13 Weeks

Harrison will be 13 weeks tomorrow! Time is flying by and David and I already feel like he's growing up way too fast!

We spent the weekend cleaning up (and out), packing up outgrown clothes, putting together Harrison's new play gym and swing for upstairs, and watching football. On Saturday night, I left the boys at home and went out with MaryBeth, who was in town visiting her parents for the holidays! It was so much fun to take a break from feeding, changing, and cleaning for a night! Being together made us reminisce on our college days - we felt like nothing had changed since the good ole' days at Ga. Tech! It was so much fun to catch up!

So, this video isn't the greatest and was taken a few weeks ago, but I finally got it to upload. Definitely look for more "stepping" videos - he does it so much these days, so I need to video a better show!

Christmas at the Slye's

What a fabulous Christmas! Harrison slept his way through most of the excitement - David and I were expecting a little more enthusiasm from him, but he had no interest in baking cookies for Santa or opening his gifts! My parents flew in from GA and we spent Christmas Eve in Katy eating dinner at Audrey and Harry's then going to Harry's church for Christmas service, which was wonderful. On Christmas day, we celebrated at our house with a Christmas brunch and then opened presents. Harrison definitely racked up, but the best present by far was a painting that David's dad, Harry painted for us. It's absolutely beautiful!

Due to weather, my parents were forced to stay an extra night before my Dad can fly out. :) They are supposed to leave tomorrow, so David and I were treated to a night at the movies with a FREE babysitter! Australia is a must-see for all you movie lovers! (We also saw Marley and Me - SOOO good! It reminded me of my sweet dog, Sarge, so much - quite the tear jerker.)

David found these awesome infant "games" on the internet and Harrison LOVES the colors and sounds!

Harrison learned so much from my Dad - everytime I caught them together, Dad was teaching him all about how to fly a plane, canoe down a river, build a fort, or go camping!

3 Months Old - Tuesday Dec. 23rd

Harrison had a busy week exercising his neck muscles with the Bumbo! He loves sitting up and observing what's going on around him. I introduced him to the jumperoo, but we need a few more weeks before he actually has "fun" playing in it!

For about a month now, Harrison has loved standing up on our laps. His leg muscles are so strong! He also started "stepping" up our chests about 3 weeks ago! I call it "walking," but have been corrected that right now it's only "stepping!" I guess we still have to conquer crawling! :)

On Monday, we took a field trip to the RBS office, where David's boss, Kevin, dressed up like Santa Claus for all the kids. It was definitely more fun for us - Harrison was wide-eyed, and confused by the excitement the entire time we were there! He got to meet his new friend, Grace, who is about 5 weeks younger. Grace's mom, Komal, and I were thrown a joint baby shower together this summer.

I love my mornings with Harrison - he's such a good sleeper and usually doesn't wake until 7 or 730am. Going into his room early in the morning is the best part of my day- his hair is usually in perfect mowhawk fashion, and he's ready for his breakfast (usually about to gnaw off his fingers!). I feed him and let him play before his early morning nap and he LOVES his mobile, so I had to include a pic of my mowhawk man googly-eyed over his mobile animals!

I can't believe that Harrison is almost 3 months! These past few weeks have flown by! He's busy trying to hold his head up without assistance, but only lasts a little while before he tumbles over!

7 Week Photo Shoot!!!

I had all intentions of taking Harrison to have professional photos done at 2 weeks, or whenever his umbilical cord stump fell off, but by the time the stump fell off we had other issues to deal with and didn't make it to Chubby Foot Photography until he was 7 weeks! Needless to say, I am so glad that we went when we did because he's already changed so much. He was just starting to smile at that point - maybe once or twice a day and David and I would totally freak out when he smiled. Now, he smiles when he eats, poops, and even sleeps, so the next set of photos will be completely different I'm sure.

My only issue with these photos now is that David has to pull back the reigns so that I don't go crazy and make our house a "shrine to Harrison." As a proud Momma, I had more than just several of these photos blown up!! (Hey, we all think OUR own baby is the cutest baby in the world, right??!!!?? So, sue me!!!)

Home for the Holidays

We returned home last Tuesday to 78 degree weather and by Thursday, we were seeing snow fall outside our window the entire afternoon and into the evening! Yes, this is Houston! As the saying goes, "If you don't like the weather, stay a few days!"

I've been busy decorating and getting Christmas presents together, so I haven't taken many pictures of Harrison's 10th week, but below you can see that he's been "chewing" on his fingers/hand a little more. This has been accompanied by an increase in slobber, so I am guessing we're entering a new phase called teething???!!!!!??
