Spring Update

So much has changed around the Naylor house. Things have been pretty hectic and up in the air, but are finally starting to settle down. Jeremy was traveling for work and was only home on the weekends. He finally had enough and quit his job! It was awesome. He starts his new one at Cache Valley Electric next week. We are all so excited because he will be home all the time now. Brendan turned 8 on May 5th and started cub scouts. He is also doing Karate and just got his yellow belt. He is doing great in school and we are so proud of him. Ann Marie is keeping busy with her entourage of friends and is always doing something fun with somebody. She is working really hard at dance and getting ready for the big recital in June. She cut 10 inches off of her hair 2 weeks ago and looks so cute! Mae Noelle is growing up so fast. She is working on potty training and went to her first day of preschool. She absolutely loved it! I am keeping plenty busy these days and recovering well from my knee surgery. I'm getting around really well and can't wait to be back in bed for another month after my next surgery in July...yuck! We've been doing a lot of yard work and spring cleaning. Just being normal boring people...IT'S GREAT! The kids get out of school in a couple of weeks and then we can officially kick off summer! We are also taking a family trip to the Oregon coast for a week in July and then a rafting trip a couple of weeks after that. It should be a fun, but busy summer! Winter Fun

So this is our first real winter in 8 years. I didn't realize how much I missed the snow. I still haven't mastered driving on the slick roads, but that's what AAA is for! We've been doing a lot of sledding and playing outside. Brendan asked Santa for a snowboard last year, which I thought was silly since we lived in Arizona, but he's getting plenty of use out of it now. He is getting much
better and I especially love to watch Jer's mad
skills as he flies face first down the hill! I actually got talked into tubing, which I haven't done since my 13th birthday (that's when Nina and I had our tubing "accident") It was fun and only a few people looked at me funny as I screamed and cheered that I hadn't died! Brendan is planning an ice fishing excursion with his grandpa in a couple of weeks, so that should be fun.

It's only taken me 6 months!

Wow...I can't believe it's taken me so long to update this! Things have been pretty crazy here, but I'm looking forward to starting the new year with a bang!

We have settled right into our new life in Centerville Ut. I can honestly say, and some of you know how hard this is for me, I absolutely love living here. It is by far my favorite place yet. We are looking at buying a house here, which is a big deal because I do NOT want to move again! Jeremy is working hard at Apptis Inc. still and unfortunately is gone a good deal of the time. We are all trying to make the best of it and hope that 2009 brings a new job opportunity. The kids are doing great in school. It's just down the street so they get to walk and they love that. They are both starting Karate this month and Mae will be doing some toddler tumbling. I stay busy with the kids and cleaning and crafting...and shopping...a lot of shopping....but it's fun. It gets a little lonely during the day when Jer and the kids are gone, but I'm adjusting. My mom is now cancer free and just had her chemo port taken out. Her hair is starting to grow back and she gets a little stronger everyday. We are so thankful that she had a full recovery! I think it really helped that we were able to come and visit and lift her spirit so much. We get to go to Idaho about once a month and the kids enjoy seeing all the family they haven't gotten to see in so many years! So I guess everything is going really well here. I hope everyone is happy and healthy and making the most of the new year!

We're Moving

So we've spent our token year and a month or two here in Tucson and so it's time to move on. With all that's happening with my mom and stuff we've decided that it would be best to be closer to home. So we are moving to Utah. It doesn't seem real, but in a couple of weeks we'll be Utahans! I hope that it's going to be the best thing for our family. We've thought about it a lot, and I think we're making a very good decision. It will be the first time that we'll have a lot of family close by to help with the kids and plenty of friends for our kids to play with! I'm not exited to pack up the again, but at least we can probably officially call ourself moving pros!

So that's the big news! We'll have plenty of room at our new house, so we expect to see everyone on their way through!!!

Crazy crafting

So since I've been sewing for a little while now, I've learned quite a lot about my talents. The most important is that my technicality suffers quite a bit. I couldn't sew a straight line if my life depended on it! I'm hoping that gets better the more I do it, but I'm not so sure. The second thing I've learned is that I need a lot of flexibility to go crazy and just create. Patterns, and other certain crafts are just not my thing. I've recently start making embellished mini quilts. I haven't finished one yet, but I have so many designs and I'm hoping to be able to post a picture soon. In the spirit of crazy I made a pillow for Ann Marie's room. I started out with a regular piece of fabric. and then started piling things on top. We used funky wool yarn, sequins, metallic thread, glitter, and whatever gaudy thing we could find! We topped the whole thing off with a piece of meshy and then crazy sewed all over the top with a contrasting thread. The whole thing was an absolute mess, but it turned out pretty cute and Ann Marie loves it! It's definitely a fun project to do with the kiddos and let them go wild!

Back Home

Holy cow I can't believe it's already been almost a month! Soon after my last post we packed up the van and headed to Utah and Idaho where we've been for the last 4 weeks. We just got home around 3:30 am with a broken air conditioner and temps reaching up to 111.....YIKES! (I'm such a whiner about the heat!)

So although my plan was to escape the heat and head up for a nice relaxing stay with the kids...that didn't quite happen. It was cold and rainy most of the time we were there and everyone was sick and grumpy (most of all me)

It wasn't without it's good points though! Brendan finally learned how to ride a bike on two wheels! Traci gave Ann Marie the cutest perm...and it actually TOOK! and Mae Noelle learned to talk and communicate so much! Overall I'm glad we went, but it's nice to be home too....well it would be if it weren't so darn hot! Kelsey came to stay with us for a while so we are going to keep busy and try and stay cool! She has shown quite a talent for photography so I'm going to be taking her around see how she does with that!

On a side note....the exciting news for August has been moved up to July!(and no I'm not prego)

Schools Out

So the kids finished school yesterday........and they are ALREADY BORED! It's only been one day! I have the flu bug and so I haven't been able to entertain them as much, but still....

We were thinking about escaping the heat and going to Idaho for a month or two, but it's such a long drive, and I'm still tired from the last trip. They want to go to summer school (weird I know) so that may be an option too! I've never felt so unprepared for summer before.

Normally we would be at the pool or an inside playground, but there is a measle epidemic here, and I don't want to take any chances! I guess they are just going to have to entertain themselves.

Memorial Day weekend is coming up and we are thinking about going camping, but I don't know how excited I am too go being sick........UGH....what a miserable start to summer! Thank goodness there is a light at the end of the tunnel.........BIG SURPRISE FOR AUGUST!(stay tuned for details)
