A little behind

I am so far behind in blogging that I've been a little overwhelmed to even begin it. I would much rather read everyone elses blogs instead of mess with my own. But...

We've had a fabulous month celebrating Christmas with friends and most importantly, family.

Our church invited Santa to come have breakfast with all the kids. I really thought Camille would like Santa. She's never been scared of anyone/anything before. Santa drove up on a firetruck and all the kids waited for him at the front door. It was SO cute! Camille was so excited and clapped as he came in. We waited in line to see him and as soon as I sat her in his lap...she melted! I was wrong! She was terrified. I tried to get away quickly so we could get some kind of picture and then I felt guilty for torturing her like that. They also had a bounce house and several fun Christmas crafts! She loved playing on the firetruck, also. It was a fun day!

Since we weren't going to be home on Christmas Day, Santa came to visit us on Friday night. He brought Camille a wagon and some Leap Frog fridge letters. She LOVES her wagon and being pulled around the house in it! The first picture is the night before Santa...and pointing to her belly. Then, you see the early morning eyes in the wagon.

On Saturday before Christmas, my family came to our house to celebrate with us before we left for Austin. We enjoyed LOTS of mexican food, sweets, Mad Gab and gifts. Camille got a slide from Nana and Grandad that is currently inside our office in order for her to play with. One of my favorites from my parents was our New Home ornament. One of our biggest Christmas traditions is that we always receive ornaments each year. When I got married I had enough ornaments to fill our entire tree. They are very special to me and mom is great at finding perfect ornaments for us!
Sunday morning we headed to Austin to spend time with Clayton's family. Camille has 4 first cousins under the age of 3. They all had a blast playing together! It was so much fun to watch them interact with each other. I hate that Camille doesn't see her cousins more often. They all call her "Mille". I bought all the cousins matching Christmas PJ's this year and they were all so cute in them! We enjoyed cooking, eating, watching tv, watching kiddos play together, SHOPPING, and even going out to the movies to see National Treasurer. It was a great time spent with family! Delana has definitely gotten me excited about shopping the day after Christmas and Thanksgiving since my first Christmas with their family. The two of us enjoyed 3 different Targets, Dillards, and Macy's. We each found great finds and really enjoyed the adventure!

We have been richly blessed this year and are very thankful for all of our friends and family that have been a part of our lives this year! Camille has brought great joy to our lives and we have been so thankful for her good health and how much she has grown. She is learning new things every day and it amazes me how much she is already learning. We hope everyone has a Happy New Year. Camille will be enjoying time with her Nana and Grandad while Clayton and I get a night to ourselves. Enjoy and be safe!

I had seen this on someone else's blog and my sister created one for our family. It's hilarious!! Camille just woke up from her nap and we have sat here and watched it close to 10 times in a row...she loves it! Enjoy!

So much to be THANKFUL for...

This is our Thanksgiving story 2007.

Clayton and I both had the entire week off from work! We are thankful that we are both in education and are able to spend so much time together as a family during holidays. We spent the first few days at home and even had some family pictures taken on Monday. We headed to my parents house on Wednesday morning and came back after lunch on Sunday.

My sweet class helped begin my Thanksgiving celebrations. Here are my sweet Indians and Pilgrims. This table was actually Brooke's. Her and I drug lots of old toys down from the attic and bleached them for Camille to play with. This was Wednesday morning before it got too cold to play outside!
Then Nana came home with lots of new toys for Camille. She thought it was already Christmas! Brooke and I spent a long time putting this new wagon together for her with help from dad and Clayton. Here's dad pulling her around the house in it with our friend Austin and Lucky in the back. They were just going along having so much fun...
until the wheel fell off. This happened more than once. I think we finally got them on correctly because he didn't have that problem after a few tries.
Happy Thanksgiving Day!
With so many people and so much going on, naptime was pretty difficult for Camille! Thursday evening, she was SO sleepy and would NOT take a nap! The wagon came in very handy when I made laps inside the house until she fell asleep. That was definitely one thing I was thankful for on Thanksgiving!

Friday we enjoyed a wonderful shopping trip! Target was our first stop...of course! We didn't get up super early, but we still found lots of good deals and I got a pretty good start to my Christmas shopping! Camille was super excited to be there! Camille found this dollhouse in Sears and LOVED taking a shopping break to play in it! She definitely put this on her Christmas list.

Now that we are home I am thankful to be home...but I HIGHLY enjoy time with my family! Even though they live only a little over an hour away, I loved spending 5 days with them! We ate lots, played games, watched movies, created quizes and went shopping! I can't go without saying how thankful I am for Camille. I am so thankful for how heathly she has been! She has never even been on antibiotics! I remind myself all the time of how lucky I am! I am so thankful He chose Clayton and I to be her mommy and daddy. She makes us smile every day!

National Young Readers Day

On Tuesday, our school celebrated National Young Readers Day. A lot of work was put into this day! Each grade level had a celebrity come read a book to them in the library. Our biggest celebritiy was TO from the Dallas Cowboys! It was a pretty big deal to alot of people. We even tried to keep it hush-hush from parents to keep them away as much as possible. He actually came to read to the 3rd graders, but my kiddos got to see him walking down the hall as we were waiting on our speaker. I watch the Cowboys (I don't really have a choice...) but I'm not a huge fan. I didn't really care too much about him being there, until I see him walking my way down the hall. I did get a little nervous and excited to actually see him! He was so tall and big! My kids thought it was pretty cool. He even donated several of his books "Little T Learns to Share" to our library.

The kindergarteners' speaker was Derrick Castillo from Channel 5 Sports. He wasn't as much to get hiped about, but he did a great job talking and interacting with our kids. During the day we also had a book exchange, cookies and punch and a bookmark competition. Lots of fun!

Buzzzz...

Camille was our little bumble bee this year for Halloween! We went to our church's trunk or treat and passed out candy. I have to say I learned alot and next year will be completely different for us. This was our first experience at a trunk or treat and I knew nothing about it except that we passed out candy from our trunks. I didn't know people go all out and decorate with themes. I'm already planning for next year! Notice I have NO pictures of our trunk. I was actually embarrased when I drove in the parking lot and made Clayton drive our car up to the "line" for me.

Is it November yet?

The month of October has been super busy for us! We have had lots of fun and have seen lots of fun people, but we are exhausted. Clayton even took a sick day on Monday just to stay home and clean the house. Isn't that an awesome husband! Here are some pictures of the last couple of weekends.

This past weekend, Clayton's parents came to town to help celebrate Camille's birthday. Friday they took Camille and I to ride the train and then to the Fort Worth Zoo! Camille had a blast! Too bad daddy had to work and didn't get to enjoy it with us.

Here are pictures of Camille's pumpkin birthday party! She had so much fun playing with family and friends and enjoying her orange cupcake! This was her big gift from Clayton and I. She is waiving bye to her cousin Preston. She just loves getting in and out of it over and over. She's real cute now when she carries her new cell phone and keys around with her!
She definitely enjoyed her cupcake. It deserved a two-handed shove into the mouth.

This was the dessert table and the pumpkin cake I made. I was pretty nervous about it, but was pretty proud afterwards.
A few posts back, I mentioned that my parents were celebrating their 25th wedding anniversary this month. Brooke and I (with the help of our aunt and friends) threw them a reception this past Sunday. It was so much fun! The topper on their cake is the actual topper they used at their wedding. She also had their unity candle, an invitation and a napkin from their wedding. It was funny to hear all the stories people were sharing. I was their flower girl and the memory I have is crying because someone messed up my mommy's car. People had shoe polished it and I didn't like it at all. P.S. If you haven't ready my 100 things, that will explain why I was almost 3 when they got married. Congrats Mom and Dad!

Happy Birthday Camille!

At 4:59pm, Camille will be officially be 1 years old! I can't believe it! I have been thinking the last couple of days of what we were doing this time last year. The last few days of pregnancy and all the anxiety that brought. I was so anxious to find out what she looked like! This year has flown by and has been so much fun to be a part of her life. I am so thankful that the Lord chose Clayton and I to raise her. She has been such a good baby and has been so healthy! We are so thankful! She really makes me nervous to have another baby because (most) everything has gone so smoothly with her. Here are pictures of her each month this past year.

Yes, she is trying to pull out her bow in this picture! We are still working on keeping bows in her hair. She is getting better, but she just wasn't feeling it at 7am this morning. Clayton and I both went in her room together to wake her up this morning by singing "Happy Birthday" to her. She is usually standing in her crip with her arms straight out waiting for us to pick her up. When we were singing, she sat completely still in her crib and looked at us like we were crazy. She is walking ALL over the place and has now learned to even stand up without using something to pull up on. It was pretty hard keeping up with her this weekend at ACU. She has lots of new sounds and is finally saying "Mama" along with "Dada", "Nana", "See, See" and other silly sounds.
