Trouble brewing in the kitchen.

Dan with his new Christmas sweater. Love it. Cold out, warm in. Mmmmm.

Cool Rooster. If we had a matching hen, we could have cast iron eggs. Mmm.

IS THIS WINTER, OR SOMETHING?

Let's see . . . my nose turns red when I go out, the back door plows snow when I open it, it takes 10 minutes to clear the truck windshield, sometimes there are tiny diamonds in the sun on everything, and Spencer goes #2 on his tiptoes. Yep, I think it's winter!

Rubber cobra

Moussie having a ball. So to speak.

Signs of the season

A STORY OF A SLEEPYTIME ODYSSEY

Asleep. 4am. Groggy, wha'? What time is it?
Clock radio is dark. Roll over. Umgnnhjpkersk!
Roll back. Maybe I flailed in the night and knocked the radio around.
Move it. Nothing. It's dead, Jim. Ahh, winter: cold, big wind. Powerlines down.
Ok. Philosophical.
Roll over. Z. Z. Z.
Furnace is running. Hunh! Ah. Must be running on internal power saved up.
Ahhhh, geez. It doesn't have internal power.
I know! Half the power company wire to the house blew down.
So only half our circuits are working. Brilliant mind, Dan.
Get out of bed. Wander. Hunh! Other lights are on . . .
Microwave clock is on. Hunh! I dunno, but I don't smell burning wiring, so ...
back to bed. Cannot sleep. OH, I GET IT, NOW. It is 7 degrees out, so
it's probably 18 degrees in the garage.
Air compressor oil is frozen solid. Compressor turns on by itself. Cannot rotate.
The load trips the breaker.
Out of bed . . . schglrbimffunk . . . Yep, breaker is flipped.
Insanely flip breaker on. It flips back off.
Great Whilikers.
Back to bed. Maybe . . . maybe another half hour of blessed sleep.
Check compressor . . . yawn . . . later.
Z. Z. Z.

Winter has officially come to Moscow, Idaho. After near record warm weather, including NO snow after Thankgiving, we have gotten lazy, sleazy, and jaded. Well, we were that before the snow, but this is HAAAARD to get used to, folks! 9 degrees, last night. V-v-v-v-v-v . . .

The worms are wearing little, tiny fur robes inside those apples!

Art is where you find it.

Don't worry . . . this is from last year. Just getting ready.

Phunky Phish Foto . . . Really! There was a fish, there, but something electronic must have happened, cuz that looks a lot like high-voltage plasma. Hmmm.

Baltimore architects are certainly. . . geometric, aren't they?

Dave, Ron, Chris, and Sean lunching

Dan found some cool photos taken in the construction inspection part of his job. (He likes the big, orange thingies that move around going, "Vroom, Vroom!"

Finishing touches are really easy when someone else does them.

It starts to come together at the point that we are making more progress than we're losing.

Kitchen work requires a lot of thought before action.

Glad you could make it! We are enjoying the fall weather and colors. the UI homecoming parade was held this morning, and what a great day for it.

Dan led a Rake n run event with the Jr High church youth group kids. He mentioned something about the value of having highschoolers along . . . they work! Even being so late in the season, the weather has been so nice that most of the leaves still have not fallen. Odd.

We are still finishing up our kitchen remodel . . . a threshold here, a box to empty there . . .

I have some pictures to illustrate how thorough of a job it has been.
