Switch -ED[1] - exclude folders [empty only]

Switch -ed excludes folder records from processing.

If used when archiving, it indicates that folder records are not to be stored in the created archive. When extracting such archives, WinRAR creates non-empty folders based on paths of files contained in them. Information about empty folders is lost. All properties of non-empty folders except a name (timestamps, access rights, etc.) will be lost too, so use this switch only if you do not need to preserve such information.

Unlike -ed, switch -ed1 omits only those folders, which do not contain any files. Folders with files inside are included into archive and their properties are preserved. Switch -ed1 is applicable only when archiving.

If -ed is used with m command or -df switch, WinRAR will not remove empty folders.
