Christmas Wrap-Up

Christmas Frog

Greer's school had its annual Christmas Program this week, and it did not disappoint. The theme was presents under the Christmas tree, and each class dressed as a different type of toy. Greer's class was stuffed animals, and Greer requested to be a stuffed frog. Here she is in a pitiful, homemade costume (don't judge - I'm a working mother)...the third from the right.

After a successful performance, it was snack time, and Greer was all smiles.

On a different note, Celia had her six-month check-up with the doctor this week. She looks good, and everything went well. She weighed 17 lbs even (75th percentile), was 26 1/4 inches long (75th percentile), and her head measured 16 inches (10th percentile - the doctor reassured us this is no indication of her intelligence :). She continues to be such a sweet, good baby, and is already sitting-up by herself! She is a cutie!

First Christmas

We celebrated our first Christmas of the season this weekend at MamaSu's house. It was nice, relaxing, non-stressful, and delicious! Here are a few shots from the festivities:

Six Months Old!

It's hard to believe that baby Celia is six months old! The first few months seemed to move at a snail's pace (while I was home with her), but since returning to work, the time has flown by! Here are some details about our sweet girl:

• Celia cried a lot and didn't sleep well from the time she was born until she was three months old. Since then, she has been the most pleasant baby who sleeps well (relative to other six month olds).
• It's easy to get a smile from Celia. She is a happy baby, and even smiles at strangers when they smile at her.
• She is a great eater! She is still nursing 5 - 6 times a day, and eats baby food two times a day. She especially loves prunes, mangos, and pears.
• She loves to be held and cuddled, and will lay her head on your shoulder and close her eyes when she's sleepy.
• Celia loves her big sister, and smiles whenever Greer shows her any attention (which is not that often). She enjoys watching people, in general.
• Celia is fascinated with baby toys, particularly toys (or anything else) with tags. Eventually, though, everything goes in her mouth.
• She is sitting-up pretty much by herself, although she does tend to lean forward some.
• She likes peek-a-boo, and other little games. She's even laughing now!
• Celia is a big girl! She's wearing all 9 month clothes now, and some are even snug already! She has the cutest little fat rolls on her legs and little sausage arms. I kiss them probably 50 times a day.
• She's very chatty - loves to squeal and make various sounds. She also prefers to stand-up with assistance rather than lay down or sit.
• Celia lost almost all of her hair, but it is growing back a pretty chestnut color, possibly with red undertones. Her eyes are dark blue.

Whew! That was a long update, but I hope you can tell what a wonderful baby she is and how much we love her!

Photo Shoot Success!

We made another attempt over the weekend to take a Christmas card-worthy photo of the girls. Success! While they are not professional-quality photos, I think we managed to capture their sweet smiles and happy spirits. Here are a few that didn't make the final cut, but I think they're precious, anyway.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Greer's school hosted a Thanksgiving lunch for the kids' parents, and Greer was thrilled to have Greg join her for the special meal. Here she is in her pilgrim's hat.

Weekend in Pictures

Our weekend in pictures includes a failed attempt at getting a Christmas card photo with perfect lighting and two smiles, a bed full of everyone (typical scene on Saturday mornings), and a happy baby. It was a good weekend.

Celia's Baptism

Celia was baptized today, and it was a wonderful moment. She was an angel through the whole ceremony, and it was a very touching event. Celia continues to be such a sweet and special child, and we are just so thankful for her everyday.

Greg's family came into town for the occasion, and had a fun time seeing the girls.

We also celebrated Debby's birthday with lunch at 12 Bones and a delicious carrot cake. My friend, Abby, made the cake. It tasted as good as it looks! Abby has a cake business called Simply Abby Cakes (link is in my link list on the right side of the blog), and she does a great job. I recommend her to anyone in the Asheville area in need of a cake or cupcakes :).

Fall Festival

Our church's annual Fall Festival was Sunday, and Greer had a great time as usual. For Halloween this year, she wanted to be a "Pink Princess." Here she is in all her glory...

We're Still Here!

It's been a while! With a family of four, things have gotten busy around our house, and blogging has fallen down the priority list (just behind carving pumpkins and Sunday dinners). I hope you understand...

We are all doing great, and loving the fall weather in the mountains! Greer is as funny as ever (one day I'll write a post of all the funny things she tells us), and Celia is growing so fast! She is now weighing in at 14 lbs, 10 ounces! She's eating rice cereal, and is just so happy - such a wonderful baby! Here are a few pictures. I hope to add a video of Celia soon (we have a new computer, and are still figuring it out...).

A Visit from Granny

Granny came to Asheville for a visit this past weekend. She had lots of good quality time with all the great-grandbabies. See all the photos HERE. On a side note, Celia will be 14 weeks tomorrow (Tuesday), and she couldn't be more adorable. She is such a sweet baby, and is growing up too fast!

The Beach!

We went to the beach last week, and had such a good time! It was Greer's first visit to the ocean, and she was in awe. She was a little hesitant to get into the water at first (afraid of sharks), but quickly turned into a little fish. Celia loved the beach, too, and found the crashing waves and wind in her hair to be very relaxing. MamaSu joined us for the trip so that Greg and I could go out at night (and during the day, too). Celia at 3 Months

Celia is three months old! She is such a sweetie, and is really fun to be around these days. She loves to smile and talk to us, and especially loves attention from her big sister. She is still a great eater, and is quite a little butterball. She is so sweet, and we can't get enough of her!

She started daycare this week at the same school that Greer goes to. I've spent the last three months holding and cuddling her all the time, so daycare will be a transition. Hopefully, all will go smoothly.

Happy Baby

Baby Celia is showing more and more of her personality everyday, and loves to interact with us after a nap and a full belly. She is sitting-up pretty well by herself (with the help of the bumbo chair), and loves to smile and coo. She really gets some big grins going, but she was a little distracted by my camera so her smiles are smaller in these photos. I'll try to video her next time.
