Another Hair Post....

One morning as I was getting ready for the day, straightening my hair, Sydney came in the bathroom and pointing to the straightener said "I want it hair." So, I figured she wanted a new look. She sat really still as I straightened her hair. When I was done, I started cracking up. I thought she looked so funny, but Jimmy actually liked it!

Merry Christmas!

Sydney had a great Christmas morning. She found that Santa left her a kitchen and a stocking full of presents. (Her mommy hopes Santa brings presents fully assembled for next year so she doesn't have to stay up until 3 am assembling gifts!)

Gingerbread House

We've been waiting a long time to make this house since Jimmy bought the kit at Halloween! We finally decided that the snow day was the perfect time to make our house. Sydney loved it! I think it might have to do with the fact that she kept snacking on the candy and frosting (so did her dad...).

Don't ask me why Sydney didn't cry for the Santa at the Ward Christmas party but did for the one on the train.

Jimmy's parents drove down and went on the Santa Train with us this past weekend. We had a great time. (Well, except when Sydney screamed when Santa came near her. She did much better with Mrs. Claus.)

Am I Getting Through to Her?

Actually, I am pretty sure Sydney is learning to work the system. After pouring juice on her stuffed animals and getting sent to time out, she didn't immediately start crying. Usually that's what she does. This time as I put her in her time out spot she immediately said "Mommy, I behave." I had to leave the room so she wouldn't see me laughing. She is continuing to yell "Mommy, I behave" as I type this!

What We've Been Up To....

I love this time of year. There is always fun stuff to do. We have:

decorated the tree,watched the Christmas parade,

(and now whenever we leave the house Sydney says "Go to parade?")
had family and Sydney's pictures taken,
and went to and from my cousin Adam's California wedding in one day.
While at Adam and Heather's wedding,
we visited my cousin Jenny who recently returned from a mission.
Sydney loved the fish and turtles living in the little stream that ran through inside the hotel where Adam and Heather got married.
Sydney also enjoyed riding the glass elevators up and down the 10 stories of the hotel.

We also went to two birthday parties, but I don't have pictures of those.

And we still three Christmas parties, two Middle School concerts, a Nutcracker performance, a gingerbread house and Christmas cookies to make, not to mention Christmas Eve, Christmas and New Year's Eve. Oh wait, I still have to go Christmas shopping seeing as how I haven't even bought one Christmas gift yet!

Sydney's 2nd Birthday

Sydney's 2nd birthday had a princess theme. (Way to get another use out of a Halloween costume, right....)




Doesn't everyone look beautiful in their royal finery? My mom made Tyler his handsome prince costume so he wouldn't have to keep dressing up in princess clothes!We got Sydney a kitten for her birthday. I love how surprised she looks in this picture even though she had already had Gus for a week!
Sydney and Aubrey making us all laugh with their antics! They both really wanted to play with the stick horse from Papa. He was right, "every princess needs a pony."

Sydney became obsessed with dress-up princess shoes when she saw Aubrey's about a week ago. Susan decided that she would get Sydney some for her birthday and she gave them to Syd early. And ever since then, she wears them non-stop. Her favorites are the Snow White shoes. Little Ally (whom the shoes just about fit) told us they were the most comfortable.
