Get started with Google Workspace Experiments

To get early access to AI features in Google Workspace, you can sign up for Google Workspace Experiments with your personal account. Workspace Experiments is a trusted tester program which allows you to try out new AI features. Features in Workspace Experiments are in development, and their quality and availability may vary.

What you need

  • Be 18 years or older.
  • A personal Google Account that you manage.
    • Workspace Experiments is not available for Google Workspace accounts.

Tips:

  • You can get access to Workspace Experiments features in some countries and languages. Learn where you can use Workspace Experiments features.
  • To check if you have access to Workspace Experiments, look for the Gemini icon in a Workspace app like Gmail or Docs.
    • For example, at the top right of Gmail or Docs, click Ask Gemini . If it’s present, you have access to features in Workspace Experiments.

Fix access issues with Workspace Experiments features

If you can’t access Workspace Experiments features, try the solutions below:

Turn off Workspace Experiments features

To turn off Workspace Experiments features, you must exit Workspace Experiments. If you exit, you permanently lose access to all Workspace Experiments features, and you can’t rejoin Workspace Experiments.

To permanently exit Workspace Experiments, go to Google Docs, Google Slides, Sheets, Gmail, or Meet.

How to exit from Google Docs, Slides & Sheets
  1. On your computer, open a file on Google Docs, Slides, or Sheets.
  2. At the top, go to Tools and then Opt out of Workspace Experiments.
  3. Click Confirm.
How to exit from Gmail
  1. On your computer, go to Gmail.
  2. At the top, click Settings .
  3. In the Workspace Experiments program notification, click Opt out.
  4. Click Opt out.
  5. Refresh your browser.
How to exit from Meet
  1. On your computer, go to Meet.
  2. At the top right, click Settings .
  3. On the left, click General.
  4. Next to “You can use Workspace Experiments features,” click Opt out.
