Camping

We went camping to soapstone a couple of weekends in a row.  Casey will be on call for about a month and won't be able to go camping, so we decided to go while we could.  Soapstone is one of our favorite places to go.  It's close, there are lots of trails to ride 4-wheelers on, and the weather is usual great.  It's a nice place to get out of the heat.

Casey's brother and his two girls came up one day.  Caleb loved having someone there to play with.

They went exploring.

We went on a ride to a lake and went fishing.  We didn't catch any fish.  As soon as we would cast out, Caleb wanted to reel it back in.

There were still some patches of snow here and there.

Caleb loved shooting his BB gun.  We spent hours taking turns shooting that thing.  Good thing BB's are cheap.

We also went on a few hikes.  Caleb loved hiking.

BOY!!!  Caleb was really excited when we told him.  He's always said he wants a baby brother.  When Caleb was a baby, I made sure that our big purchases were gender neutral so that we wouldn't have to buy new stuff.  I'm glad that I won't have to buy new toys, clothes, blankets, etc.  I do have to say that a little part of me was disappointed that it's not a girl, I mean, who doesn't want one of each?  It didn't take long to get over it.  I'm glad I don't have to worry about dealing with the girl drama.  Caleb's boy drama is enough for me!

We haven't come up with a name yet.  I don't have any ideas and Casey doesn't have any either.  Caleb was so easy.  It was the first name that Casey mentioned and it was on my list of names I liked.  I don't even have a list this time.  There isn't anything that I really like.  I'm not too worried yet because we still have a while, I just don't want to be ready to leave the hospital and still deciding on a name. 

Sand Hollow &......

We were supposed to go camping this past weekend with a buddy of Casey's to pine lake.  We have never been there before so we were kind of excited to go somewhere new.  We'll Casey's buddy's wife was unable to get work off because it got so busy last week.  We decided that we wanted to go camping anyway.  After looking at the weather, we decided to go to Sand Hollow and enjoy some warm weather.  It did rain on Saturday afternoon while we were there, but other than that, the weather was very nice.  We had fun riding on the sand dunes and playing at the lake.

I am 12.5 weeks today.  I had my second appointment today.  Baby has grown well in the last 4 weeks and the heartbeat looks good.  I thought we would listen to the heart beat today but we just did an ultrasound instead.  It was nice to be able to see the baby although it wasn't very active.  I was glad Casey got to see it because he was unable to go to my first appointment and they did one then too.

 Casey isn't usually one to show too much excitement, but he got really excited the other day when he found out that there is a blood test that can determine gender.  With Caleb we just found out during the normal 20 week ultrasound.  I didn't want to spend the extra money for fetal photos or anything when I was getting an ultra sound anyway.  I feel the same way about it now. Well, Casey asked my doc if we could do the blood test.  He said that we could but couldn't be positive that insurance would pay since I'm not over 35.  I'm hoping they will because if not we will be paying $290.  But Casey was willing to pay it, so we got it done.  We'll get the results back in 10-15 business days.

This test will also screen for Trisomy 21, 18, and 13 and monosomy x.  I know I shouldn't be too worried about this because I'm not old enough to be in the high risk age for these, but now I'm kind of worried.  I'm just hoping for a healthy baby! 

Moab

We decided to go to Moab camping.  It was so nice.  The days were pretty warm and then when it was about to get hot in the afternoon, the clouds would come in a cool thing off.  It was perfect.  It did rain one afternoon but it was fine.  We just took a nap and watched a movie.  We went on Fins N Things, which we have done before.  Then we did Hell's Revenge, which was new for us.  Caleb loved riding he thought it was fun.  There was one time when Casey asked Caleb if he wanted to go up a hill and I said no, so Caleb said, "Dad, lets take Mom back to camp."  It was so funny.

Caleb loved hiking, exploring and playing around camp.  There was a big hole at our camp site.  Caleb asked what it was from.  Casey jokingly told him that it was a dinosaur track.  Caleb called it his dinosaur footprint the rest of the time.  He had a blast playing in it with his tractors and shovels.  He even took a lantern into it at night and played and played.

He also rode his motorcycle a couple of times around camp.  He loves that thing.  I'm glad he likes it so much.

Happy Birthday 4 Year Old

Wow, 4 years old!  It's Crazy how fast time goes by.  My sweet boy is getting so big.  He's still a handful and he tries to push me and Casey to see how much he can get away with.  He likes to argue with us.  He'll ask us a question and then when we tell him the answer he says "no it's not."  He is such a little stinker.  His party was fun and we had a lot people over.  I made his cake.  It turned out way cute.  I was proud of myself.  He got spoiled with tons of toys.

I have been sooo bad about blogging lately.  I can't believe how fast time goes by.  So, I will try to make this as short as possible because there is a lot to share.

We decided to take Caleb on the North Pole Express this year.  He had a blast.  He liked singing the Christmas carols, talking to the elves, seeing Santa, and being on a train.  It was worth the money.

We had elf on the shelf come visit this year.  Caleb loved searching for him every day.  Here are a few of the things Jingle did.

I don't have any pics of Christmas morning. We took video instead.   I was lucky enough to get canceled from work that morning.  It was the best Christmas present ever to be able to spend it at home.  Here are some pics at Casey's parent's house on Christmas.

On new year's day, we went to my parents property with my mom and dad, and my brother and his son, Cael.  We pulled the boys on sleds behind a 4-wheeler, they sledded down a hill, and made snow angels.  They had so much fun.



Halloween

Halloween was so much fun this year.  In previous years we just took Caleb around to family for trick or treating because he was still to young.  This year, we took him trick or treating around the neighborhood.  He loved it.  Along the way, we met up with Caleb's friend Conner, who lives in the neighborhhod, and they had a blast trick or treating together.  Caleb had just as much fun at home handing out candy to the trick or treaters.

 

I decided to make Halloween extra fun and make a special halloween dinner.  We had chicken "fingers", mummy dogs, ghost croutons, an apple monster mouth, and monster pudding.  Caleb really liked it.  Blogger keeps uploading my picture rotated the wrong way and I can't figure out how to get it the right way.
