We've had a nice summer despite the less than lovely Calgary weather and the fact that until the end of July Juliet was sleeping on my stomach most of the time. Here are some pictures from this summer.
WATERTON was great, despite the weather. Miles hiked the Bear's Hump twice, once with just Coy and then with all the cousins and I decided to go too. We also hiked up to Crandle Lake from the Cameron side with everyone. Apparently on Miles first hike up Bear's Hump people kept stopping him to tell him what a good job he was doing hiking up all by himself. It got to the point where he'd slow his pace even further if he heard people coming, just so that he could "visit." Miles has a hiking pace I can get behind. We swam a bunch and it was just fun to have a bunch of people around. Mom and Dad; Cathy, John and Rachel; Murray, Nadine and Anna; our family; and Jen Sherwood with Dana, Megan, Easton and Everett were all there. Having 8 and 10 year old girls at the cabin with a baby is a perfect combination. They were always eager to hold Juliet. Thank you to Rachel as well for being such a delight.

I was soooo concerned about keeping Juliet warm and having a way to feed her a warm bottle in the night. I slept with the bottle next to my skin to warm it up with body heat and Juliet was very cozy. It was chilly, but she stayed covered all night and only woke up once to eat. Go Jetti.

We went miniature golfing with Miles for the first time and he got a HOLE IN 1 on HOLE 13. Direct quote, "Mom, did you see that. It went straight in. That was AWESOME!" It was awesome. How many of us have been waiting for that allusive hole in 1 on any course. Go Miles.

We went to the waterslide in Kalispell. It also has miniature golf and bumper cars. Miles was really about one inch shy of the height requirement, but the owner and Coy share a mutual love - and I have to say frustration - with the Cubs so he let Miles ride despite the height requirement and and let Coy go in free. Go Cubs. As you can see, Miles can barely reach the controls but he was ecstatic.

Juliet hung out with Grams and Niki most of the day. We found her some shade for napping, eating, visiting, and all those other things that babies do. I spent most of the time running up the hill and riding the slides with Miles. Coy unfortunately lost Miles' trust after he got dunked on their first run so he was sticking close to me the whole day. Juliet was so good and so were Niki and Grams. Thanks you guys.
I just had to post this for the chubby factor. You've got to pinch those legs.
We were in Fairmont for a week, at first with just our family and then with Mom and Dad as well. The weather was hot and we had lots of visitors. It was a great time. Don stayed with us on Saturday night because he was the Stake visitor for the Fairmont Branch. Thanks for the cherries by the way. On Saturday Don called and asked Coy to speak on Sunday and for me to share my testimony. This branch has only 9 active members. The nursery and primary were both self serve, and on Sunday when we walked into to church we found out Charlie (Coy's step-dad) and his daughter and family were all there. So we did self serve primary and then had a fun day and a half with Charlie, Justin and Byron and Suzanne and family.
Mom and Dad had a great time getting to know Juliet. They both took advantage of opportunities to hold her and Mom was great about feeding her so that Miles, Dad and I could go swimming.
Juliet has two poses. Arms as close to her chest and mouth as possible, or arms stretched straight above her head or straight out. Its soooo cute.

August 14th. Juliet is 3 months old today - in Fairmont.
Juliet's first time at the pool. There wasn't enough shade and the pool was a little too cold for her, but we had a good time watching everyone else.

A parent from Miles preschool loaned us a few of her daughter's outfits. When I put this outfit on Miles said "Mom, why does Juliet have on boring clothes today?" Apparently beige = boring. Certainly not her flashiest outfit, but definitely very comfortable.
Juliet does not like tummy time, and on August 1, she decided she disliked it enough to roll herself over. She hasn't done it again, but she's sure looking close.
