June

Here are some of the things we have been doing in June.All of our kids love going outside. S has found a sandy area nearby and will sit and play in it for hours if I let him. D is learning to ride a two-wheeler. He is really afraid of falling and getting hurt. So progress has been pretty slow. This girl lives across the grass from us. She really likes to walk around the circle with D. She is dropping all the hints, but for now D is clueless. He is going to be quite the ladies man when he figures it out.





In June we celebrate D's birthday on day and N's the next. These pictures are from those parties.

N got a new doll and a stroller. She loved the doll and wouldn't stop kissing.

But she wouldn't let the doll sit in the stroller. Every time we tried to put it in, she would pull it out and sit in it herself.

A had to work late on the day of D's birthday. He didn't get home until after they went to bed. So we packed up his gifts and some cake and had a little party in the back of the van at Adobe.Grandma gives the kids a dollar for ever year old they are. (One dollar on their first b-day 2 on their second.) Here is D enjoying his b-day money.

That weekend we invited our neighbors and some cousins over for a pool party. All the kids loved it. Even N loved being in the pool. We had a lot of fun.

May

May was a pretty busy time for us. D was in soccer for the end of April and beginning of May. He enjoyed it again this year. During one of the practices, the decided to choose a goalie. D was the best one. He did awesome. The biggest problem was that he didn't get to run up and down the field. His coach finally realized this, so he would goalie the first half and be in the middle of the action for the second half. The funny thing was that he didn't like to get in the crowd for fear of getting kicked. He would try to run all the way around the group to get to the ball. When he played goalie however, he was fearless. He would reach out and grab the ball, almost getting his face kicked a few times.N spent May learning how to walk. She is so proud of herself to be able to do it. Now that she is mobile, she is into everything. She love climbing, but once she gets up, she has a hard time getting down and she gets so frustrated. Its actually quite fun to watch her try to figure out how to get down.She also loves to sing. We start singing to her, and she will join in. It is cute to hear. She is even starting to follow the tune. I will sing something, and she will try to repeat it. I sometimes actually hear the tune come out. I am starting to understand how people can claim that they were singing before they were even talking.

My parents got home from their mission at the end of May. They came and stayed with us for a few weeks. We really enjoyed having them here. The boys had really missed them, and N had never met them. (Sadly I didn't get any pictures while they were here. I been a real slacker when it comes to pulling out my camera.)

While my parents were here, D finished his first year of school. He is officially a first grader. I can't believe it. He is very happy to have a full summer off. He was getting tired of homework. S is very happy to have him home too. He missed him when he was at school.

S is learning a lot of stuff at home. He is very proud that he can spell his own name. He is learning to spell other things too. If I ask him to spell something, he is figuring out how to break it down into each individual sound. He even read a couple of words from a book to me. He got bored pretty quick though.

Bed Time

So the other night we were putting the kids to bed. We went through our normal routine. S really didn't want to go to bed. I tucked him in anyway and kissed him good night. On nights like that, we usually leave him alone and he'll cry it out and fall asleep. I came back downstairs to do just that. He did quiet down for about 5 minutes. The next thing we know, he comes downstairs and says, "Morning Mommy, morning Daddy, I awake." We just had to laugh. He really wasn't happy when we told him it wasn't morning and he had to go back to bed.

Easter

Saturday night, we ended up having 2 visitors. The Easter Bunny and the Tooth Fairy. D's tooth actually came out Friday night after he went to bed, but the Tooth Fairy couldn't change her schedule for the night and had to come Saturday night. (He didn't tell us his tooth fell out. He just put it under his pillow expecting it to be gone the next morning.)

We spent most of the day with A's brother and his family. They live in South Jordan so we didn't have far to travel. While we were there, we took a quick trip down the street to see my sister-in-law and her girls who were down from Boise visiting her family. I finally got to see my newest niece. She was born in Jan.
