Putting up the Crib & making cookies with Dad

We moved Corbin into his crib the end of May. After we set it all up we made oatmeal cookies with Clint.  The kids were so excited to help, especially Corbin.  He had so much fun playing with the oatmeal container.  After Cookies were made and Corbin was a mess we stuck him in the bath.  This was his first bath sitting up all alone.  He was quite excited about it.

May catch up/ Safety Day

There are lots of things I didn't blog about that happened in May b/c I didn't have my camera card wking so I forgot about them, but now I have my card out and the pics so here we are playing catch up.  Get ready for lots of pics and posts.

We went to Safety day in Ogden.  We had lots of fun and the kids got to get handcuffed, got to sit inside a fire truck, get their faces painted, sit inside a helicopter, learn bike safety, get lots of candy and jump around inside a tumble bus.

Surgeries

Conner started out this month with Ear tubes put in as well as having his adenoids removed.  A while back I blogged about not being able to understand Conner and all the problems he was having b/c of it.  The result was to see an audiologist who then sent me to an ENT.  After going to the ENT for 3 months and having him check and recheck Conner the surgery was set.  We discussed the possibility of needing to take out his adenoids due to engorgement.  It turned out that they were HUGE and they needed to come out.  For about a week after having the tubs in place Conner had a ton of drainage.  He usually gets a cold every 4-6 weeks or so.  It hasn't been 4 weeks yet, but already we can tell such a difference in his speech.  He is starting to talk more clear and only has the normal age appropriate misunderstandings with his speech now.  The change in him has been great and I am so grateful we got it done.  Conner was great too.  The only thing that was traumatic for him was the IV in his arm when he first woke-up.  After he got more sleep he was mildly annoyed with it, but there was no more screaming.

A week later and he had another surgery to fix a botched circ that happened when he was born.  We have been waiting 2 1/2 years to get this fixed.  We went to Primary Children's and they were so great with him.  He did a great job and wasn't scared at all.  He is now jumping and playing like a normal 3 yr old and I doubt he will remember either surgery when he gets older, for which I am VERY grateful!

7 months

I was going to wait for the pics I took of him, but since I don't think I'll be getting them anytime soon I'll just post this and add a pic later.

Corbin at 7 months has been really fun.  He LOVES to eat and is my best eater.  There are only a couple of things he doesn't like: carrots, bananas and ham.  He'll gag all of these things down though if I give them to him, he'll just be sure to give a little shiver and a funny look as they go down.  He can sit alone now and LOVES the new freedom it has given him.  He can roll from back to front or from front to back, but prefers to just fuss until we give him what he wants.  He enjoys paper, to play with it and eat it.  He is starting to use baby sign to communicate with me.  He loves the water and practically jumps out of our arms to get to the shower of the bath every time we pass by the bathroom.  He enjoys going for walks and being outside with his siblings.  He thinks Kaily is the funniest person ever.  He gives great hugs and pats our back to show an added measure of affection.  he sleeps great now, as long as he can sleep next to me.  We are working on him sleeping a full night in his own bed.  he likes to play with Conner and loves it when Conner pretends to read to him, or tells him stories.  I think they'll be great buds as they get older.

I can't believe how fast time is flying by.  I just want to him to stay little longer.  I am enjoying each of these months more than I did with the other two, I think.  I'm in no rush for him to grow up.

I sat down to DL my pics tonight and my camera ate my SD card.  I can't get it out.  So, I guess we'll have to wait for those pics after all.  I hope someone can get it out.  It might be time for a new camera or at the least a new SD card....

Busy

Things around here have been a bit busy lately.  Clint finished yet another semester at Weber and we survived Kaily's first year of school.  She finishes up next Friday.  We have been to LOTS of Dr. appointments and two surgeries for Conner.  Various sicknesses and amidst all that Corbin turned 7 months, I should get those pics up.  We have been planting our garden and playing in the sun, when there is sun that is.  I have gone back to the gym and my house wk has been lagging behind b/c I would rather spend time with my kids than do laundry.  SO...in the next few weeks expect some new posts to catch up on what we have been doing and some pics as well.
