Lazy Summer Days

In a little over a week we will be returning to school. I am SO not done with summer. It has been wonderful. Lots of relaxation, a trip to Florida, and successful completion of a 5-week educational psychology course. I just dread the thought of getting back to the crazy whirl of life. I am hopeful that I will enjoy this new batch of second graders. I've done a lot of planning and revamping to improve my classroom environment and teaching. We'll see if it does any good. In two days we drive Ashley down to Purdue so the house is cluttered with boxes and piles. It will be so hard to leave her there, I'm desperately trying not to think about it. Looking back it's been a great summer, looking forward... we'll see how it goes.

The Graduates

It was an exciting month that ended with Blake graduating from 8th grade and headed to Northrop High School and Ashley graduating 6th in her class from high school and headed to Purdue University. I am so proud of these two. I have been so blessed to be their mom.

Senior Awards night

The past month has been a whirlwind of Senior Banquets, Senior Breakfasts, Senior Awards, Sterling Sentinel Awards, and farewell to Senior night with Charisma. It has been a blast! I have enjoyed every minute (or 4 hours at Charisma) of it. She has worked hard for four years and now is getting the fruits of her labors. Dad of course couldn't be prouder and is thrilled that she will be heading to Purdue in the fall.
