What a relief to know what Lilly has! She has a staff infection in her rib. This is serious yet treatable. The doctors were relieved to find this as were we! They put in a pic line yesterday to administer the antibiotics. She will be on antibiotics for 6 weeks. She is as happy as a lark
We are all so grateful. This is strange and really none of the healthcare pros seem to have seen this in a rib like this.
I have to say I think I witness one of the sweetest moments I have ever seen. Last night Ella got to come and visit. It was very late and she was very tired, when she came into the hospital room she was kind of scared and unsure about Lilly( asleep in a hospital crib). At the end of the visit Lilly woke up, the two little sisters were delighted to say the least to see each other. They were caressing each others faces and hugging each other I have never seen this kind of sweet emotion in such tender innocent little ones. It is a moment and feeling I will always treasure.

they were unable to really get enough liquid out to really get a culture, however they are trying. So now they are giving us the choice to goin and do the more aggresive surgery and get it all out or to try antibiotics just incase it is a bacteria that can be penetrated. I really dan't like whenq the doctors really don't know so they leave it up to us. They are all scratching there heads about it. The surgeon really doesn't really want to do the surgery because of where it is in the chest but infecios desease doesn't think we really have a choice. We are just deciding probably going to start antibiotic although it may not work we will just try before doing anything risky! The good news and also part of what is making this challenging is that she is doing well really she's pretty happy! Thank everyone for love support and prayers!

Just wanted to give a little entry of our last week. Last Wed Lilly started having a fever again a nd Thurs. she also had a fever I had also noticed that she had been a little bit uncomfortable when we would pick her up under her arms. On Thursday I luckily noticed that her left breast was larger than her right(at first i just thought she was gaining weight then noticed the asymetry). I was probably alamed mainly because she had just gotten over her synovitis, that itself was strange enough. So I tried making a few calls on thurs to pediatrians or to someone who could help however i still had no answers. Friday morning when lilly woke up she just didn't look right and as much as I hesitated I took her to the Ross clinic. They drew blood and sent it off to the capital. we pretty much went on with our day as normal. That evening the Dr. from the clinic called me and said her esr level was 107 normal for her age would be 4-20. She also said that they advised that I go home to take care of this. I was a little bit scared of course and very sad to leave Cory but we booked flights for Sat and booked a flight for my dad to meet us in Puerto Rico. We were all very sad leaving Cory he was vert sad as well knowing it would take alot to be together again. The kids were as good as I could have ever dreamed getting to Puerto Rico however I was so glad to have my dad for our big day of travel. Sunday night we got in and Daryl and Kelly took the older children back to Show low and Stephanie and my Dad came with me to the airport.
We had to go through the emergency room. She gave the poor resident ear damage we are sure. They drew more blood and took chest exrays and a catscan, this showed us a spot on her 5th rib with fluid around it. They got all of the Dr.s thinking they formed a team of drs. oncology, surgery, and infecious desease. This was a little bit hard because Monday was a holiday for some of them. Anyway, Tuesday they decided to do a little asperation of the fluid to try and get some amfd

It is pretty much a love hate relationship with the island at this point! We are all doing well and hope all is well at home. My computer connecting to the internet, hope to be able to fix that soon so I can call people again miss everyone!

Sunday was my birthday! Cory made it a nice day for me he took over the kitchen and we had a delicious chocolate cake also! These are pics of us in front of our branch building in Portsmouth.

Also today I went with our play group to Batibou bay I was brave and ventured out of the city without Cory! We took a public transport to the top of the trail about a 20 min drive and then took a beautiful hike down to the beach. I was carrying Lilly in a backpack another bag and Ella for part of the time, however it was worth it! It was sooooo beautiful Carter had so much fun and it was just our group and a couple of coconut collecting men. There were a ton of medium sized lizards, crab, tiny hermit crab and I even saw a little snake.

Yesterday on the way home from school we watched two hungry dogs chase down a chicken it was quite the experience for the kids and I. I guess I am glad the kids are sensitive, they just keep talking about that poor chicken!

We are doing great here.
