GASPACS [Utah State University]

GASPACS (Get Away Special Passive Attitude Control Satellite) is technological 1U CubeSat mission designed by the Utah State University, Logan, Utah .

The primary objective of the GASPACS mission is to deploy and rigidize a 1 meter long inflatable UV cured boom from a 1U CubeSat platform in low Earth orbit. The secondary objective is to measure attitude behavior of GASPACS to observe the effectiveness of the deployed boom assisting in a passive attitude control system.

In 2014, GASPACS was down-selected for a launch opportunity through the NASA ELaNa program.

The satellite was launched onboard the Dragon CRS-24 cargo spacecraft to the ISS, where it will be deployed later.
