Since snow is rather rare here in Southern Utah, and we haven't lived in a snowy place for 6 years, we were not well equipped clothing wise, but still had a blast!

Finishing Up the Year

As the year comes to a close I want to play catch up a little on the things I’ve missed. Peter’s job is still going really well and at the end of every day he is so happy with what he does. Prosthetics was meant for Peter! I am still working for a Chiropractor, just two afternoons a week and I absolutely love what I do too! You'll read more about the girls below. I’ve got a lot to catch up on… I do this mostly for me but if you are so inclined to read the following enjoy! We have been very blessed this year.

One last thing: Some posts have a "read more" button you have to click to see the whole post. Also, I intended for these posts to be in some kind of orderly manner, but it just didn't happen that way. Enjoy anyways :)

Grandma's Passing

On September 14th, 2012 my Grandmother passed away. She was ready to be with her husband again and passed peacefully in her sleep.

We were blessed to be able to spend some time with her during her last months on earth. Here is a picture of her pushing the girls on her walker (I don't know who enjoyed it more, Grandma or the girls!) and a little entry from my journal of my last memory of Grandma.

We love you Grandma Roberts! We look forward to reuniting with you again someday.

Journal Entry:

I am so grateful we had the chance to live near her for a year before she passed away. We have so many fun memories and pictures with the girls and her. She made us laugh so much, and oh how she loved Chloe and Mae! The little kids really brightened her up.

We saw Grandma a few days before she died. The last thing she said to me was, “Are you going on a date?” She was looking at my skirt and shirt (It was Sunday the day we visited) and I laughed and said no I had just been at Church. Then Peter came in and she looked at him and smiled, and asked if I would share J We laughed again.

Thanksgiving

Thanks to my wonderful father-in-law I don’t have to post much on this one… just click on the few links to his blog and you will get to see all the fun we had! I was too busy hosting (okay, playing really) to take pictures but John was on the ball and got some great shots of our fun weekend. I really, really really enjoyed hosting Peter’s family for Turkey day and we can’t wait to do it again soon!

The Girls

What have the girls been up to lately?

Growing up, that’s what.

Chloe:

Chloe is going to preschool and has a dance class. She is as sassy and fun as ever with the best imagination and a true gift when it comes to music and dancing (and many other things). She loves to take charge, play with our dog Roxy, and be told she is beautiful J

Chloe Facts:

Chloe has memorized a scripture from Proverbs and is very proud of her accomplishment

She frequently has to say, “Here Mom let me do it” when it comes to many things. I keep thinking “how does my four year old know how to put this thing together better than I do??” She has an engineering mind, like her Dad.

Mae:

Sweet Mae we like to call her. Mae gets to hang out with Mommy a lot. She is a great helper and wants to help me cook and clean and fold laundry. She loves to snuggle with Daddy and freely gives kisses and “I love you’s.” She is (almost) always great at being Chloe’s side-kick and I’m so glad they have each other, and will have each other as close sisters forever.

Mae: “Yes, Sir”

-“Daddy, Santa will be here in just a sec okay!”

-“Daddy, you’re my buddy”

-Mae often forgets whether she is talking to Mom or Dad so it comes out “Momdee” a lot and always makes us laugh

River Trip

I must post about an epic rafting trip Peter and I took with our good friends, the Hazards, over Labor Day weekend. We spent four full days and three nights rafting the San Juan River. We would raft all day while pulling out to see sites and at the end of the day camp. Just look at the pictures and you’ll get the idea. If you haven’t ever done a multi-day rafting trip I highly recommend it! Like I said... EPIC!

Warner Family Reunion 2012

We had a really fun, low key summer. Our main “event” was the Warner family reunion with my parents, siblings and their spouses/children. We stayed at a gorgeous huge house in northern Utah and had an absolute blast. We went to a local 4^th of July parade, had a pinewood derby race, played at a reservoir, went to the Kennecott mine, played Wii Dance, had Mommo’s (Grandma’s) candy store, got to watch my brother and his wife be sealed to their daughter, Tyler at the Temple (so awesome!) and mostly ate, played games and enjoyed being together.
