Christmas

We had a great Christmas in Las Vegas. Aidan was really into Christmas this year since he understood what was going on (and was excited that he would receive presents!). He asked Santa for Percy the train and Santa came through for him. Aidan also left out some toys in his room for Santa to play with on Christmas Eve, which was quite thoughtful of him. Calder had a good first Christmas, he enjoyed chewing on the wrapping paper and ribbons. It was nice to see Maggie the dog for her last Christmas also. Aidan liked her a lot and talks about her when he mentions grandma's house.



We also got to make a quick trip to Arizona to visit cousin Jenn and Eric and their precious baby girls which was awesome. Jenn is my hero, when I feel overwhelmed with one baby I have to think that if she can survive 3 babies at the same time then I should be able to get through one.

Aidan's Birthday

So, I never got around to posting about Aidan's birthday. We had a really great time and Aidan was very excited to once again practice his gift-opening skills. With Christmas and his birthday so close he gets a lot of presents all at once and then has to make it through the rest of the year asking when Christmas and/or his birthday will come again. Thanks to everyone who came to his party for making it a fun day!


Allison Hepper made us this awesome birthday cake (that was also super delicious!) If you need cakes or flowers, she is very talented and so wonderful to work with!


Calder was not to be outdone and decided he needed some attention on Aidan's birthday. He cut his finger that day and we had to take him to the doctor for a stitch in his tiny little finger. He did make it 8 months longer than Aidan did before his first stitches. Lucky for us we have awesome neighbors who watched Aidan for me while I took Calder to the doctor. Made things so much easier!

Toddler or Terrorist

Recently I have begun to notice there are many similarities between Aidan and a terrorist. The irrational requests, unreasonable demands, and the promise of terrible things to come if we do not comply. I try to remember it's best not to negotiate with terrorists, but sometimes I forget or I'm too tired to fight it. And if he is a terrorist, he is the most adorable little terrorist I've ever seen!

Quiet Time

Church last Sunday

Aidan was talking and I was trying to quiet him down before he said something embarrassing. Mission failed.

Me: We need to be quiet and fold our arms.
Aidan (folds his arms): Why do we need to be quiet?
Me: It's time to think about Jesus.
Aidan: Is Jesus here? I can't see him! (straining his neck to see up in the front)
Me: Jesus is here but we can't see him.
Aidan: Want to see Jesus! Want to see Jesus!

HILARIOUS!!!
