Merry (early) Christmas!!!

Since we're going up to Idaho for real Christmas, we decided to have our personal Christmas early so we didn't have to bring all the presents up there... :) It was fun! I got Jer a really cool condenser mic so he can record his music at home! He got me a cool sewing machine and a pair of giant feetsy jammies :) I am so ready for the cold weather now! We're leaving on Wednesday! See you all soon!!!!

Big Boy Updates

So we went to Cohen's 4 month check-up today... He is 16 lbs 2 oz and 24.5 in long!!! He is such a big boy! :) I can't believe how fast he's growing already! Time is flying by so incredibly fast... Anyway, the doc gave the green light for feeding my little chunk rice cereal once a day. Co was already wanting my food so bad and he has all the other signs of being ready for food. So we'll see how he does :) Here are a couple pics that I took yesterday. He is sitting up really well (with help). And in these pics, he's getting help from his Bumbo :) I love this thing! I just put him in his Bumbo in front of the mirror and he justs laughs and smiles at himself for quite a while... this is when I usually take a shower :) It's so fun watching him get older and bigger every day! I can't imagine not being able to see it... I am so glad that I can stay home with him! :)

So, on another note, we're leaving for Idaho on the 17th and get back down here on Jan 5th. We'll be up there for 2 and a half weeks!!!! I am SOOOO excited! I warned Cohen that he was going to be mauled by his family that never gets to see him and that he's not even going to see the floor for almost 3 weeks :) (I don't think he'll mind....) :) Everyone is so excited to see him and I can't wait to spend my favorite holiday with my favorite people - my family.

Cohen has been laughing like this now... :) It's so cute! He likes to be startled and then he'll look at you a second and start giggling! I can't believe how fast he's growing!!! Crazy!

New Tricks :)

Newest news is that Cohen finally figured out how to grab his toys and stick them in his mouth :) He enjoys the little toy rings the best because he can get his hands around them!

Also, he is trying SO hard to roll from his back to his belly! He just can't figure out how to get past his bottom arm though, and then he gets frustrated...

Happy Halloween!

So I know it's about two weeks late, but here's a cute pic of Cohen in his Tigger costume on Halloween! We didn't go anywhere, but it was just too cute for him not to wear! :)

So i have been talking for a long time about wanting to try being a brunette... i finally did it the other day and it doesn't look too bad. It's a little lighter brown than i thought it was going to be, but i like it! it was time for a change... :)

Big Boy

2 months...

On Thursday, the 16th, Cohen had his 2-month Well Baby check-up. He is currently a whopping 13 pounds 2 ounces and 24 inches long! He is in the 90th percentile for his weight and the 75th for his height. The doc said he's big, but he carries it well because he's so long :) Co also got his first round of immunizations... I felt so bad when he was screaming, but I know it was the right thing to do... The rest of the check-up went ok. Nothing more exciting. Everything is going great!




At home things are going good also. He is so strong with holding up his head! He just got a new swing toy that he likes and makes it easier on me when I have stuff to do around the house. :) It's the Fisher Price Aquarium travel swing. I bought the Aquarium tummy mat for him a while ago and he loves the fish, so I decided to get the same brand of swing. He loves watching the fish swimming as he swings back and forth :)
As I said, he's getting really big and heavy! It's hard for me to carry him in his carrier anymore because it hurts my back. And he has grown out of all his 0-3 month clothes! He has a really long torso so all his clothes are too short... :( Gramma Leslie just bought him a few new pairs of jammies because he had 2 pairs he fit in! So thanks Gramma Leslie! :)

i seem to have the hardest time putting the camera down... whether it's the digital or my camera phone, it like a constant baby photo shoot everywhere we go :) i just can't help myself! he's just so cute!!!

Tummy Time

He is doing really good at lifting up his head and holding it for a while... He's a strong little boy! Although it'll be nice when he can hold up his own head because then i'll have a free hand :)

My little boy is just smiling all the time now! But this is the best pic Jer and i could get of him because it comes and goes so fast it's hard to capture, but soon i will get a really good pic! :)


He has just recently discovered his hands, too... He tries to shove his whole fist into his mouth :) And just the past few days he has been trying to separate his thumb away from his other fingers. He tries to get his thumb with his tongue! it's really cute and he will master the skill very soon!!

Big Boy Clothes...

This is the first real outfit i've put him in... Usually he just hangs around the house in his diaper :) He actually cries when i dress him! i guess i've got a little boy who prefers to be naked :)

Chunky Monkey!!!

So we went to the pediatrician on Wednesday for Cohen's one-month check-up... he's doing really well; holding his head up great, all healthy and growing big! He is now 10 lbs 10 oz and 22 1/2 in long!!! The doc said that if he didn't know better, he'd say Cohen looks 2 months instead of 1 :) Well he'd better be gaining a lot of weight with how much the kid eats! He's still eating about every 2 hrs during the day and every 2-5 at night... Oh well, things will start slowing down soon...


The news with me is that i just learned how to crochet... i know... i never really thought i'd become domestic enough to learn how to crochet, but i actually really liked it! My first project was a blanket for Co. i started it on Friday and finished it on Sat!!! it went really fast once i got the hang of it :) Here's a pic of the finished product:

Little Cutie

Such a big boy!

So we started Co on his first bottle last week and he did great! He has had no trouble with the transition... I decided to pump and let dad feed him an evening feeding :) I wanted some extra bonding time for the two of them and so far it's going great :)

Transatlanticism

Well, our first night trying to get Cohen to sleep in his own bed went incredibly well! i put my iPod at the bottom of his bassinet and played Transatlanticism by Death Cab for Cutie over and over... he slept in his bed all night! he slept longer periods between feedings and when he was done, i put him back in the bassinet and pushed play on the iPod again and he was out! it was amazing! i'd much rather transition him out of the music later. i think that will be easier... so, that's it! i hope tonight goes just as good, but we'll see :)

Hello everyone...

So i know that it's been a couple weeks since i've updated, but my friend Tricia was here for those 2 weeks and we've been busy having fun! :)
Now on with the update....
My little man is no longer a little man! he's chunky already! i have no idea what he weighs but he has a doctor's appointment on Monday, so we'll find out then... :) so life as a mom is going pretty good so far! he has a little trouble sleeping, but he does relatively well. he wakes up every 2 hours or so to eat, but sometimes it takes a little while to get him back to bed if he has gas or stomach pains. he does really well during the day! he stays awake a lot and just looks around. i think he's really fun when he's like this. he loves to be in his little bouncy chair! sometimes it's the only thing that will make him stop crying is to be put in his chair... i do believe that he's spoiled already... :)
the thing we're working on now is trying to get him out of our bed. he sleeps cuddled up next to Jer all night, which i think is really cute, but we need to kill the habit as fast as possible. he just doesn't like his bassinet :( we'll figure it out. we're going to start transitioning him this weekend, so hopefully that goes ok! any advice would be great! :)
So i am now officially on my own during the day. My mom was here for a month, my dad and bro for 2 weeks, then Tricia was here for 2 weeks and she left yesterday, so i feel kinda lonely already... i need to find myself some more mommy friends to keep me company during the day. ok, well i think that's the end of my update today, but i will write more soon! good-bye for now
