ringo starr

So this post is about a month late, but it's better late than never! (I'm still computerless)
So earlier this year I was looking up concerts at USANA Amphitheater cause I was interested in seeing what country artists were coming this summer, I noticed Toby Keith was coming and that was all I was interested in, then I looked down a few more artists and notice that Ringo Starr was coming. I didn't know if it was true or not cause it was pretty random for him to come to SLC, so I texted my friend Lolly and we decided the minute tickets were on sale we were buying them.
So tickets went on sale and Lolly got us 4th row tickets. I was so excited!! I love The Beatles and was so excited to be able to see Ringo. 
So we anxiously awaited for the concert and finally the day came, Todd, Lolly, Steven, Laura and I got in the car and headed to the concert. Of course the first thing we did when we got the was get shirts. I have a slight obsession with t-shirts so I had to get one. 

We got some food and drinks and found our seats and right as we sat down Ringo came out. I had the chills and all the sudden felt like a giddy 6 year old girl that was screaming and giggling. I was in awe, and I was in awe for about a week after the concert. It was so amazing, and so great to see Ringo. It was fun to watch him drum as well, he still has the same facial expressions. 

The concert was amazing, his all star band was fantastic. They sang some of their songs, and Ringo sang some of his new songs and of course some oldies like Yellow Submarine and I Get By With a Little Help From my Friends. Towards the end of the concert we got to go right up to the stage, we tried to get pictures but it didn't work out cause it was dark, but it was fantastic and an unforgettable concert and I will definitely never forget it!

For the past few months my computer has not been working so great, whenever I got on a select few websites like facebook, blogger, gmail and KSL it would just take forever for the page to upload and half the time my browser would just close out of them.  So I decided to take my computer to my parents to see if it was my computer not working anymore or my internet connection at my house, and it ended up being the internet connection. So I decided that it was fine and I would just use my computer when I went to my parents and use it sparingly at my house since it frustrated me so much. Well it just kept getting slower and slower, so I talked to Nick about selling it, it worked everywhere else but our house and I haven't had a use for a mac for a while, it was totally an impulse buy when I worked at Best Buy and I hadn't put any programs on it. So I talked to my friend Jordan who is totally into video editing, commercial art and photo editing and asked him if he would be interested in buying my mac and he said he was and we talked about a price and we decided I would let him know when I was ready to sell my mac. This past weekend I decided (not an easy decision) that I could downgrade and just get a cheap PC that could get me by til I was able to afford a new mac and put the extra money towards bills etc. So I asked Jordan if he still wanted it and he said yes. So he came by and looked at it and took it home with him to see if the internet at his house worked with the computer and it did. So now I sit here on the hubby's laptop with no more apple computer. Not an easy thing for me cause I am totally an apple type person, but my compy is in good hands and I know Jordan will put it to use. So once I finally get my new laptop I can blog more since it won't take an hour to upload pictures and to post the actual blog. 
So goodbye apple you've been good to me, can't wait til I can purchase a new mac in the future.

4th of July was very good to me this year. My sister-in-law and her family came from Colorado, we carried on our Barfuss tradition of going to the Murray parade. I look forward to the Murray parade every year. We always get tons of candy thanks to this awesome sign:

We always have so much fun with the sign, I love the looks we get from it and it's so fun watching the people try throwing candy to make it. And some do, then Nick yells "YES!! First one today!!" Murray parade is a fun tradition. 

After the parade this year we went over to Jessica's house to have lunch and let this kids have a water party. But this year the kids got to do something special. Jessica got each of the nieces and nephews a flower to plant for Baby Jack, it was so sweet to watch them plant flowers for him. It will be such a great reminder for Jessica and her family to look outside and look at the flowers. 

After all the events with the Barfuss family, Lolly and I headed down to Utah county to go to Stadium of Fire. I was so excited when Lolly asked if I wanted to go, her friend was working backstage and had 2 extra tickets, so it was a definite plus that it was a free concert, but I was more excited to see the Beach Boys!! I love the Beach Boys and I seriously had forgotten how much I love them til I heard them live. 

Stadium of Fire is probably one of the coolest things I have been to. All the entertainment was great, the dancers, Alex Boye, the flyover, fireworks and not to mention having Scotty McCreery open for the Beach Boys was pretty awesome. I love his voice, and country music in the summer is the best, he was great! 

 And a great way to end the night was the awesome fireworks. Stadium of Fire has a great firework display, there was fire, fireworks shooting off in the stadium, and great music. All of the music was from all the James Bond movies, it was awesome! 

 4th of July was awesome this year, I always look forward to it. Next is Draper Days and I can hardly wait! I hope everyone had a fun and safe 4th of July!

I finally completed something off my bucket list! I am so excited, here is my list again:

• go to a foreign disneyland {preferably paris}
• go to seattle 
• go to washington dc 
• win something from the radio
• run a half marathon, maybe try a full
• go to harry potter world in florida 
• go on a cruise 
• ride a bicycle built for 2
• go to all the temples in utah
• go visit my hubby's mission
• serve a mission with my hubby
• go to a country concert  [june 14, 2012] 
• read a book in one day {i am horrible at reading so this would be a huge accomplishment}
• graduate college 
• go to disneyland during halloween
• go to cali and see the show "lets make a deal"
• go to the ellen show
• have a harry potter movie marathon
• go to new orleans and eat beignets and gumbo
• go to the kentucky derby
• go to new york city. preferably during the fall or winter.
• go skiing or snowboarding
• go horseback riding [already been but had a bad experience, gotta try again!]
• ice skate at an outside rink
• watch the sun rise 
• go to hawaii
• go to disneyland on my birthday
• have a salon in my house
• become a mom
• go to bear lake

I finally went to a country concert, it was a lot of fun! My dear friend Lolly got me tickets to the Toby Keith concert for my birthday. So nick and I headed to the USANA amphitheater on June 14th and we had a blast, despite all the crazies that were around us. Can't wait to go back to USANA to see Ringo Starr in just a few weeks!

Jack Adam Tidwell

Earlier this year my sister in law Jessica, gave us exciting news that she would be expecting a sweet baby boy in July. I remember how excited I was when I found out, I was excited to have another baby in the family and to have another nephew. 
Everything was going fine with Jess and she would always tell us she was planning on having him 2 weeks early so his birthday wouldn't be so close to her other son's birthday. June came very quickly which meant only one more month til we could meet baby Tidwell. But then last Saturday came, Jessica was no longer able to feel the baby moving. She said the hardest part was making the phone call to her doctor to come in and see what was going on. She called Adam and they went to the hospital only to find out the baby no longer had a heartbeat. 
Jack Adam Tidwell was born stillborn today June 11, 2012 at 10:58 a.m. And he is perfect. I love this little baby so much. Nick and I took the day off today so we could go visit the Tidwell family and baby Jack at the hospital. What an emotional day, but also humbling. It was so good to be surrounded by family, and be reassured that families are forever. Jessica knows that she will hold her sweet baby again. Jessica is one of the strongest people I know, her and her family are so amazing and are examples to me. It was so sweet to see her kids with baby Jack, although they may not understand what is going on exactly, they know they will see their baby brother again. 
I am so grateful that families can be together forever, and I am so grateful for my family, I feel so incredibly grateful to have married into such a wonderful family. I don't know what I would do without them. Baby Jack will never be forgotten, and I will never forget holding my sweet angel nephew. He has truly impacted our family, and we love him so much.

I love you sweet Jack, we will always remember you.

Hair school is probably THE best decision I have ever made. I love it, and I am so glad I chose to go to Taylor Andrews, it is a great school and I know I will get a good education there.
So I have survived my first week of school, it was so fun. I love that we started working on our mannequins the 2nd day of school. I love that it's so hands on, I love being creative and learning all these new things. I can't wait to start cutting hair, and in just a few short weeks I will be!

one week

One week. Just one week till I go back to school. I can't wait to start this new chapter in my life. I am so excited that I chose to do Cosmetology, I am excited to gain a new skill and hobby. I know it will be challenging, I know there will be times I will come home in tears, I know people are going to tell me they hate how I cut their hair, or the color is wrong etc. But, it will all be worth it in the end. The little piece of paper I will get when I complete my hours and take my State Board will prove it!

I appreciate all the support that my friends and family have given me since I made the decision to go back to school, it makes this so much easier and exciting. And also all the support I have had from my husband. I know it's going to be stressful at times when I  am gone all day at school and work, but I know I can come home to a loving husband that will ask how my day was and just hold me when I am tired and just wanting to give up. I know he will listen to me about all my stories and complaints about school, and I know he will be there every second for me through this. 

So Taylor Andrews Academy, here I come! I can't wait to get started!
