HapPy HaLLOwEeN... a few weeks late

So the day of, we decided to dress up as....
SANDRA DEE & DANNY!
We hit up a couple parties, then off to Blockbuster for a scary movie... LADY IN WHITE anyone!!!
Ace made a very studly Danny indeed!
The fearsome foursome of the night.

Becca made a very cute school girl, while Chris was a...  I think rockstar maybe?
Striking duo nonetheless!

Closet Rehab

You want entertainment... try going through your closet
with a BFF...and BF...

For the record - I was voted BEST DRESSED in high school [so what if it was THS...and over a decade ago]... and I happen to think I have great taste in clothes, but going through my closet last Sunday was definitely a humbling experience.  We were laughing to tears!!!
How did my closet suddenly become full of so many loose, ruffly, sheer pieces, which at the time of purchase seemed rad and edgy... only now to be described by the words - GRANDMA STYLE!
Luckily I had two blunt and very helpful partners to help me sift through it.

Now that I have closet space, looks like I have a license to shop, but with a few rules in tact:

1. Steering clear of Anthropologie for a while, where I get hypnotized & warped not only into thinking a $48 T shirt is reasonable, but also entrenched in granny style...
2.  No more ruffles for a while, trying to keep it simple.
3.  Last but not least, gotta stop going Ape on bargains where I feel like it's too good of a deal to pass up on, even if I don't love it.

I have to say, it does feel nice to go through your closet.  Someone once told me that you wear 20% of your clothes, 80% of the time.  I definitely believe it.  Go ahead - get brave, and go through your closet!!!

the long way!

WHO would of thought you could access Logan via dirt road?
In an effort to beat the traffic, we decided to off road it...for hours!
Definitely an Ace-Style road trip.
Turned out we were able to see some beautiful fall scenery...
And we made it in time to support our Aggies to a GIANT win
against BYU!!!!

GO AGGIES!!
A big win for USU, and definitely a good time!
Plus we were able to pass through WHO-VILLE from the Grinch...  If anyone
has ever wondered where that city is, now you know!

Operation Room... going out on a limb

Step 1:  Tape out a tree
Step 2:  Paint the room... tear off the tape.. and hope for the best
Step 3:  Add some stuff...
Step 4:  Enjoy! TOO lazy to post a good reveal photo.

OK, so my room is old news... but I thought I'd post anyways.
Quite proud of the end result, especially because I pretty much did it all by myself, which is a feat in and of itself!

REDEEMED!

I spent 2.5 hours of my life yesterday cooking dinner... I think I redeemed myself from the cookies:  I made stuffed shells [bonus points for ground turkey, spinach, and lowfat cheeses] breadsticks with balsamic dip, and potatoes.   Well Becca made the potatoes, but still... making progress!
warning - not actual photo of meal
The end result was quite impressive if I do say so myself.

E for EFFORT..?

Is there a reason my cookies look like this?  Is it time to invest in a Kitchenaid?
I was just trying to show off my domestic side to my BF and this is what happened...
Judging by the fact they all ended up in the trash can I think I failed.

Do any of you [HA - all three readers of this blog] have any impressive {EASY} recipes I can redeem myself with?

USU hey Aggies all the Way!

These girls cheered with me at Utah State....

Where does the time go?  I CAN'T believe it's literally been TEN!
I LOVE - LOVE these girls!!!

what a difference a year makes!!!

So I've decided to join the blog world once again, after a year plus hiatus...  This past year has been a big one.  Definitely a GROWING year for me.  It's hard to believe how much my life has changed, but I'm so thankful it has!

Some of the positives from the DIVORCE are: PERSPECTIVE, less judgemental outlook, hope, INDEPENDENCE, finding out who your real friends are [and leaning on them!!!], knowing yourself much better (finding out what you're made of), establishing better habits {give up TV, it'll change your life for the better}, meeting interesting people,  trying new things [even SUSHI], & PEACE... just to name a few.

*** Most important reminder...  THE ABILITY TO TRUST MYSELF & MY INSTINCTS [INVALUABLE]!

Feeling very much in my own skin these days. I'm GRATEFUL for this past  year, and wouldn't trade it.
