playing in the snow with Auntie Ally

The boys went sledding with their aunt. They have so much fun playing with her and they love the snow. This is before the big Christmas storms so there is a lot more snow now.

D-Girl wants to say something poetic about the grapes.
"And thus we see, under winter's frost, a sweet reminder of summer's bliss."
Here's one from Wordsworth.
"Thou little child yet glorious in the might
of heav'n born freedom on thy being's height
Why with such earnest pains dost thou provoke
the years to bring the inevitable yoke
Thus blindly with thy blessedness at strife.
Full soon thy soul shall have her earthy freight
and customs lie upon thee with a weight
Heavy as frost and deep almost as life."

It's so fun to see snowballs splat against the garbage can. There's something pretty poetic about it.

pirates

The boys were playing pirates with the parrot Daddy made.

We put four bird feeders up outside of this big window. No birds yet but we'll keep looking.

Here is our official Chirstmas picture.

Flour prep

Thanksgiving is a time for baking, oh what yummy things we are making... to quote one of our kids story books.
Here we see the ancient art of combining whole wheat and unbleached white flour in a methodical mixing system of mincing and mashing by our skilled flour artisan.

We knew that the job was complete when shen boy started to wash his hair with the powdery mixture.
