Is this thing on? *tap*tap*tap*

Phew- how has it been so long since my last post? How is August almost over?!

I have been super busy with my photography business, and will slowly be integrating my personal blog with my business one. It will just be easier to be streamlined!

I am still keeping up with my 52 weeks project, and if you haven't seen them on facebook already, here are my 3 most recent shots.

I would love if you added my photography blog to your list of sites- and leave me a comment here or there if you still read this!

Three

My Dear Evan,

You turned three today. I am still not quite sure how it happened. It is hard to pinpoint the exact moment you went from my chubby little baby to the strong, funny, lean little boy you are today.

I feel like just yesterday I was holding you in my arms at the hospital. I remember looking at you for the first time. It was so surreal. You were so perfect and I couldn't believe you were mine. My heart had never felt so full of love.

You woke up today with a smile on your face. You great everyday with enthusiasm. You ran downstairs to play with Grampa, but a few minutes later you came back upstairs and snuggled up with me. When Grampa came to look for you, you told him "I was just snuggling with my favorite Mommy, Grampa."

I am so proud of the little man you have become, Evan. I don't think I will ever be able to tell you that enough. Sometimes, I look at you and your sweet little face and it brings tears to my eyes I am so proud of you. You are polite, inquisitive, funny, and sometimes a little stubborn. You push the boundaries. You need me to kiss you if you get hurt. You share your toys with your baby brother. You keep me honest and you keep me humble. Most of all, you keep me smiling.

I hope you had an amazing birthday. You ate special pancakes for breakfast, and then we went to the Rockies game. At the game- they treated you like royalty. They sang you happy birthday, you got to meet Dinger, and they even gave you a special birthday pin. You made it 8 innings, and then fell asleep in Daddy's lap during the 9th inning. You slept the whole way to the car, and then woke up when we buckled you in.

Back at Omi and Grampa's, you opened your presents like a seasoned pro. You are so appreciative and people love to get you things because the joy in your voice is addictive. You blew out the candle on your cake all by yourself. You declared it the best day ever.

Your birthday will always be the best day ever to me, too. It was the day I became your Mommy. Tonight at dinner you snuggled in my lap. I rested my cheek on your soft curly hair, and you started to sing a song. I couldn't understand it all, but the two lines I heard brought tears to my eyes and joy to my heart. Your small, pure voice singing "You are the best mommy in the world" and "I will love you always, Mom". I am so lucky.

Happy Birthday, Son. My wish for you is that you will continue to great each day with enthusiasm, and that you will embrace every adventure that comes your way. I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings.

Love Forever,
Mommy

52 Weeks- Week 20

Week 20: We drove to the small town of Peninsula, OH about 2 hours north to take part in "A Day Out with Thomas". I loved seeing the wonder in Evan's eyes as he got to see his favorite train in person, and even ride on him.

You can check out more about our adventure here!

52 Weeks- Week 19

Week 19: Our week is full of playdates, birthday parties and even a few trips to the park. We cap it off by taking a family trip to Evan's favorite playground, followed by dinner at The Dog Joint, and a walk in downtown Westerville. Nothing beats a Friday outside with my favorite boys!

Ten on Tuesday- Kids Say the Darndest Things Edition

Some recent little gems from Evan:

1. "I just have nipples, right Mommy? Not boobies?"

2. "I think the mommy duck and the baby ducks are eating sandwiches and broccoli because those are their favorite."

3."That water really quenches my thirst, Mommy." (I kid you not.)

4. "I love you so much, Mommy. I am really proud of you for listening to Daddy's words." (Hold on son- I wear the pants around here. Don't I?)

5. "Oh no, Mommy. Daddy can just do that." (After I told him I needed to go work to earn money for the family.)

6. "Boys have penises and cars. Girls have parties." (Obviously the age appropriate birds and bees talk we gave him didn't quite translate.)

7. "I just want some peace and quiet now, Mommy." (After he turned off my Taylor Swift cd.)

8. "No mom, I don't think that would be perfect."

9. "I like making shenanigans, Daddy!"

And this one, oh, he will kill me for this someday, but it is too good not to share.

10. "Oh no! Oh no! Oh no! There is something in my pants!" *frantically strips off pants and diaper* "Oh- it was just my penis."

52 Weeks- Week 18 Happy Mother's Day!

Week 18: Mother's Day. My 3rd with Evan and my first with Wes. It was a blissful day and I feel so blessed to have such wonderful little boys as my sons. Wes and I slept until 8:15, then Chris took the boys downstairs and I stayed in bed and read a book. I got pancakes and omelettes in bed, then took a nice hot shower. While the boys napped, I went to Nordstroms and the Container Store. When they woke up, we went to a cool area of downtown called Short North to walk around. I got to look in a really cute little store, then we had dinner on the patio of my fav resteraunt and then had Jeni's icecream. At home, I got to watch my fav TV show.

Evan got me an airplane ("Maybe you can share it with me, Mommy!") and Chris wrote me a really nice long note in my card that made me cry. He also got a card from each boy with their handprint traced and Evan colored me kites, flowers and a tunnel!
