Here I am again, posting about once or twice a year, and really for my own benefit and my children. Just want to remember all that we did and have place where it is documented for them. sooooo.......leaving off at last spring, which is still filled with wonderful memories for me of spending oodles of afternoons at the beach with the girls. They loved it out there and we took full advantage of where we live and I am sooooo thankful as now I am realizing how quickly that will not be the reality we can live in!!
The end of the school year was super. Both girls finished great and we got a fun visit from Big Maggie to kick our summer off right. She spoiled both mommy and the girls and we always enjoy having her around. It is so obvious she is going to be an amazing educator some day and she had lots of projects for the girls as well as special things to do with them. We tried our best to show her a good time, took her out to the beach and to our special doughnut shop!
Then a visit from Stephen which is always a treat, the girls absolutely adore him and we love to see him and his parents whenever we can, hoping they will be here at thanksgiving this year:). We had some great time being here this summer, more than we usually are, and that was a needed and extra break for us. Chris worked a few summer camps at St. Stephens, the girls went to VBS at our church one week and we continued to enjoy the beach. Then came our big trip home to Wisconsin. We knew that we would have to leave KK in Florida, so we would really only have 2 weeks out of town. This made us decide not to waste any of that precious time driving, so Chris flew on his own and I drove with the girls so we could be in Wisconsin the entire 2 weeks. The girls and I had a blast in the car. We rocked out to music, ate a few picnics along the way and really enjoyed our time together. All sleeping in a big king size bed on the way there was quite a treat:))))----but lots of laughs and hopefully the first of many girls road trips.
Wisconsin was a ton of fun. We spent a few days in Wisconsin Dells, where we have never been, and everyone loved it. My parents, Uncle Ditty, and Brady and Clare joined us which was awesome. We did more waterslides than you can imagine and laughed a lot. We left there and went to Sycamore to hang with Michael and Amanda's crew for a few days. We love spending time in the country there----it is so pretty and usually relaxing ----- minus the 7 kids running around:)
The rest of our time was spent relaxing, going to brewer games, lots of time at the park with grandma Mary and Pappa Denny, a quick trip to Marshfield to visit grandma Nita and Grandpa Bob and then back home. Once we got back home we had a few weeks to recover and catch up on sleep until the sheariers came and invaded us here. Uncle Michael and Auntie Mandi and their whole crew along with Grandma Mary and Pappa Denny came to Florida for a week and we spent a ton of time out at the beach and relaxing in the broiling HOT Florida sun! We got a fun date night out with Michael and Amanda to celebrate all of our birthdays and lots of cousin time.
Once they left we had one week until we were back in school, and although it feels like just yesterday, we have now been in school for a little over a month. Mary Cate is adjusting quite well to going all day long, and Maggie is very much soaking up her time alone with mommy!! She goes 5 mornings this year though, which frees mommy up quite a bit, but no worries I seem to have filled that time quite easily. I am slowly on the road to getting licensed to finally use my Masters Degree which I got 2 weeks before MC was born. The process will take a while but I am looking forward to it and it gives me something to do while the kids are in school. I am studying to take the state test and actively looking for a reputable place that I might enjoy getting the 1700 hours I will need to be able to officially have a license in the state of Florida!
