His hair is much too long to do that now.The big finale: Devon had been doing the "military crawl" for quite some time & we were beginning to wonder if he would ever get his belly off the floor & do the "real thing." He did it for the first time at Grandma's house the night before we left! Grandma was so excited she got to see it!

Yes, he still loves his jumper... maybe not quite as often, but it's still fun for him sometimes.

Devon went through a phase where he wanted to eat any baby food that fell onto his bib... he doesn't do it anymore though... I guess he figured out it wasn't worth the effort. :)
Devon loves it when Daddy comes home for lunch & some play time! His face just lights up anytime Matt walks through the door.

Ruler of the Kingdom

Devon has his own little play area set up in the living room downstairs. We call it his "kingdom."

Standing Up Devon

I recently posted about the first time Devon sat up on his own. I remember Matt saying at the time, "I bet he'll be standing up on his own in just a few days." Well, he was right! It was only about a couple of weeks later on November 14 when I walked into Devon's room to get him up from his morning nap, and he was standing up! As you can see, he was very pleased with himself! Being the non-stop jumper he is, shortly thereafter he discovered the endless fun of jumping in bed... and it never gets old for him. Even now, it is most likely I will know Devon is awake because I can hear the springs of the bed as he jumps around, not because he is babbling.

Fireside Fun

Devon loves dogs... not just Harley & Lexi, but any dog. He just giggles & laughs anytime he sees a dog.

This was the first time Devon sat up by himself for the first time. I walked in to get him out of bed from his morning nap & he was sitting up playing with his blankets!

Seahorse Snuggles

Devon loves his seahorse. It's like a gloworm... its belly lights up & it plays soft music to help him fall asleep.
