Let's stop focusing on what you don't do..

and focus on what you do, do.
I am in denial of all adult responsibility. At least for a little while longer.
Brazil Bound- Curitiba, located in southern Brazil, to be exact. Na will report to the MTC in Brazil on March, 31st 2010. Yup, heading straight to Brazil, probably best.
Nate is thrilled and already learning a bit of Portuguese. Right, burro?
The Palmers came up from Tucson for Will’s Amphi football game against Williamsfield. We tailgated, and cheered throughout one of the most exciting football games I have seen. We love #21!!!!Katie had a totally RAD birthday party to celebrate the last 31 years. Nathan opted not to dress 80's considering he wasn't even born. Weird. The neon was ooc and the splatter painted shirt and leggings were so West school. DJ Tanner wannabe.Funny thing.... I hung out with this crowd in the 80's (excluding the boys).
Phil Vassar baby! There is just something about pounding on that piano that gets me every time. Check out those triceps that flare as he plays. YES, PLEASE!The future Mrs. Vassar. Don't judge his hair. The recession has hurt him too.Phil's opening act, Lucky Blue- Uh, huh... that is what I thought too.
Contrary to this photo, I was quite social with my relatives at our Palmer family Christmas Party..... However, I did get much snuggle time with Cav. He is the best snuggler.

Wanna hear somethin' weird?

Always.
Over October break, Rigby and I spent a couple days at a resort in Escondido. Here we have some documenting valuables.

Finding this gem. I am not sure what I like more; the lacy bow around the neck or the text?

Compliments of the Zac Brown Band... "Got my toes in the water, toes in the sand, not a worry in the world....life is good today."One morning we woke up at 4a.m. to drive to Hollywood to attend a taping of the Dr. Phil show. Because we adhered to the dress code, we got a pink slip to sit right up front by the Dr. himself. Pretty interesting to see how it all works, especially the "before show ritual" of Beyonce's Single Ladies video to get the crowd up and dancing. Don't ever let me make this face again.__________________________________________________________________
I feel bad for posting these photos- Although I enjoyed listening to the piano music at Howl at the Moon, watching these peeps was the real entertainment. Totally worth the $7. Take this girl for example...didn't last long.
I have him on video which I will save for a rainy day. HILAR.
WHERE ARE HER FRIENDS????

And the girls who laugh at it all........

I realized 3 things today

1. I lack wit. and it bothers me. (Allie, remember that time we were at a bookstore and were going to buy a book that would help us become funny? We should have gotten it.)

2. It IS the most wonderful time of year. Here is why. Cardigans. Everywhere. Thank you Banana, you make me happy.

3. I can't go to Barnes and Noble and just browse. I love (and own- thanks Ash) this book and now there are 2 more!!!!
The author randomly began handing out postcards to strangers and leaving them in public places- He asked people to write down a secret they had never shared and mail it to him. anonymously. The secret could be a regret, fear, betrayal, desire, confession, etc. It just has to be true and never shared with anyone. For the last couple years I have been thinking of what my "post-secret" is. I think I finally got it! Sadly I had to put that book back on the shelf, (along with several others) but could not leave without...and read it in one day (thank you Veterans!). Who would have thought Stephanie Judith Tanner would have turned into such a mess? Pin a rose on your nose.

Post Secret confessions (from the book, not me):
-I only pick up my dog's turds when people are watching.
- I still suck my thumb, I'm 18.
- I used to think the rhythm was gonna get me.
- I can eat a dozen donuts in one sitting.
- I waste office supplies because I hate my boss.
- Sometimes I put coins in other people's parking meters.

And they're off....

Today is the day and this is how we feel...

However, when I think of the next two years (and the fact that the Cards lost) I feel more like this... (sigh)

The papers were sent off to Salt Lake today. "Boys go on missions all the time," people say. And all I say is, "yeah but those boys aren't Nay Nay." Brother, I really am excited for you and I get even more excited when I see you so excited as you prepare. You are going to be a stellar missionary.

Ps- no, I don't have black eyes, just the look I get after an excellent Sunday nap and an evening of grading papers and lesson planning.

Is this for real?

I have HIM in my class too...... Remember Derek, Michelle Tanner's friend? (Allie, remember this is a PUBLIC blog)To hold you over... IF you have some time, check out this site. It kept me entertained for HOURS. www.peopleofwalmart.com

you are one lucky guy!

dang he is cute.

Kay, I do- I LOVE him! He makes me talk in my high giddy school girl voice. I thought it was cute when he used his arms to show Jillian how much he liked her. (she wanted to hear love) I understood where he was coming from.....Once he really does find me, he won't know what hit him.... He will be saying.."Jillian who?" I am booking a flight to Philly now. Thanks Allie for welcoming him to the fam.

Summer in pictures

Hard to believe my night owl days are over... no more driving to Allie's to layout and hitting Sonic happy hour on the way home. Those days will be missed, but after Meet the Teacher Thursday, I am anxious to get this school year started! Here goes:
Nashville- What a trip...fun was had, songs were sang, people were met, and memories were made. Concerts all day, concerts all night- for me, that is my happy place. Just posting a few of my favorites...
Traveling companions: Kristen and Erica
Lady Antebellum- stunning.. although she needed a bra. Doesn't she have a stylist? Yeah, they would be fired.
Luke Bryan- new to the country scene and I am now a fan...
Can never go wrong with a little Clay- Cheryl, he was looking for you. AND I thought of you when he was doing his hip thrust dance... you know which one I am talking about.
The first night after Brooks and Dunn and part of Reba performed, the concerts were cancelled due to the stupid weather. That was the night I was looking forward to the most. We didn't get to see Brad Paisley, Deirks, OR Rascal Flatts...we left the stadium in the POURING rain, hailed a limo (seriously that was the only thing we could find. it was raining. and my hair was on its way to looking like the bride of frankenstein), paid a very pretty penny to ride in style to meet up with my friend Jay at the Tin Roof and listen to Phil Vassar's band play. We sang and enjoyed mingling with the locals- we HAD to introduce ourselves to 5 new people. We left with some friends we made (smart, right?) and lived like Nashvillians. Amongst the friends we made, we met Bobbi with an I. You tube Phil Vassar's new video, Bobbi with an I, and you will recognize THIS guy. He was hilar.
Jake Owen.......
I sat next to these girls every night at the night concerts. So cute. From Nashville.
Kenny- Apparently Kenny is a pretty small guy. One guy described him as a "gnome." "He is a freakin lawn ornament." I laughed. More than laughed, I could hardly breathe.
While waiting for our flight at the Nashville airport, I spotted a very nice looking man with plaid shorts, ball cap, talking on his cell. Yup- it was Phil. Phil Vassar is my Tim McGraw, my Kenny Chesney, my country love. Before I could even think, my feet were walking toward him and before I knew it we were side by side. He was off his phone and looked and me and smiled. The only thing I could spit out was, "hi." I don't remember the conversation (or have made myself forget) because I started talking too fast, and giggling too much. I remember telling him I was from Phoenix and he was going to San Diego with his band (behind him). I think I also mentioned that I see him everytime he is in Az and maybe, just maybe asked about his daughters.. I hope I didn't, but it may have slipped out. I regret not taking a picture with him but still laugh when I think of the whole encounter. I was feeling a little stupid with the approach, and a lot stupid for what I said...... oh Audrey.

Weekend trip to Roosevelt Lake with the Alder's. We spent the night in their house boat (the only camping I will do- counts, right?), and enjoyed boarding and tubing and most of all the Asian.
Yeah ALLIE!!!!!!!
__________________________________________________________
Father's day: I love my Daddy because he speaks Spanish (gibberish) and can make me laugh.
_________________________________________________________
Girls weekend in Sedona- Teacher friends and I spent 4 days in Sedona relaxing. We stayed in this posh time share where there was a flat screen in EVERY room (5) and a bathtub to fit 4...I could get used to that.
_________________________________________________________
WICKED!!!! was wonderful, especially from 3rd row! Katie and I were in heaven!Me and Gaaaalinda.
________________________________________________________
Dilling-dams came for a visit. We got to go watch Brooke and Layne play in some volleyball tourneys. They are pros, just like their sis. _________________________________________________________
Over the years I have saved shirts from vacations, high school, concerts, etc. with the idea to hand em over and pay someone to make a quilt/blanket for me. Heather offered to help me make it- I warned her before hand what she was dealing with... I am pleased with the outcome- thanks for your patience Heather. This is one of my highlights this summer.
I moved classrooms and miss my yellow hallway friends. My new room is ready (thank goodness cause the darlins come tomorrow!!!) I kept the dots, but incorporated more color. Loving my vinyl Katie and Kris...thanks so much!

Keith Urban- He just does it for me. I usually get annoyed with accents, but not his. My favorite photo of the night! We celebrated dad's 57th birthday today! We love you Biggie!!!! You are my favorite dad in the whole wide world.

Happy Annie??? PS- Congrats!!!!!! I am so excited for you! I think Chicago may just have to be on my "to visit" list!
