Thanks US Air

Thanks for charging $25 per check-in bag. Thanks for trying to charge for soda last year. Thanks for canceling my flight yesterday. Thanks for being over an hour late for take-off on each leg of my trip. Speaking of legs, thanks for bashing the drink cart into mine while I was asleep. Lastly, thanks for finally taking away that last inch of comfort I had when flying, actually it wasn't even comfort, it was the space required for me to even fit my legs behind the seat in front of me. Thanks for helping me realize this is the last US Air flight I will ever be able to take. I hope adding that last row of seats was worth you losing my business forever.

The Dr Appointment

I went to the doctor with a fever and flu like symptoms and 5 days later...I'm home!
Seriously, last Thursday I came home from work early just generally feeling crappy. The fever started coming, so I just hopped myself up on Tylenol. Friday, the Tylenol wasn't really doing anything and the fever just kept creeping up, so I called the doctor and he had me go to his office. He took my temperature...102.8. He leaves the room (literally just says he'll be right back and leaves) comes back about 10 minutes later and says he has me registered at the hospital and wants us to go straight there, no stopping and no going home. We get to the hospital, where we really didn't have to wait too long, and they retook my temperature...103.6! Within the 30 minutes it took us to get there my temperature had just kept rising. They immediately put me on IV fluids and gave me 3 Tylenol. Well to make a long story shorter, it took 3 hours for them to get my temperature down to 102.6. The temperature just didn't want to budge. They ended up admitting me and doing lots of tests. Turns out I didn't have the flu! ....I had another MAJOR kidney infection. By Sunday they figured out what kind of infection it was...the short and sweet....not a good one! They couldn't send me home because they had to keep me on IV antibiotics and monitor me to make sure nothing was affecting the baby, because the infection was 1) really bad and 2) oral antibiotics wouldn't even touch it. Some good news finally!..It didn't hurt her at all, and hadn't gotten into my blood. By Monday my fever had broken and the antibiotics were doing their job. Tuesday afternoon I finally got the ok to go home! I am on some oral antibiotics to keep the infection at bay and bed rest for 2 weeks. Hey...being locked up at home is so much better than being locked up at the hospital. Some good that came from the hospital: I got to practice my Tagalog! 2 of my nurses were from the Philippines, so when they found out I spoke Tagalog, they would give me all the directions and run down in Tagalog rather than English, so that was fun! Another plus..it rained for 2 of the days, so I really didn't feel like I was missing out on much!
