05:18 pm - Marshmallows in flight, childhood delight
Remember when you were young and you'd have lucky charms for breakfast and all you'd want to do was go in the box and pick out the marshmallows? If you circled YES, maybe you'll enjoy this anecdote:

On the way home from a very formal faux artsy photo shoot at school, my mom called and wanted me to pick up some groceries. So, I went to Vons or Ralphs or Gelsons or something.

First on the list was shortbread (wink at suzi shap). Second on the list was the cereal Kashi(wink at madame bruner). When you eat Kashi, you want to pick up an imaginary phone and go "Hello? Hello Taste? I'm losing ya. Are you there?" SO, I decided to find a cereal where Taste would have better reception. Yes, I took that metaphor one step too far.

Anyhow, I'm searching for the perfect cereal and I come across the new school crazes like Oreo-O's, Waffle Crisp, Ja Rule presents Cheerios...and then I come across the old schoolers. THe first one I see is Lucky Charms. THis cereal was always bittersweet for me both literally and i guess metaphorically. Bittersweet for the obvious bitter (yes this word may be a stretch) non marshmallows and the sweet marshmallow marshmallows. And also bittersweet because I always wanted to (as beforementioned) pick out the marshmallows, but my parents understanably wouldn't let me. Marshmallow is such a weird word I feel awkward and uncomfortable typing it.

SO, naturally I pick up a box and decide I will go home and indulge in my childhood fantasies. At first, I'm just so happy!!! WOW!! THIS IS GREAT I LOVE THIS!! FREE TIBET!!! LOVE YOU, YOUNG SAM WE DID IT GIRL LOOK AT YOU NOW!! But then I realize after eating what is probably like 46 marshmallows (eww please invent a new word) that my mouth feels blah too sweet. So I actually start eating the non-marshies, the stuff that theoretically I hate. I don't want to do one of those "It just goes to show ya" things, but it just goes to show ya that it is the bitter things in life that help us to appreciate the sweet things in life. The End. MERRY CHRISTMAS (officially).

Age-old question: What would Christmas be like without Christmas themed jokes?
Timeless answer: Pretty much the same.

Obviously "Timeless answer" is the Scrooge-like character in this dialogue. So I say, sorry Chaz (Dickens), this time, let's teach Scrooge a lesson, even though he in fact DOES learn a really valuable one from three spectres. That's beside the point. For your holiday viewing pleasure as well as mine, a few knee slappers that would even plaster a smile on the face of ol' Timeless Answer:
(Try to guess without googling them, or google them, but Santa's watching and he HATES that):

What do Santa's elves learn as children?

What letter is the Christmas alphabet missing?

How do Spanish speaking sheep say "Merry Christmas?" (hint: the answer may or may not be the subject of this entry)

What does a cat on the beach and Christmas have in common?

What's the leading form of depression among Santa's little helpers?

Why did Santa choose the chimney of all places in spite of his Santa-Clausetrophobia (I like to throw in a joke within a joke at times)?

Well, that's all I've got for now, because it's time to go wait for Santa and the visions of sugar plums dancing in my head are making me sore (remember that word's phase?) uneasy. Happy Holidays (non-denom.) to all, and to all a good night!

10:17 pm - check it, ch ch check it
just a little something to make you guys feel better: i JUST started incidents in the life of a slave girl. i am on page 5. the book starts on page 4. so if you have read more than a page, you are in a better spot than I am, my friend. and yet, there is a smile on my face. because the way i see it, it takes about a minute and a half a page. i have to read 150 pages, but in reality only 130 because, hey, whats 20 pages really? so i have to read 129 pages times 90 second equals 11610 seconds which is 193 minutes. that's just a good 3 hours and 13 minutes of pure reading that i shall start at 6:47 p.m. on sunday night to have the novel done by my bedtime of 10:00 p.m. im really really happy with this. so happy i'll start reading at 6:46 p.m. on sunday night so i can have a minute to reflect and maybe check live journal or something. who knows.

what i do know is in that minute, the world will be my oyster.

what i dont know is if that oyster

will contain a pearl

but it won't because i'm thinking of clams and its 1:00 a.m.

03:59 pm - Why?
Why not.

you know what im doing, folks. non-livejournalists need not apply.

1. one of the most creative people i know. we are going to see your name in lights someday. big, i tells ya, big. i dont really know you all that well, but i do say a fond "hello" to you in the halls along with the occasional snide remark. yes.

2. one of the funniest people i know. best live journal hands down, and that is a feat. we used to be best friends.

3. fellow bel canto survivor. always found you to be an interesting chick with a mysterious lj name. but i cracked the code...or you cracked it for me.

4. i am sore jealous of your singing voice. BAH

5. no.

6. man are you attractive. so intriguing. slightly intimidating, very smart. we have a couple classes together this year.

7. unfortunate last name when a certain foreign language teacher mispronounces it. i had a major crush on you in 7th grade. i wrote about you in my actualy journal ha ha hoo.

8. you are one of my favorite people even though i don't in fact know you all that well. funny, funny, genuinly funny. talented, oh so. and i love your nickname for me endlessly.

9. we have sang together and you are quite the beautiful specimen if i do say so.

10. i dont think we've met, but your name rhymes with banna baftergood.

11. you are so much fun. im glad we're picking things up where we left off in 8th grade. an excellent shat talker.

12. we were in a production together and i just think you are the bee's knees. the city that never sleeps is so lucky to have you.

13. the maybe 2 times ive seen you you have been absolutely charming. the Jewish community is so lucky to have you.

14. you have told me to be quiet a thousand times. chatting, like pretty faces, is my weakness.

15. we fight over a seat in a class this year that im new to. i'll give it up for... a hoola hoop. final offer.

16. I CANT WAIT!!!

17. finally, you are the solfegio for the third note in a scale.

12:53 pm - DA FUTURE
"Better late than never."

Mr. Brink said this to me once when I turned in a lab 5 months late. I feel this is an appropriate quote to start this entry because it has been a month and (30 days hath septemeber...) 16 days since last I updated. Let's see what has been going on since September 26th?
It kind of sucks because people like max and olivia can update and just be like

BLAHH. sChOOl sUcKS!

not like they would but they can because they update so regularly. they have the props to do that. i on the other hand haven't updated for a month and 16 days so my post has to be revoLUtionary. but then again i dont have these newfangled photoshop type things so i can put salt on my friends like ellen, let alone use the term "salty." in addition, dteya pressured me into updating, so that ups the antee (sp?).

you know what no one does? no one changes the date on their entry for fun. id like to do this now. Keep in mind it is actually November 11th and 10:43 a.m. (what a depressing time of day)nora nora nora nora nora

well we just wrapped up the musical. congrats to professor max, oleebia "bloody mary made me love the cack!" thandoball (why joo no call mommy), nora "cora mcgray" tillmanns (great job on costumes! did you know liza minelli, born "tildy garland" played liza minelli as a child in south pac?), hannah "properties" aftergood (what was it like working WITH jenny werner), a. "dinah murphy, may we never forget" k., and ali "i manage the stage" karic. i believe those are all the live journal musical involvees. if not, AHHHH! and thanks to all who came.

mr. axelrod used me as an example the other day in bio. i played a vesicle and he played a protein and together we represented endocytosis. although it was the "endo" cytosis and the presentation, i sensed the "starto" something beautiful. that was the most sex and the city line i have ever created.

meg strat: im so sorry i forgot to tell you about the musical dates. i love you and we must catch up.

"Like, we're all so talented, and that's why the world sucks."
~Lizzie Gruner @ cast party

just thought that would make an interesting segue (thats right, its not segway). i bet that will be the quote for the SAT writing. any takers? in fact, i would like to write a mock introductary SAT paragraph to this quote:

Webster defines "talent" as "one that spreads gossip or rumors." However, I have discovered that my eyes made a dramatic shift upwards to the word "talebearer." In retrospect, haven't we all made mistakes like this? Milton spelled "Egypt" "Egipt" in an early draft of Paradise Lost. Teen hearthrob Ashlee Simpson was caught pulling a Milli Vanilli. Florida voted Bush. Handsome Henry Clay called Jefferson a banchee. I broke a glass bottle on the 5th day of tenth grade during the activities fair. And finally, Lizzie Gruner said this quote.
