Fun Day with Friends

We had a great morning at the Children's Discovery Center with our friends Aiden, Grace, Coleman and Cacia today. The kids had a blast playing in all of the exhibits. I only got pictures of a few of the areas because my camera battery went dead on me (which I am sure has nothing to do with the fact that I haven't charged it for almost a month). This is one of my kids' favorite places to go. They always have a blast while we are there and start begging to go back as soon as we leave. It was also a great escape from the heat of summer inside the nice air conditioned building (that's always a bonus :)).

A new addiction...

My New piece of Jewelry

What is the biggest benefit to having your ACL reconstructed?

Well, if you are lucky, a few years after you have your knee put back together, you might have the pleasure of having one of the screws (that they used to graft in your new ligament) come loose and start moving around in your leg. Then, if your even luckier than that, your screw might just come to rest pointing OUTWARD and UPWARD in front of your knee cap causing quite a bit of discomfort when you try to bend it.

Finally, if you are the luckiest person of all, you might get to go into the O.R. for a second surgery to have the wandering screw removed!! But again you must be unusually lucky to have this happen, in fact, my surgeon and his Physicians Assistant both commented that they had never seen anything like it in their lives!! And then, they will give you the screw as a memento, or a new piece of jewelry! How awesome is that?

I know you are all envious! I'm sure you'll be even more jealous the next time you see me and I'm gimping around with a big ol' ace bandage wrapped around my leg!!

iT's HoT!!!

Okay, the weather just went straight from early spring to middle of summer. Where did our month or two of 70 to 80 degrees go? I feel jipped! Did it feel that way to anyone else?

Well with it being so suddenly hot the kids were begging to play with the slip 'n slide today. I clipped some fun pics of Carter, Max and their buddy Aiden cooling off in the back yard.

We're Back!!

We are home from Hawaii! We had such a great trip. We did so much in the 10 days we were gone! Surfing, hiking, swiming, snorkeling, luaus, sightseeing, shopping, the list goes on and on! We ran the kids into the ground and we are all still pretty tired! It was so great spending time with Rich's family. What a trip! We had so much fun! Thanks for everything, Ruth/Grandma/Mom! We love you!
