The girls and I went to S.D. for 10 days of fun family time. Corynn had a couple of days off for fall break so I let her miss a couple more so I could stay and play in a volleyball tournament my sister inlaw Holly asked me to play in. We had a wicked cool girls night in honor of Brei's Birthday, we went to Tucson and painted pottery at the mall, ate at the Macaroni Grill and then went bowling! I haven't had that much fun for a long time. Thanks ladies! Hyrum came down the last couple of days and we went to U of A's Homecoming football game and had a great time, of course we won which helped. We had a great time visiting with both the Cottrell Grandparents and the Judd Grandparents and are excited to go back for Thanksgiving. We got back home and had forgotten how cold it was up here. Mother Nature didn't let up for Halloween either! Cold and windy trunk or treat at the church. I remember when the girls used to sweat in their costumes in Tucson...now I have to put warm clothes on under their costumes. Anyhoo the girls loved it as usual which makes it all worth it right?

First Day of 2nd Grade!

Poor Corynn has gone to 3 different schools in 3 years. Not even military families move that much, do they? Highland Primary is her school for now and at least will attend 3rd grade there as well before she has to move on to Snowflake Intermediate. Two years at one school yea! She loves her teacher Mrs. Sims and has already made new friends.

We finally closed on our house in July(took 3 very long months). So most of June and July was spent packing/cleaning. Got into our house mid July and two weeks later Hyrum and I went to Kauai for 8 much needed days of rest and relaxation. However by day 5 I was missing my girls. The morning we were leaving Hyrum mentioned that I may have been a tad more excited to leave Hawaii than I was to go to Hawaii. I loved it though and we both want to go back (with the girls!)While we were there we kayaked the Wailua River then hiked to one of many water falls we saw, visited 3 different beaches one of which we snorkeled off of and got a little burned ;) we were going to hike the Waimea Canyon until we got there and realized it was the Grand Canyon of Hawaii! Beautiful though. Visited all the little towns along the coast and saw pretty much the whole island.

Playing catch up

Our family has been super busy this summer and I have neglected my journal(blog). I intend to play catch up with it this week, we'll see how that goes. After I'm done I intend to play catch up on everyone elses blogs. Peace out.

June Edward Jones Summer Regionals in Scottsdale, only picture I took the whole weekend. But felt it blogworthy. Girls sacked out! E.J. takes good care of our family at regionals, the girls had a great time at the resort water park and the children's activities. Hyrum and I had a good time dressing up and attending the awards banquet.

Allison Turns 4!

Alli turned 4 on the 6th! She wanted to spend the day with "Macole"(Nicole) so Donna dropped her off that morning and we went to Show Low's McDonalds because they have a play area! We went home after that and they decorated crowns and played dress up(Alli's favorite). We had to get Audra's fingers out of the cake 3 times, that kid is a really good climber! Eventually Dad got home from work so we could really party! It was a fun day for Alli, she was all smiles all day!

Little League Opening Day

Saturday was the opening day for little league. This is Corynn's first time to play little league. She had a double header (first and last double header for the season thank goodness)and got good hits and made it to base every at bat! It was a long day but she loved it. The weather was a beautiful 78 degrees with a slight breeze. Alli and Audra enjoyed snow cones and tried to eat sunflower seeds with Dad.

Audra turned two today although she thinks she's 18! She runs the show around here and we let her because she's the baby. We love you charlie!

Me 26 years ago?

My mom always says, "Payback is a booger". She also said to me, "I hope you have a daughter just like you" in a loving tone of course;)...well I hope you're happy mom.

Little Miss Stink got into my makeup bag and found my loose powder...can you tell she's sorry? Yeah neither can I.


I would however, like to take this opportunity and publicly apologize for which ever sibling's bed I made smell "baby fresh" that day. I'm sorry. I mean it.

Corynn turns 7!

Corynn's b-day was yesterday. We're glad she joined us 7 years ago and made us a family. She had a fun day yesterday, she woke up to money under her pillow from the tooth fairy. Hyrum signed her out of school and took her to lunch at Pizza Hut. Later in the afternoon Alli, Audra and I took her class donuts(evidentally they've had alot of cupcakes the last 3 weeks with b-days) so we thought we'd change it up a bit. Then we had her favorite dinner of Spaghetti and french bread, she blew out her candles on her cake, we ate it and then she opted to wait for Papa Sam and Grandma Jeannine to get here so she could open presents with them. They were on their way to Colorado to visit Aunt Ronda and so they spent the night last night which was a fun treat for the birthday girl.

I do believe the piano is her favorite gift. I asked her if she wanted to do dance or piano, I'd love for her to do both but dance is alot more expensive up here than it was in Tucson so she had to make a choice and she chose piano so I found an inexpensive starter one on Craigslist and she loves it. She really loves music so we figured she could start developing her talent in that area. The house has all of a sudden got a little louder as well ;)

Alli saw me mopping water off the floor that Audra had spilled and said, "Mommy you poor thing! You look just like Cinderella mopping the floor". Alli gets 2 brownies after dinner tonight.

Today is number 8 for Hyrum and I. While we were down in S.D. for the Holidays he took me to Lowe's Ventana Canyon Resort for a night away (since we knew today would mean getting back in the daily grind after the Holidays, which proves correct thus far). It was a beautiful place though, and we had a great time. Tucson still feels like home and we miss it. But we are enjoying life here too, happy #8 u.
