Gabbitas family 2025

 Oh what a ride 2025 has been. This year we surprised the kids and took them to Vegas for our 15 year wedding anniversary in march. The kids didn’t know where we were going or that we were taking a plane until we got to the airport. We played in the hotel pool and wandered through the strip, and we did the fly over shows. In July the kids went with gramps and yaya to Michigan while Seth and Andrea went to California, the drive up the coast and saw all the redwoods and beautiful ocean views.. it was amazing and soul refreshing. While the kids got to spend time with cousins and grandparents floating the river, biking on Mackinac island and having fun. In December we went to Disneyland for our Christmas present this year. We also did a lot of hiking over the summer as a family. 

Seth and Andrea saw Matt Nathanson and KT Tunstall and 311 in concert this year. They also saw Matt Rife. The family had lagoon passes this year and spent a lot of the summer there.

On some tougher notes Seth’s grandma passed this year. We know she’s in a better place with her husband who she missed so much. But we miss her lots. Andrea’s mom was diagnosed with leukemia and has spent a lot of time at huntsman’s and other care facilities. It’s been a pretty tough journey but we’re hopeful she has some better days.

Taiyden:

Taiyden finished 7th grade and started 8th. He has been playing trumpet, tenor saxophone, piano and guitar this year. He has a small band with a friend who drums and it’s fun to see what they come up with. He plays in both the advanced band and the jazz band at school. He turned 13 in June and got a scooter he uses to get to school and piano lessons. He has continued to get all A’s and honor roll, he is a part of the national honor society. And doing really well! He also started braces here at the very end of the year. 

Amberlyn:

Amberlyn has continued to be creative and artsy. She has been all about friends this year and is such a fun person to watch grow. She’s been working on her anxiety and ways to deal with it, she’s been going to therapy and really likes the extra support. She’s been doing very well in school. Amberlyn turned 11 this year and got a laptop instead of a birthday party. Amberlyn fell up some stairs and broke her bone next to her eye at school. She’s doing okay now but she had a pretty good black eye for a bit. 

 

Seth: 

Seth is still working for Les Olsen and doing well. We are so proud of him and so grateful we have him.

Andrea: 

Andrea went to as many book signings as she could this year. She’s still working at the school doing recess. And she’s been enjoying her book club.

Gabbitas family 2024

 

This year was a pretty good one for the Gabbitas family! We were able to go to St. George for Seth’s birthday in February and again in September. We saw the new St. George temple and got to visit life flight. In June we went to universal Orlando over Taiydens birthday. Then Andrea and the kids went to Tennessee we saw the grand ole opry, Graceland and an aunt and uncle we haven’t seen in far too long. Then they drove on to Texas for Andrea’s step mom’s family reunion, where we got see our family and meet so many more. Andrea’s dad came over Halloween and that was fun! Seth and Andrea saw blue October in concert and blindlove opened  for them which was amazing. They also saw hollow hill in concert this year. 311 decided they didn’t like Utah and didn’t come this year (sad face). We were able to go do the Halloween lift ride at Sundance and that was a lot of fun!  Seth and Andrea got to see Hamilton and Jeff Arcuri at the Eccles theater this year. Andrea’s mom and brother joined them for thanksgiving and it was a lot of fun! But all in all it was a great year!

Taiyden: Taiyden graduated from elementary school this year ending his last year with all A’s. He took 2nd place in his robotics competition at the end of 6th grade.  And he started jr high where he’s continuing his streak of A’s. He turned 12, had the same shoe size as mom for about 6 months and then decided to have bigger feet than her. After our Orlando/Texas trip taiyden drove home with gramps and yaya, he also acquired 2 accordions on this trip. We were in Orlando over his birthday so we did a small birthday party later, he took 2 friends to see twisters and have pizza.  He still plays trumpet and got to start with 8th grade class in jr high since he’d done 2 years in elementary. He’s also still taking piano and loving it. We’re so amazed by how he’s growing up. He’s Turing into quite the amazing young man. 

Amberlyn: Amberlyn finished 3rd grade and started 4th. She continues to love art. She did a book report in 3rd grade where she had to dress up like the main character and she did the whole costume herself. And mom was able to go a field trip to the planetarium with her. She did the girls on the run program at school this year which ended in them running a 5k. We’re so proud of her for her trying new things and stepping out of her comfort zone. She got a permanent bracelet when we went to St. George in September, she’s loving all the girly things lately. She made a paper tree in her room this year that is pretty cool! We love how creative and talented she is! 

Seth: Seth was promoted to a service manager at Les Olson this year. Which means he works in office now instead of driving all over the place. He’s amazing and wonderful! We’re so grateful for how hard he works for our family! 

Andrea: Andrea went to Disneyland with her friend Eryn in October and had a blast. She’s still working at the school doing recess and loving it.
