Ruffly Skirt #3 (Yes, I am finally done!)

Things I learned from making this skirt:

1-Just because it's $1.50 a yard at Walmart does not mean you should buy the material. Why?

2-Reason #2- SEWING WITH KNIT SUCKS!

3-I REALLY hate sewing with knit

4-Making a matching headband did not help me hate the knit any less.

Moral of the story is: Never buy knit to sew with again (unless I get a Serger, which is very unlikely) Not even if it only costs $2.25. Because I will still hate it. Stupid stretchy knit. HUMPH!

Ruffley Skirt #2

I really can't ever stop with just one. Both of the other girls wanted a ruffled skirt after I made Katie's and this one is Kenzie's I thought it would be easier to attach it to a regular piece of material and not a t-shirt, but live and learn, it was NOT. Plus the poor girl can't take big steps with it. But WHATEVER. It looks cute, and that's all that matters, right?????

Handprint Bee Quilt

We made this quilt for my in-laws at our last family reunion. We had all of the grandkids make a handprint and then we decorated them like bees. Since this was my first effort at hand quilting, I think it turned out really cute. The idea came from a book someone loaned me (thanks Karley!) It was so appropriate since they own the Beehive Home!

Party Flowers

We hosted a joint birthday party with our neighbor this year. The girls birthdays were a day apart so we threw a neighorhood water party. For cupcake decorations we got the girls together and punched a bunch of circles that we put together and attached to skewer sticks. They were a surprising hit with the kids who took theirs home with them.

Dandelion Fluff Card

Hypothetically speaking, let's say you forgot it was card exchange week until the day of. Then you are frantically looking for inspiration. And you spy the quilt batting from one of your latest projects just sitting there. And since it's not winter you can't use it for a snowman. What's the next best thing? A dandelion card of course! Hypothetically speaking.....

Dorky Purse

I made this purse for my nieces birthday. Too bad the pattern was totally retarded. Whoever made the pattern and the directions should be fired. Maybe the directions were for a totally different purse? But whatever. I improvised. And this is what I got. Sorry Hannah. At least you are only 9 and maybe you won't notice it's so dorky.
