New Releases: 18mm French Chasseurs à Cheval of the line
The Line chasseurs of Napoleon's Grande ArmÃĐe were, like their Hussar counterparts, the operational assets French generals relied upon to link the strategic objectives of their emperor to the tactical realities of the campaign theatre. These troopers were vital in reconnaissance, marking enemy formations, scouting march routes, and securing a forces' area control by denying enemy light cavalry their ability to operative effectively.
In battle, these units served as strategic reserves for divisions and brigades, both by securing the flanks of infantry assault, and plugging the gaps in broken lines with desperate counter-charges.
Tony Barton has added to his already extensive imagining of these soldiers in 18mm by sculpting skirmishing figures on foot and mounted, as well as troopers in the Kinski coat. The Kinski was a simplified, short-tailed single breasted coat worn by chasseurs during the pinnacle of Napoleon's imperial power, roughly between 1808 and 1812. 
To accompany these figures, Tony has also added Elite company troopers in shako. These figures are suitable for those wishing to add elite variety to their units, but are depicting a campaign theatre after 1808 when the elite chasseur bearskin had been phased out of production.
