Verizon vs. T-Mobile vs. AT&T????

Okay, so our 2 year contract with Verizon is coming up and we want to hear from our friends and family about which cell phone companies YOU think are best! We have looked at the pricing and so far T-mobile is the cheapest, but that's not necessarily what we are going for. We want an affordable plan, with good coverage, customer service, etc. We haven't been 100% satisfied with Verizon, but most of our friends and family are in the Verizon network, so it makes sense to stick with them. Halloween...

We're pretty upset that we didn't keep up our "once a month" posting and totally skipped October, but I figure you will all give us some slack cause its only November 1st.

Just to catch you up for October:
1. Lindsey started teaching in a 2nd grade classroom as a part of her practicum experience (pre-student teaching). It has been EXTREMELY busy, but well worth it! The kids are wonderful and its awesome to be a part of a classroom for an extended period of time, not just as a visitor. She'll be there until Thanksgiving break, every week Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday.

2. Johnny, while figuring out his "Plan B" to Business Finance (something his counselor suggested), is now looking into these options for school: a Bachelors degree in Statistics with an emphasis in Actuarial Science while taking classes that count for the CES program-Seminary/Institute Training (graduation date April 2010), a Bachelors/Masters Integrated Statistics program, with CES as well (graduation date Winter 2011), or the regular Bachelor's Degree in Business Finance (graduation date April 2010, but depends upon when he is accepted to the program). There are pros and cons to each of these, so if you want to know more details or have ANY advice, give Johnny a call, or just place your pick (we value your opinion) on the cool poll we set up :)

3. And Bumble...well, she's just as cute as ever! Her daddy did try to give her a haircut this month, but she ended up looking like she got in a fight with a lawnmower, so she had to go to the groomer to get shaved! (Sorry, no pictures, they would have been hilarious though).

Now that we have written a novel, let's get onto the fun stuff. We went on a ward hay ride to pick pumpkins last week. Bumble loved it, and I think this is my most favorite family picture from that last couple of months!

And then for Halloween, we decided to throw a party with our friends The Dicksons and The Gooodsells. We had a good turn out, but Lindsey overplanned on food (as always). So, if anyone in Provo wants to come take home a dozen pumpkin cookies or some apple cider, PLEASE stop by! We made 12 dozen cookies and have about half of them left! We went all out on the costumes this year as Joker and Two Face from The Dark Knight. See for yourselves!

Fall is Here!

Fall is finally here and that means school, pretty leaves, perfect weather, and LINDSEY'S BIRTHDAY! So we have some catching up to do for this past month...


Lindsey's birthday consisted of lots of shopping, fun phone calls from family and friends, a haircut (4 inches worth) and a birthday bash Johnny planned at our place. I think everyone who reads this knows that Lindsey does enjoy being the center of attention once in a while, and Johnny knows just how to make her happy :) Our good friend, Natalie made these delectable chocolate cakes for the party and we enjoyed eating them for the week after (Thanks Natalie!).


The weekend after we decided to plan a little camping trip with the Goodsells and Dixons. We had to go just up Provo Canyon cause the guys had a softball game that night, so we went up there, set up camp, ate tin foil dinners and then the girlies (including Bumble our little watch dog) stayed and talked around the campfire while the boys went and played a rambuncous game of softball. They then returned to find a scrumptous dutch oven peach cobbler ready to fit their hungry bellies! The canyon was gorgeous and it was perfect weather (except for a little bit of rain we got in the night). The next morning we took a little hike around the ridge starting a Squaw Peak (no there was no making out) and just couldn't get over all the fall colors! We've decided that fall is our favorite time of the year here and will definitely miss it when we leave. We really are blessed to live in a beautiful world!

Happy 2nd Anniversary To Us!

I know all of our avid readers are probably very upset that its been a month since our last post. And to be completely honest, I'm feeling pretty great about keeping up with this thing--even if its on a monthly basis!


So, yes, we did celebrate our 2nd Anniversary by going to see Brian Regan (on August 14th) as well as going to The Roof for dinner on the actual day, August 22nd :) Brian Regan was a blast--he's even funnier in person! And The Roof was very romantic. Johnny ordered me flowers through the Joseph Smith building and they were sitting on the table when we got there. They even matched our wedding colors which I thought was so cute (Johnny later confessed that he didn't do this on purpose...). The food was okay, but holy cow, the desserts were to die for! I would pay that much just to go pig out on desserts once a year!!! We got there just in time for the sunset and then stayed two and a half hours so that I could enjoy the lights of the Salt Lake Temple (and so that our stomachs could take a rest before diving into dessert). We forgot our camera, but luckily the couple sitting next to us, took a few pics for us and were nice enough to email them to us (Thanks mystery friends!). Overall, it was a very fun time and the night only made us realize how much we are really in love...even after all these years! ;)

Pet Peeves

This morning I had one of my pet peeves happen and it prompted a long discussion between Johnny and I about our pet peeves, so here's a wonderful little list...

Lindsey
1. The little dried lotion "plug" that happens when I leave the lotion cap popped up.
2. When the very bottom of my pant legs get wet (this mostly happens in the winter months with rain/snow)
3. People who say they don't like a specific food BEFORE they've even tried it!
4. When I put something away in a safe spot and then later on can't remember where that safe spot is.
5. And last but certainly not least, when people scrap their silverware with their teeth!!! It drives me nuts!

Johnny
1. Making lists about our pet peeves (he just wrote this one just to make me mad...)
2. Squeezing the toothpaste from the middle.
3. When people think they are experts about something when they're really not.
4. When Bumble wakes me up in the middle of the night to poop.
5. Socks that fall down into my shoes and don't stay up.

Keepin' it in the Fam

This past Tuesday I started working full time at Icon Security with Johnny! He's in the customer service department (and has been for the past couple months and oftentimes feels like this man I have pictured here) and I just started in the Account Creation department (I don't look as possessed on the phone though as this girl does!). Let me tell you, its a WHOLE lot of fun :) Actually, we are both enjoying it pretty well. Johnny got a raise a couple weeks ago and is working with Technical Support customer service issues, so he doesn't have to talk to as many angry customers. My job consists of speaking with sales reps, opps...I mean "CONSULTANTS" as well as to customers about their contracts...I mean "AGREEMENTS" (I just love the sales psychology). Shifts go by fast because we're really busy so that's nice and we have the same hours (except I have Saturdays occasionally). Its nice to both have an income right now...trying to save up for the school months!

Bittersweet Goodbye

We finally said "sayonara" to the Tribeca this weekend. Johnny's Aunt Debbie and Uncle Paul own a car dealership in Whitefish, Montana and are going to sell the car for us! Debbie came down to visit her parents in Salt Lake and then was driving them back to Montana with her in our Tribeca. It was a bittersweet moment signing off good old "Beca" but we knew it had to be done! Time to live like we're poor again ;)

Our Miracle Dog!

Okay, so we have a CRAZY story to share with everyone that happened to us just last night!

(A little bit of background…) Johnny and I are house-sitting for some family-friends in Draper for the next month while they are in the Caribbean. They live in this big beautiful three story home with a really nice backyard equipped with cement patio, jacuzzi, waterfall & pond, basketball court, lawn, and in ground trampoline. They also have a golden retriever named Jazzy who Bumble loves to annoy and torment!

So last night we went out to see the new Batman movie and go to dinner with Aunt Janet and Uncle Rick. Before we left we decided to leave Jazzy in the backyard and Bumble up on the second story porch (because earlier we had noticed she had found a spot in the backyard fence to weasel her way out!). The thought had crossed our minds that she may be able to squeeze under the iron rods of the porch, but thought that she would never try to do it because of the 12-15 foot drop on to the cement patio below.

After a fun-filled five hours we headed home and noticed the Draper Days fireworks going off in distance. We commented that we both hoped Bumble was okay because of her immense fear of loud bangs and noises. This made us worry so we hurried a little faster home and the first thing we did was open the door to the porch, expecting to find our enthusiastic little pup ready to pounce on us. But she was no where to be found on the porch! I immediately went into hysterics (what a surprise…) simply because neither of us thought she would have survived a 12 foot drop onto cement. We began screaming her name, expecting her to somehow appear on the porch, but she just wasn’t there.

Johnny flew down the stairs into the basement and flung open the door leading into the backyard. Jazzy ran into the house soaking wet—it was obvious that she had been in the pond. But Bumble was no where to be seen. My first impression was to jump into the pond in case she was in there, but instead Johnny noticed a trail of water leading out into the lawn and followed it. We continued to yell for her at the top of our lungs, and just as Johnny rounded the corner to the side of the house he thought he heard the jingle of her collar. He looked up and there she was, squirming her way back under the fence into the backyard! She had heard us calling and had come running. I have never heard Johnny shout for such joy as he did then! He kept saying “Bumble! Its really you!! You’re alive!!” She licked our faces and frantically wagged her tail, obviously excited to be safe in our arms.

Then we began to speculate about what exactly happened. Her fur was completely dry, but looked curly, as if it had been wet. Her collar was also damp, so the only explanation we have been able to come up with is that she squirmed under the rod iron fence of the porch, walked along the tiny edge, and then jumped outward into the pond of water, completely missing the cement. That is really the only thing that could have happened because a fall onto the cement would have at least broken her legs. So this is our Biolo family miracle! Someone was definitely looking out her (and us!), or maybe Jazzy helped to steer Bumble’s attention to the pond, but one things for sure---we really wish dogs could talk!!! WE LOVE YOU BUMBLE!

Lake Tahoe Trip!

Last weekend we met my family in Lake Tahoe for a really fun vacation! We had a blast together hiking to Fallen Leaf Lake, riding bikes all around, hanging out at the beach, shopping (what me and Mom do best), eating (what we ALL do best!) and playing games in the condo. It was so nice to have some one on one time together and just be goofy ;) The highlighted game of the weekend was Apples to Apples--even Dad liked it and understood how to play, so it was definitely a winner! We were sad that it had to be so short. But I say that we make it a family tradition at least every couple years!

~Memorial Weekend~

So this weekend was way fun! (But sadly we only took pictures of the BBQ...)
Saturday we went up to Grandma & Grandpa Sinsel's house and spent some time with them. We went to eat at this really yummy mexican restaurant :) But my favorite part of being with them was helping Grandma in the kitchen! It was good quality grandparent/grandchild time!
Sunday was Travis' mission farewell. He's off to Lima, Peru in a week or so! After eating lunch with the family we went to the Plain City cemetery and helped Grandma put all the flowers on the graves of family members. It was really neat to help out with a tradition that we didn't even know our family did! Apparently every memorial day everyone in Plain City puts flowers on the graves of their family members and then meets at the cemetery to socialize and reminisce. That night we drove back to Aunt Janet & Uncle Ricks and spent the night with them. I tell you, our family members spoil us with fun and lots of good food :) They even treated us to gelato!
Then we headed home to our house to get ready for our BBQ! It was supposed to be at the park, but due to the rainy, cold weather we moved it to our house. Luckily Janet & Rick gave us their old BBQ grill so we could still grill up the chicken and brauts! We had so much fun with our family (Beeks, Ben, & Julia) and friends (Wrights, Partridges, & Heiners)! Wish everyone else could have been with us too :(

The NEW Blog!

Okay, so we've never been "bloggers," but I finally decided we need to be hip with the times and start one! I'm not making any guarantees of how exciting the "Biolo Buzz" will be, but maybe having a blog will make us want to do more exciting things to buzz about ;) I also apologize up front if this blog becomes littered with Bumble pictures and useless information about our puppy, but she is our baby and I have a feeling it may go in that direction.
