So a job offer came in. The company offering it is one I helped build. In fact, the "I just don't give a what" profile picture that I use here was taken by the same guy offering me the position.

The "basin boys" came into the cementing game taking no prisoners and offering no quarter. We perfected the 2-stage 1-shot technique That is now used by every cementing company around. We made the name synonymous with quality work. Now they want me back, to put much of my oil-field and down-hole specific knowledge to work again.

I don't need the job. I can always fall back to truck driving; I own the equipment, so it's not like I would have to interview. So this isn't about money. It's a real choice.

And the real question before me is: do I pause the work on scrml?

If I take this job, it will consume my time my mind and my efforts. I know that going in. because it is who I am. And what the job requires.

While running my own company has allowed me time to focus on building scrml.

Building a language that doesn't exist yet, and writing programs in it, is a special kind of thing.

That's what excites me. But special for whom? The level of interest in this project appears to be approaching absolute zero.

There is an aire of finality here that scares the hell out of me.

and a silence that should cry havoc

I have to wonder: is that my answer?

Or just the voice of frustration, screaming, to unleash the dogs of war?

Do I go quietly into the night?

Or is it time to actually get loud?

And if it is the latter, well; Y`all aint seen nothing yet.
