A Merry Christmas for Emma!

Does "Santa Baby" remind you of me???

Sara Tripp says that every time she hears "Santa Baby" she thinks of me!!!! I asked her if she thought I was superficial but like a true friend she said no.......so in honor of her I have included a christmas playlist with Santa Baby on it....you can listen to it and decide if it reminds you of me too!

If you don't love my playlists (I will admit to having an eclectic taste in music!) and my Christmas playlist is less than desirable.......you can just turn them off!!!!

I have to admit putting together a Christmas playlist was difficult for me because I don't listen to Christmas music too much! So I included some of my favorites (that I could think of!) O Holy Night is probably my all time favorite (but I don't like the version I found - it sucks!) then there is Gesu Bambino (which I couldn't find a good copy of - it sucks too) but I sang it at a Christmas concert my junior or senior year of high school and I have always loved it! "Here Comes Santa Claus" reminds me of my kids! I know its a pretty pathetic list! but Merry Christmas!!!

Should I get an Augmentation....

FOR EMMA!!!!!!! hahahahaha I want everyone to know that Emma started doing this on her own! No coaching or prompting - nothing!!! She takes the shells from the food in her kitchen and shoves them in her shirt and she walks around and says "boobs"......yeah, we're so proud of her!!!!

Bill's New Hat

For our Young Women's Activity on Wednesday we learned to crochet hats! I thought it was fun because I wanted to learn to make hats but I was surprised at how much the girls enjoyed learning it. We've had previous activities teaching them to crochet already! So I will post some pictures of the hat I made. I thought at first it would be for Gage (he likes camouflage) but eventually (because I didn't know what I was doing) it became too big for Gage so I thought it would be a hat for me......but once again that became to big and now it is a hat for Bill! He was really excited about it - like way more than I thought he should be -oh well - whatever makes him happy!

Building the Gingerbread House

So on Saturday we built the annual gingerbread house. We bought that kit early in November and Gage has continually pestered about "ducorating" it. Bill said we had to wait until after Thanksgiving. Gage was prepared to come home from Wallsburg on Thursday to do it - but it was so late! Friday he was busy at a friends house so Saturday was the day. Emma loved it too - although she ate more of it than she decorated.

More Adventures of Emma!!!

Okay so I occasionally give Emma and Gage little bowls full of milk chocolate morsels (you know, chocolate chips!). Its like a treat....they seem to love it and Emma (like her dad and Grandma Kim) is a "chocoholic". So on Sunday, she and Gage were sharing a bowl.....then Gage starts laughing; its more like a screaming laugh - I think he wanted me to pay attention. So I go into the living room and there she is. Chocolate is smeared all over her face (which is common, for her) but what I notice is that there is chocolate dripping out of her nose!!! So I asked Gage what the deal is and he is still laughing and he says "Emma shoved a chip up her nose!" Well that explains the brown drip doesn't it??? So I start screaming for Bill. I am not sure if I should try to get it out or if I should just wait for it to melt out?? Luckily Bill seems to have all the answers and he convinces Emma to blow her nose! Yeah, I don't know why I didn't think of that......eventually it would have come to me!!!!!!!!!!!!!! hahahahahaah

Pottery with the Young Women!

We did pottery at Sheila's for Young Women in Excellence! It was a great success!!! We did it as a stake this year and I have to say, our ward's presentation was the very best! I took pictures of the pot I made but I will have to download it later!

Karma Sucks!!!!!

Okay so a week ago, my friend Mandy posts on her blog about being 2 inches under water! Her kids were in the bathtub and tahdah there is water everywhere!!! I laughed my head off at that blog - its one of the funniest things I ever read (sorry Mandy!) mostly because it was her and not me but I have kids too so I can relate right???? NOT SO MUCH!!!! This evening Emma got into the bathroom - which usually we leave the door closed because she's been

1. locking herself in (guess who gets to squeeze through the vent in Gage's room to reach the lock on the bathroom door????)
2. wasting all my pump soap all over her body, clothes, sink etc!

So anyways I was downstairs doing another load of laundry and Bill was in the living room reading Eclipse (just about to the big fight with the newborns) and I come upstairs and I hear running water. I thought it was kind of strange but I carried on trying to get the kids in their beds and what do you know??? I pass the bathroom - the door is OPEN and there is about 2 inches of water on the floor and the faucet is running with the plug in the sink!!! Worse yet, I cannot turn off the faucet.....perhaps I was panicking but I couldn't get it off. So I start screaming hysterically for Bill to come; he comes flying through and starts asking questions........yes the water is STILL RUNNING. "Who left the door open?, who turned the water on?, why is the water still on?" blah, blah, blah!!! So I am yelling at him that I can't get it off!!!!!! Luckily, Bill is a lot more level headed than I am in a crisis so he gets the water turned off and runs downstairs for a load of towels (bless his heart - this is why I married him!!!!) he washed just the other day!!!! Of course he left me to clean the mess myself (he's back on Eclipse) but the towels thing bought him a pass. Emma denies knowing anything about this matter and Gage keeps saying things like "I wonder who left the water on in the bathroom?" Anyways, I didn't take any photos - it really isn't funny and let this be a lesson to all of us.......karma sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stomach Flu!!!!!!!

So Emma & I had the stomach flu this weekend! It started Friday morning about 4am with Emma.....She refused to throw up in a bowl at first and it would be all over her body - then she would lay with her stomach on my bed - yeah, gross huh??? Its no wonder I started throwing up around 8am.....it continued on for a few hours and then I felt good enough (?) to go to walmart. Normally I would never had gone in that condition but we were COMPLETELY out of diapers and a few other necessities so I really had to go. I thought I was just a little weak really but then Saturday morning about 2AM it started again! just for me this time....but it was more frequent and left me doing nothing on Saturday. Luckily, Bill took the kids to Wallsburg and I spent the day in bed...........but guess who read Twilight??? yep - Bill!!! he is mildly entertained - so he says. Secretly, I think he LOVES it!!! hahahahah as a matter of fact, he is just now picking up Ashleigh's copy of New Moon to read. I am hoping he will feel free to take me to the movie!!!!! Which opens in 11 days!!!!

Back from Twilight!

So I have spent the last 7 days reading the Twilight series! - thanks Ashleigh for letting me borrow them! I never had any interest at all in reading those books but I was babysitting at Shelly Kearley's and her boys go to bed so early....so I started reading Breaking Dawn. Yes, I know its the last one, but its the only one she had out! So I got home around 10pm and headed to Walmart to buy my own.......I can't believe how addicting those books are! Anyways Bill has whined all week about everything I haven't done (I don't dispute that but somehow I couldn't tear myself away until I was finished!!!) anyways so I am back from the Twilight! and now I have to catch up on everything I put aside!!!! ugh!!!!

Amazing Adventures of Emma!!!!!

What a day she has had!!!! I just have to start out with these photos! So I received some new items from Stampin Up! today and so of course I want to try them out! Well Emma loves to play with scrapbooking things too. So she takes a pack of colored brads and dumps them out on the coffee table (see photo 1!) then she "feeds" them to her baby; because the baby is "hungy". In all fairness, she did mention she was doing this but I still don't always understand her language and well I was busy with my new "toys" so she keeps feeding the baby and I keep playing. Then I decide I need to pay attention to her. The first thing I notice is the brads on the coffee table (still photo 1) as I start to pick them all up to put them away I notice she is taking them out and bringing them to where her baby is laying. Then I hear her say "baby, hungy" then I watch, in horror, as she shoves the brad down that baby's throat!!!!! So I try as calmly as possible to say "No! Emma!" "Baby is not hungry". The next thing I know is that I am giving that baby the heimlich.....really all it took was me turning her over and most of the brads just fell out of her mouth and throat! (See photo 2) but I did have to do some shaking and heimliching because that baby is made to eat, pee and poop! Fortunately, I think I was successful in the brad retrieval. But as you can see in photo 3 - Emma was not happy about me taking the food from her baby! Not happy at all!

Back from Denver....

So we came back from Denver on Monday late (around 11:30pm)....Emma and I went right to sleep until the alarm rang (its my phone actually) 8:00am - I have to get Gage to the bus stop by 8:37 am or he will miss it! I was so tired all day - I didn't even bother to un-pack (not a surprise for me!). Emma loved Meghan's wedding. Emma thought Meghan was Giselle from Enchanted. She followed her around all evening and made her hold her too! It was pretty funny, especially when Meghan started singing and talking like Giselle! Emma has been putting toys in the refrigerator at night and then Bill & I find them the next day. I don't know why she is doing this, but it really makes me laugh! She does it on her own....we don't help her in anyway! Yesterday, it was one of her Ariel dolls and today - its her phone! I wanted to take the kids to the Big Red Barn today but Gage said no..............maybe tomorrow! Please excuse my dirty refrigerator!

Old Year's Resolution

So I say "Old" year's resolution because the year is almost over! but last night I was at a meeting for the Young Women (I am a counselor) and anyways I think I am the only one who doesn't keep up a blog - I mean I started one....and my intent was to write in it regularly....but obviously I haven't made the time! So my resolution is to write in my blog more often....so I don't feel left out! hahahahah

So this weekend we are going to Denver to see Meghan Beals get married. We haven't been to Denver since Josh's wedding in March, 2005. We are looking forward to it! We are going to stay with Noah and Chrissy and do a lot of catching up because I am a horrible corresponder (as you can tell by my timely blog posts!).

Gage is in first grade and doing really well with his reading and math skills. Emma is improving on her "bossing" skills and speaking skills and her desire to eliminate me from Bill's attention skills! Bill thinks she is sooooo funny! well actually I do to! anyways I have to go watch Blue's Clues - again!
